  1. Thanks for peaking in Crazyeddie. Seems strange that a code for smoke is limited to ship objects only. It would be awesome if it was possible like you say, an invisble land object that emits smoke. The smoke from ships looks a lot better than the smoke from wreckage. A few of those smoke stacks around the Normandy countryside would work wonders for immersion:)
  2. The smoke emitted from the chimneys of the mods made by CrazyEddie looks great and is visible from long distances. It would be lovely to have smokestacks as these, placeable as a static objects, so the can rise from ruins and villages, especially for Normandy, but equally anything else. Does this exist or does someone have the knowhow to make it?
  3. Although I guess it will be excellent (to Wags and Bunyaps credit), releasing a Spitfire close-support campaign without bombs and without working (visual) flak seems like an odd choice. I'm curious to see what they have in mind, alhtough as a Spitfire nut I will obviously insta-buy it.
  4. The skins are great. Thanks a lot! Just a question: Were olive green still used to some extent in 44 or were most/all bombers in silvers finish at this point?
  5. If you can ignore the French airfields (And German models), you can pretty much recreate the entire pre-day campaign, with attacks against logistics and infrastructure, escorts and fighter sweeps. Just got a very long stretch of channel to cross. (And need drop tanks for spits)
  6. Silver Dragon are you serious?:D In that case I'm can't seem to find cigarette and chocolate rations either. Hope to see them in the next patch;)
  7. ...because the effects for the 88 is not /done implemented at this point. Bofors is another matter. Have not tested it- but the clip looks good! Bodes well for whats in the pipeline.
  8. The effect is not done/implemented at this point.
  9. It is significant unfortunately. A group of 18 bombers defending against 8 bf 109's sent my frames from around the 60 mark down to the twenties. Your mileage may vary.
  10. Congratulations to the team for a very solid update. Performance for my GTX970 16GB RAM rig has increased up to 5-10 frames in general and runs much more fluid. The overall colours of the ocean and sky is SIGNIFICANTLY improved. I was not at all fond of the way it looked at release, but this is a huge step in the right direction. The water looks superb, but still hope to see whitecaps produced at much lower windrate than now. This in combination with the gamma slider now lets me get very believable lighting conditions and has improved the game immensely. The improved clouds look way better (Given that they are old tech) and is a welcome addition. Nice to see some ground textures improved- (Still hope to see some work done to the colour grading of some of the field textures that stick out in an unnatural way. Hope that the grass and runway textures from the Spitfire trailer will work their way back at some point. As mentioned in another post, the stones/ground clutter does not work well for Normandy in my opinion. Large, round stones would not have been found in either airfields or farmers fields. I just does not look good. The new assets look gorgeous and their animations are very impressive. Hope that will we see some Flak 88 puffs placeholder at some point (I know all effects are being reworked, but just a representation, like f.eks the puffs from german cannons would be welcome) Love to see that the B-17's fire back, but predicably, it turns into a slideshow very quickly. (I am sure the decs have thought of it, but could it be an idea to have gunners fire in salvos/pulses, to reduce their rate of fire significantly? Seems both realistic and framerate saving) All in all: A solid step in the right direction. Kudos to the team and the efforts put into this:pilotfly:
  11. For me, the new stones cluttered around does not make a lot of sense. For one, it ruins the airfields, not to mention that all farmers would remove them from their fields as well, and they don't look particularly good either. Seeing a large stone every 3 yards does not enhance immersion. HOWEVER- the patch has brought a very significant performance boost, that together with the gamma slider is very velcome:)
  12. Same effect here. Nose up when trimmed fully down
  13. I hope you will consider looking at Normandy down the line;) It could really use your touch as well.
  14. No, it is directed at the makers of the Normandy map, Racoon for instance, which is quite active on these forums. In hindsights I could write DEVS or some such. The question is not to the mission makers, it is asked by a mission maker, directed at the map makers.
  15. Yeah- I also noticed that with the 303's.
  16. Would it be possible to make these structures available in the mission builder? They would go a long way to populating some of the more simple English with permanent hangars, dispersals, tents, control towers etc.
  17. Hopefully they will be available one way or another. I would potentially pay for it, but I would need a more extensive preview. Been burned on this sort of thing before. But from what we saw/heard these sounds are incredible. To have them gather dust on a harddrive seems a big waste.
  18. From the screenshots in the last newsletter referring to the update it looks as though we will get B-17 gunners, or at least gun operations. Hope for progress in performance, better water (at altitude) and FLAK.
  19. Good Lord Jafa... That sounds INSANE! I really hope the community will get our grubby hands on this! Sounds incredible! The flybys are the best I heard in DCS!
  20. I heard that the autumn textures (to some extent) will be used for winter. I hope the will consider not having the orange falls leaves, but bare trees instead. Orange/yellow leaves only appear for a few weeks in late autumn.
  21. The pictures are old from newsletter released weeks and months ago.
