Where is this to be found? Another question in my ignorance: It says "unpacking files" but it appears to be still downloading "7805.5 of 24730.3 MBytes,...." "and shows DL rate.

The unpacking alone is taking AGES. Its gonna be a long night..

Still no dive here... Even when manually pressing the update version.. -
I don't see how robbing me of a week with the Normandy map for symbolic reasons would bring me any kind of joy- no:music_whistling: We'll do plenty of "virtual honoring" of D-day by the truckloads of D-day scenarios we'll be flying. But I'll believe its actual release the day I am playing it for myself. They said it would be released in 2016("...still on track for 2016 release..") up until when there was a few days left of the year. Nothing would shock me.

Accipiter: The recording sounds good- but your wingmen seem to sound all the same copy/paste in the video. I assume this is because its WIP. Other than that it is nice:) I will be using Tangerine, but copying one of your wingmen into the mix for variation. BTW- you also operate with modern terms you might consider swapping out. "Splash one bandit" and "Guns guns!" "Copy" f etc. Other than that- great efforts from both of you. Looking forward to future updates.

Great! Make sure to throw in some "cleared to pancake", "Tally-ho!" and the likes:D Also- just as a tip, in the German counterpart mod- the switched the DCS flight names- "Dogde, Ford, Hog" etc to period counterparts. Might be worth considering. Either way- apprieciate everything! Good luck! BTW did you reupload with YoYo's tweaks?
-
Uh fellas.. You guys seem to think that we don't need any more videos and screenshots- but we DO! If I were you I'd put them down in the DCS screenshots section as well- let them see what they are missing so they can suffer like the resut of us!

I do not think the picture above shows the extent of the map.
-
Confirm it is legit. It is solid, but some sounds annoyed me so I made a tweak of my own, recording from various sources using Goldwave. But at least you will have proper Merlin sounds. The sound and file structure varies from AC to AC. So the spit has a different setup than the p-51 (Though many similarities)
-
One tend to pick theathres that are relevant. And even if the 190D and 109K came later- what they share with the Spit, P-51, and P-47 were the fact that they operated over the western front, where the air fighting were the most intense. Western Europe, not just Normandy, are predominantly flat and dominated by agricultural landscape. North Africa, is dominated by Sahara- endless, lifeless streches of sand. I don't see how that could have been better. If you want hills- fly the Caucasus. I could argue that the Netherlands bordering Germany would have been a better choice for the planeset- giving the more correct timeperiod for all AC (December 1944-May 45). It would however- still be mostly flat. Normandy, while very iconic for its D-day campaign, had some of the least intensive air to air fighting (compared to 40-43, and even the late war), but its about ten thousands times better than what we have now- and the map is beautiful and true to life. And for Spitfire, Jugs, and even P-51's- its a great choice, doing dirty work together with the army.

Sounds good! Great flying also:)
-
Looks spectacular. Keep em coming. This vids are my lifeblood until release:D
-
I think it looks great! Overcast conditions have always been to dark in DCS. This looks much better. Looks like a european summer day:) Also, the Normandy campaign, including D-day itself was plagued with poor conditions and summer storms. This looks the part!

Yeah- I don't speak much German, but that one sounds incredible. Better than many built-in voices in many flight games.

AI wingmen formation distance
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to Marcast's topic in User Created Missions General
Except that this one for some reason is not implemented in all aircraft yet leaving the editor the only option. Hope that will be fixed soon. -
Yeah- he did a good job on adding slighty different accents to the wingmen- but the ATC is identical to the pilot as he says himself- I just muted the player voice which works ok
-
Chip him a PM then- I'm sure he'd be ok with it:)
-
I agree. This pack is very well done- it could just use some more post processing. Also, here and there there are some "modern" phrases that would be better with their older variants Ex: "Ejecting" should be "I'm bailing out" "Splash one!" could be "Got one!/Bagged one!" etc... Still it is very good work- and if someone with experience with filters/post processing would lend Tangerine a hand...:)
-
This clip is a start up and taxi clip and not enough to make a sound mod as mentioned. By the way, there exist Spitfire sound mods that use real merlin sounds as well. You just need to look beyond these forums.

Will the lighting/shader effects from Normandy "spill over" to the NTTR on the 2.1 release?

JGSME / Mods with 2.0/ normandy
REDEYE_CVW-66 replied to philstyle's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Sound mods generelly work just fine in 2.0. I have sound mods for all WW2 birds as well as the M-2000 running fine in Nevada- so it is very likely that the will work just as well in Normandy- unless they change the files structure completely- which I find unlikely (but possible off course) -
Off course the Germans can fly to England- just like everyone else. And sure you can make BoB like scenarios- but if you are so historically picky as you yourself point out- with the current planeset, it will not be perfect for BoB. But German bombers (JU-88 which is on the way) escorted by 109's and attacked by Spits- no problem.
