DCS: A Way to out of Endless Early Access
USA_Recon replied to omskTransmash's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Stable is on the last stable version 2.5.5. 2.5.6 hasn't been stable. The length of time between stable 2.5.5 and unstable buggy 2.5.6 shows that ED has made a big mistake trying to make 2.5.6 stable and at the same time try to push a SC. I think SC has caused extra delays. See above post, a single module shouldn't be controlling stability of other modules, and shouldn't prevent ED from getting 2.5.6 into a stable version with less bugs, perf fixes, VR fixes, and bugs marked as fixed but not delivered -
DCS: A Way to out of Endless Early Access

new closed beta testing is great. should help deal with mp bugs we get. suggestion: closed beta testers don't need to be YouTube people. Being part of closed beta testing shouldn't be for some of the community testers to increase their hit counts. criticism: not a fan of holding back bug fixes for modules in order to wait weeks for a SC that some don't really care about - so, ie. a much needed Viper DL fix is ready, but we have to wait for SC to have it ? I don't like that very much :) -
Would be a nice feature :)

Razbam seems to be the owners of anything 'Mig' - can only hope they will do one someday

Is there a way to control the sensitivity of the azimuth binding?

How does it know which radio btw ?
-
ok I think this is what I'm looking for. Thanks I have had issues for the last several version where the 'select' command wasn't working for me (ie. if there are multiple AAR available in a mission - i used to be able to say 'select arco'

Is it possible to switch radio frequencies ? ie. comm1 push 18 ?

HOW TO: Enable Motion Reprojection for WMR
USA_Recon replied to DerekSpeare's topic in Virtual Reality
WMR is not for Rift - for Microsoft based headsets like Reverb, Odyssey, etc... -
If you were to choose between Flanker and Eagle...
USA_Recon replied to Gierasimov's topic in Chit-Chat
Without a doubt the Eagle :) -
MFD's from ED are really poorly done. There are a couple of mods I highly recommend - visibility and readability. Makes a big difference in VR and also desktop. It's definitely a pet peave of mine that ED would be ok with how this currently is, it's not very high quality workmanship.

What is the satus on fixing some of the main issues?
USA_Recon replied to bkthunder's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I'd have to say, these are some items I'd put higher on the list as well. -

None of these bother me. Short press is SCAN, longer is LOS. Works fine get used to it. EXP is definitely useable, I use it all the time. It zooms and helps separate targets. Again, not sure I get your complaints. These are so super minor. -

Keep working on the Viper. Some items to note: 1. Please fix datalink, we keep getting patches that break it. Get it right 2. Fix the visibility and readability, there are 2 mods that do a much better job than ED's team. It's terrible, and sad it needs mods, especially for VR. 3. When is ED going to add fix all the new aircraft radar from saying 'UNKNOWN' ? Viper needs locked target type ? Personally I'm happy with any progress we make, I just ask that ED stop with the 3 steps forward, 2 steps back with bugs (ie. datalink). I still have hope we hear about the next high fidelity jet - fingers are crossed. I wish to see a high fidelity jet being worked on every year. I also hope ED's dream of having resuable modular code actually happens because I'm holding out hope for that 'eagerly anticipated aircraft' and I'd rather ED release things early like the Viper rather than sit on it for many months. I have really enjoyed the systems we have and look forward to more to come! -
if you do not want to break your neck to check your six in VR
USA_Recon replied to lefuneste01's topic in Virtual Reality
I'm unable to get it to work in DCS, works in steamvr. And I have the seated the option checked. Any ideas? -
[FIXED INTERNALLY] All datalink contacts appear as friendly
USA_Recon replied to RyanFlint's topic in Bugs and Problems
What do you mean a million things ? This change log said they fixed it, then they pushed it broken IN THIS PATCH. And clearly whoever fixed it never tested it. Has nothing to do with 'stable version'. -

The fix for the fix... hmm hope it's a hot fix -

Datalink broken even worse Before everything showed up as hostile, but if you IFF you'd get the green circle. Now, everything is friendly. You IFF, it stays green. It appears I must soft lock everything now and *then* IFF. Basically your patch made it worse -
TMS down, put it into boresite, point at where targets are and TMS up. You don't need a waypoint for any of this.

Viper is a rate fighter, Hornet is pointy. Get pointy with a Hornet and you'll die.

Yes it's hard to read

AI F5 isn't realistic at all. But I'm never defensive against an F5... lol. Sure, the F5 will loop endlessly without losing E but he won't ever actually get on your 3/9 line. You aren't doing something right if that is the case.

It always shimmers on the ground, no matter what the settings, mod, etc... MSAA though is a big framerate killer, I would rather increase my PD to 1.2 and keep it off. Shader mod didn't do much for me, I suspect maybe it works on lower end systems.

I don't have any issues seeing with my Reverb outside of one item.... dark blue sky. Aircraft disappear in the unrealistic dark blue sky. Reality is it would be even easier to see. I'm looking outside now and my sky is light blue, not dark blue. The DCS world is like a poorly done gradient from light to dark. Outside of that, VR improved my ability to see in VR outside of the obvious need to turn at a 1:1 ratio to see things. Seeing in DCS is about training the eyes. Especially at the ranges your talking about, 2-3 miles. And it would obviously be harder to spot a F5 against a dark Nevada range, but that is realistic. The key is positioning yourself to see the bandit against the lighter areas of the sky.

F-15 when in TWS and firing a sparrow should auto switch to STT. Thank you
