  1. You should throw in your Spit vid also Vlerkies. Looks great!
  2. While you wait- there are remedies. Google: DCS Unified WWII Mods
  3. Thanks for the input. The bullseye is not put there by me- the screenshot is from ED:) I just saw this space and wondered 'how developed' it was. I got my answer- and am happy to go back to watching you guys's screens of Normandy proper:)
  4. Roger. Thanks for the info!
  5. Can some shed some light on how this marked area looks in the map? I am fully aware that this area is not "developed" with cities and roads etc and that is is low detail. I am just wondering if it has some fields or forests or if it is just a green blanket. I want to make a campaign of a Spitfire pilot before the invasion, so I'd like to know if the area is viable to fly over for planning purposes. Screenshots apprieciated off course:)
  6. The damage model is a seperate project and not linked to the Normandy map itself. They have state that it is underway- and that is all we know. They have never said that it will be released with the Normandy map. Await seperate news on this as the have something more solid.
  7. Once Normandy is out, I am packing up and leaving 1.5 for good:)
  8. Strictness of the blackout might vary indeed- but I would be very surprised indeed if the Germans allow the french fully litt windows at night- and specifically not after Allied forces had landed. Here is some documentation from the book: The Crash of Ruin. American combat soldiers in Europe during WW2:
  9. Agreed! Would love to hear what ED's thoughts on this is. While lighting is nice for 'other flying' they specifically stated that this is Normandy "in the summer of 44". and realistic use of lights should be represented:)
  10. Some of the screens from Nirvi shows heavy damage to the city buildings. Is this the result of bombing- or some form of setting/option/trigger?
  11. Great to see screenshots of units in action at different times of day. Lots of awesome screens! Bread and circus for the lowly plebs!
  12. Great vid. I really, really hope they will consider killing the city lights at night. No one in their right minds would have lights in their windows in a contested warzone. Other than that it looks insanely well done.
  13. Hope to see a hands-on impression when possible btw:)
  14. The question is: would I have payed 140 bucks to be able to play it today? The answer is YES! (But in the end, I am grateful as I am in the middle of my exams:P)
  15. The o2 system is incomplete atm. It should be adjustable accordirng to altitude/consumption. What happens now is that it goes on to max and empties after 20-30 mins or so. Not very useful on flight lasting between 1-2 hours at 20+ thousand feet. Its WIP off course.
  16. Nevermind- worked it out. You have to drop all the archives content over to the Pak-Fa folder and THEN drop it in Mods/aircraft and then apply the skin as instructed above. The readme is somewhat misleading however. Great progress so far on the AC!
  17. From the read-me, it sounds like this is "drop-and play" ready. "#1 To Install the Pak FA MOd Just Drop The Pak Fa Folder Into .... DCS WORLD/MODS/AIRCRAFT FOLDER and your done." But when I download the archive from the above source- the Pak-Fa folder is empty and the files spread out all over. (Sounds, documents, Textures, theme....) What am I missing here?
  18. Judging from the livestream we just got- I can not help but think that Wags noticed this thread. :) If he did, that is just awesome. If he didn't.... Still awesome.
  19. With the days rolling by ever so slowy, livestreams and youtube snippets keep us going anticipating the Normandy release. The last streams have shown modern combat over the map. While I understand why, I would humbly suggest the following: A mission showing either dawn or dusk, with weather variation (rain, clouds..), with a WW2 warbird, taking off, overflying some of the new naval assets before setting off on either a CAP or ground attack mission. What module is not important (Though I am a mitchell fan). I would be nice to see the map in different condition and experience what the map is built for; WW2 air combat. If any else has any other suggestions, feel free to add them:)
  20. I talked to the author of "Spitfire Saga" (Own all volumes as well) at last years airshow at Sola. He was a very humble man and was very nice to chat with. He ended up saying that I should buy what he thought was his best book "Bomb the Gestapo headquarters!". Great to see Rolf Arne Berg getting his tribute!
  21. LST= Landing Ship Tank, one of the main vessel types used in Normandy. In the latest trailer of the WW2 asset pack from ED, you can see that the water has a greenish hue, in line with the water seen in the video in the fist post.
  22. For those wanting "pea soup" water colour in the English channel- check the latest trailer for the LST:D
  23. Sarcasm is fine, it is just that you were echoing a statement a lot of people tend to make. While I and the rest get the point fully- its beating a dead horse:):):)
  24. Playing a soundfile audible in cockpit is not the same I think. I would be cool to place a sound 'emitter' (invisible object) that emits sound at given parameters and this would work just a normal AC engine: the closer the louder, and closed canopy, much lower etc. The advantage of having an emitter like this, is that you are not limited to sirens, it could just as well be frontline ambience (The airfields in Normandy were very close to the frontline and could hear artillery and small arms fire) or just ambient airfield sounds, like engine run ups, cars driving in the distance etc.
