  1. In theory the F4U-1D and Essex class carrier from Magnitude should come next after the P-47, but they haven't posted any news since Christmas. Some time ago ED had a second WW2 map other than the Channel and the free map (Marianas) in development. Me 262 was just recently confirmed as ED's most likeliest next WW2 plane after P-47 and Mosquito. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4316650&postcount=366
  2. The overheating problems of the early Antons were long fixed until the A8 was produced. The original prototype aircraft prone to overheating still had the BMW 139 engine and a different spinner design. Later they switched to the BMW 801, with the C series powering the early Fw190As. The BMW 801 D, found in the later A series planes was especially improved to deal with the overheating problems. But most importantly Focke Wulf added additional gills in the cowl behind the exhaust stacks to improve air flow with Fw190 A2, that were refitted to some older machines. With the Fw 190 A5 the plane got the adjustable cowl flaps instead of the fixed gills, also featured in our A8.
  3. I agree. I can't understand why a handful of sentences each month is apparently too much. Just something written in 10 minutes like "This months, due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis our work had to slow down considerably. X is still working on the F4U cockpit model, while Y has a look at several issues with the MiG-21 FM and will do XYZ next. ..." Total silence is maybe acceptable if you don't have paid for products to support in a changing environment. But so you can only loose good will.
  4. This is hopefully fixed by the damage model for all WW2 planes that is already in testing and will be released "soon". Not sure if its worth filing bug reports for the current placeholder DM anymore.

That depends on what bugs are causing your frustration. Some are quite old.
  6. There are more than 3200 NM of mostly open ocean between Pearl Harbor and the Marianas...
  7. Syria will be the proper map for our MiG-21.
  8. Marketing aside, I can imagine that Magnitude is also waiting for ED to finalize some related features first. The new WW2 DM, weapons and most likely ED is making some changes to the core engine to better simulate the R-2800. I expect a Q4 release and some short but intense marketing push before.
  9. The niche of the A8 in late 1944 scenarios should be its role as a bomber destroyer as in RL.
  10. In DCS world the Blackburn Roc and Boulton Paul Defiant would have been the dominant fighters of WW2.
  11. For this year I would only expect the units ED talked about in more recent newsletters. C-47 transport, functional V1 flying bomb, QF 3.7-inch AA gun, 37 mm Gun M1, M45 Quadmount that can be used on different platforms. A conventional bomber version of the Ju 88 would be quite logical. Plus the regular modules: P-47D, Fw-190F8 and G8 variants. Maybe Mosquito as AI first.
  12. Sometime ago a RAZBAM representative said in the Harrier forum that ED is still waiting for some data to correctly model the GBU-32. The AV-8B needs this weapons too, even more so because it can't carry 2000 pound class weapons.
  13. They made a lot of changes to make the torpedoes functional. Including maps and visibility of under water objects.
  14. My guess is that your AoA became too high and your left wing stalls. I must have crashed the Fw 190 dozens of times because of this when I was learning to take off correctly. It is important to center the stick at 120 kph. At that speed ruder authority is sufficient to keep the plane straight and it is not longer required to lock the tail wheel. I've found this video to be very helpful. It is explained at about the 18:00 minute mark.
  15. You can already man the turrets aboard the new German Schnellboot. Just won my first battle with a Higgins boat. I hope more naval functionality will follow soon in wake of the Super Carrier release.
  16. Because people already paid for Super Carrier? Imagine the uproar if ED releases another new module into EA first.
  17. I certainly hope so. If the Luftwaffe can get a few pilots carrier qualified, small detachments of German Growlers could operate from Charles de Gaulle. This would strengthen the Franco-German collaboration and the European contribution to Nato as a whole, freeing US assets for use elsewhere. A valuable experience in light of the common FCAS project and a relieve for the US, thus everybody should be pleased.
  18. The same when the original Il2 was actively developed in in the early 2002. "Two weeks, be sure" Universal flight sim classic apparently.
  19. As far as I know DCS turns off any detailed FM calculations as soon as an aircraft is counted as destroyed. Hence all kind of weird maneuvers can happen.
  20. IFF was mainly utilized by command centers trying to direct the air war on a national level, which had map tables on which friendly or enemy aircraft were projected as red or green dots, but not by manually aimed AAA defending airfields or ground forces. Hence the bright red underbellies of Fw-190D9s defending Me 262 airfields or the high German losses due to their own flak during operation Bodenplatte.
  21. +1 The quickly approaching Easter Holidays would surely be a good opportunity for some development update.
  22. German test report says that oil temperature raises to critical levels during climb, which are only tolerable for 15 minutes, hence the 10 minute limit. Cylinderhead temperatures were ok during all flight regimes. I doubt the engine will survive for long if proper lubrication is no longer guaranteed, but it does not sound like the engine will fail after 11 minutes. http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/fw190/BMW_VB_126.pdf
  23. Last time I tried skip bombing a few updates ago my bomb acted like a floating mine. By using a delayed fuse I could drop my bomb into the water in front of the ship and then wait until it hopefully exactly explodes at the right time when the ship is moving over the bomb. But when using skip bombing tactics the bomb will not stick to the target, but fall through the ship into the water and explode when the ship has already moved on.
  24. Last word was the ATFLIR will only come after the new IR model is implemented in DCS World.
  25. This. I can understand that the people at ED are very enthusiastic about the stuff they are working on and want to show it. But it just looks very bad if words as "as soon as possible" in this assets pack and WW2 DM newsletter from 2017 apparently mean three years plus. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/newsletters/newsletter02062017.html
