  1. Was testing a group of bandits close together hot on the radar 25k / 50 miles and in. eventually got 3 tracks at around 40-50 miles. Was able to lock (soft or in tws) an element - eventually could get 2 or them but the group with a elevation difference - unable to separate (same distance - one dropped to 20k the other at like 25k )
  2. I’m looking to try this - does it work in OpenXR ? also I’m wanting a tablet that I can use for this as well as a reading / web browsing tablet - is there a best option ?

  5. 3 issues since the patch - I've cleared shaders, no mods, slow clean 1. kneeboard is blurry - like low resolution 2. TGP is blurry - like low resolution (Viper) 3. Issues with JMCS - its right eye only (Viper)
  6. I’m also seeing this with latest current patch - as described - in particular facing light sources with clouds and wingman. Clouds flickering quite a bit, wingman aircraft pixellated. Fences at airbases are really bad as well openxr msaa x 2 high clouds 3090 5850 Reverb G2

  8. Agree. Kudos to ED for making this happen . Not a pressing issue but was wondering if there could be some GUI checkbox in the future for the general DCS users ? The command line option seems more for advanced users . once again ! Good progress !

  10. some other oddities around locking with F15. RTS and then search again worked - undesignated doesn't work
  11. Since patch, doing a simple straight on ACM - I'm seeing where I'm unable to lock a bandit straight ahead in TWS or STT. Doesn't happen every time. Auto Acquisition works fine - so this is with captain bars. Had it both in MP and SP.
  12. I suspect my target was too close . is this a code issue or simulating real life ? (1nm)
  13. I followed the instructions per the patch notes but the boresight isn’t working on cold start . It’s not close to the pre targeting pod location

  16. Why even give estimates that are this vague and open ended - that is what I’m saying - just leave it at giving status updates . The progress report is a great news item - I’m not saying don’t give status updates. If I’m not mistaken last year it was 4Q of this year - so … Ie . Internal testing - so how is it going ? Are you seeing improved performance ? Better frame rates ? Ability to turn up settings with better performance ? Fixes the flashing loading screens ? Allows for objects drawn without pausing ? That would be inspiring news to be worthy of making the newsletter “Next year” is a meaningless phrase that becomes a joke - anyone in this product knows this
  17. Great news . Suggestion:- another “next year” news item. ED seems to feel the need to throw out arbitrary news with arbitrary dates that are never met. Seems by now you’d stop doing this unless you like like the constant “2 weeks” banter as a mocking of how silly your dates are. We’ve all grown old of this. So how about you just wait until it’s done and then say “next patch we will introduce multicore” and not continue to make the same mistake over and over again. Just 2 cents from someone who spent $6000 this year to play your game :)

  19. I did this on 2.8 and what I described has not changed . ED is still limiting view distance in an artificial way that is odd - seeing lighted roads through a city but not seeing the city lights is not ideal

  22. I have to restart my DCS after playing a mission and then joining a MP server. If I leave and come back to the save MP , I have to restart DCS first. Is this is a new 2.8 feature ?
  23. Followed the instructions but in 2.8 it appears the delay stays on despite the documentation ?
  24. Flew a night mission in PG and not to far away is a city with lights: I could see the road and it’s lights clearly off but had to zoom to see this big city with tons of lights . What I don’t understand is why doesn’t visibility distance allow a further distance rendering ? ED artificially caps this requiring zoom which is not very realistic (same for contrails). Again should be part of the visibility not a zoom feature

It’s a for profit product with professionals building it with cost associated with it more than most any game out there - $60-80 modules etc .. enough said - good luck - it is important to allow customers to voice reasonable feedback so glad on this medium I was able to do this for myself and my squad mates without being muted. I’ll explain to them today that it was a hoax and not a bug in 2.8. Glad we can disable it - didn’t know about this feature until this morning
