  1. Where are you recalling from? Not Tom Coopers book? When did the -29 incident occur?
  2. They didn’t lose 20 cats lol. The A was fine in the beginning but they adapted pretty quickly and as long as they knew tomcats were inbound they could counter the missile. A 50 percent war time hit percentage is excellent, even today. That’s a very effective weapon. Only IR weapons up close can hope for better success without flares coming into play.
  3. Most of the Iraqi targets did not have any RWR or only rudimentary. No one in the world had experience against an active radar missile during the Iran-Iraq War. You fly against AI in DCS that incorporates tactics against active radar missiles. It is that simple. If we could set AI by training depth and calendar year instead of "novice" and "ace" you would have the results you are looking for. An Iranian tomcat against a MiG-23S in 1979 vice against a Su-27 in 1998 are very different scenarios.
  4. You're going through your start up and start hearing "Avion" for the first time is a bit of a shock
  5. Just to be annoyingly clear. Having the radios tuned doesn’t allow transmit. You need to select either the green or red radio by pushing that button in- then use your transmit button. Your red radio will not transmit when this happens.
  6. excellent thank you for making this!
  7. Those TCTS pods are loaded far too aft
  8. Check the Aerges Facebook page! EE coming soon! INS, AAR, 530F!
  9. Let me be more clear on this. Deployed- they were retained. Many peacetime photos and references show them removed for the specifics of drag and fuel economy. In this sim we are mostly simulating a wartime scenario so pylons would be retained- should have thought this through before posting.
  10. Real world scenario is NOT empty pylons remaining. The wingtip rails were often removed as they do increase drag. They were kept if a Magic training round was loaded. I have seen a few pictures of a jet flying with empty rails, but by and large at least from photo evidence the pylons were removed in French service. Other operators may have retained them to be able to load them quicker.
  11. I am more than happy to edit operation reforged to make the aircraft and weapons more accurate with the timeline.  If not, I’ll just edit them on my own (no distribution) and enjoy them.  Again the scripting and story and missions are incredible!!!  I just like seeing 1990 Hornets act like 1990 Hornets

Give me a week but I’ll compile a loadout report by mission.  I don’t know if the AI will use SLAMs with the datalink pod.  This would be a useful alternative to the JSOWS.  I changed the loadout to GBU-16s with ATFLIR(thinking Nitehawk pod) and the Hornets do not use them- at least in that mission.  It’s the TALD escort mission with a lot of cruise missiles.  Pretty much every mission also has an ACMI pod on a wingtip as well and no amraams or Sparrows.  The ACMI pod and odd loadouts are in every mission where the Hornets are strikers.  I also loaded half of the hornets with 2 HARMs whenever they were strikers.  This almost made the missions too easy though

Im good with the alternate timeline Navy IOC for the AIm-120 wasnt until 1993.  This is rivet counting, just making sure you know.  The Sparrows work great

Oh yeah, I know ofc when the amraam was brought to service, but I had to move it up in the fictional timeline, as mentioned above.

Also thank you for your input and feedback, it is much appreciated.

  12. The Magic and Sidewinder can use the same wing mounting bolts and electrical connections BUT NOT THE SAME RAIL. This is IRL confirmed. The Magic uses the LM39 Rail and the AIM-9 uses the AERO 3B, called the ADP-8 in Spanish service. They are different rails. What the Dassault manual means when they are compatible means the mounting bolts for the rail to the actual wing and the electrical connectors are the same, NOT the rails.
  13. 100 percent this. Also there are two LHDa with 6 AV-8Bs a piece. Put 8 of them in the air supporting the Marines. Use the FC3 A-10A, the A-10C did not exist yet. I change the missions to be more historically accurate every patch. in spite of this- triggers, immersion, story, flight areas are excellent and top notch
  14. The 550 is a fat missile with more drag and vibration impact that an AIM-9. The F1 has tiny wingtips- I dont doubt the need for trim
  15. FYI No fighter pilot this side of the Korean War jettisoned droptanks when empty. They were jettisoned when attacked or if you HAD to get somewhere very fast. The F-15Cs in Desert Storm One did do this whenever they were running down MiGs, only because they were authorized. The Navy calls them external tanks- bring them back or have a very good reason they are gone.
  16. It's listed as susceptible to compressor stall in its own manuals - not as bad as the module currently has it, but it happens. I like your logic though, well thought out and explained and makes sense. The ATAR 9K50 was supposed to change to the M53 and we would all be flying Super Mirage F1s- though a single spool like you said. I thought dual spool turbofans is what finally practically negated compressor stalls altogether- perhaps the dual spool has little to do with it.
  17. I'll defer to a pilot with the hours. But the relight process is extremely reliable and should be improved if its not relighting in the envelope.
  18. Not true. The engine is susceptible to flameout as a single spool turbojet. The current model does seem too liberal in how frequent it happens, but the real jet will flameout and have engine problems, IRL I can assure you.
  19. Nothing in the special options before you fly? I’m on the road and can’t check
  20. This is accurate. It is 100% set by a human and not calculated by the aircraft. It is the same in the Mirage 2k but the 2k has an option to have this calculated by the sim. Did you check there?
  21. The F1 often didn’t fly with empty missile rails because of the impact on drag- although wingtip missiles and rails improve high alpha stability. It’s a relatively small jet, any asymmetric load has an impact
  22. Is it possible they simulate the load on the alternators? For the people with failures, are you in an A-A mission with missiles selected and prepped?
  23. My apologies. I clarified the correct response today. The button arms and deploys the flaps. The lever is kind of a panic that disarms the switch. This is how the aircraft was designed. The term lever is misleading. It is just a big squeeze button to disarm the flaps. Combat flaps differs from intermediate flaps by have the leading edge slats controlled by the aircraft to 75% of travel and auto retract the flaps if you get too fast. The main Flaps switch gives you full slats and stay down so you can overspeed them and damage them. Combat flaps switch gives you the lift and speed protection. so in short, the controls work perfect.
