  1. I thought you were leaving?....
  2. You know the funniest thing about your childish response is you have no idea what you are talking about, or who you are talking too. If you had been around here for more than 5 mins you would know I am harder on ED than anyone, and certainly don't 'blindly worship the alter of ED' - the forum mods will back me up on that lol. Also yes you are right, being an adult it does trigger me when idiots being a smart ass ask stupid, obvious troll questions intended for one reason only.
  3. Did you see Cobalts reply above yours? You don't 'press the trigger' to launch weapons/drop bombs - that is cannon only in the Viper.
  4. A-G radar mode – will there ever be one? No...no there won't be. DCS are creating a highly realistic simulation of the F-16 Fighting Falcon but will not be including any A-G radar functionality..... You know when people say there are no stupid questions....they lie.
  5. ......I really don’t think there’s a better dogfighting aircraft out there..." I wonder if he ever went up against/flew a Mig-29? Watched some interesting documentaries and podcasts (Fighter Pilot Podcast with Indian Air Force Air Marshal Harish “Fulcrum 1” Masand is really good) on those lately with plenty of comments from long-time pilots of the aircraft. Is noted even turning at max-G they need to reduce the throttle or else the aircraft will over-speed....now THAT is power! It must have been nice for the term 'energy bleed' not to apply to you when flying a fighter lol.
  6. OMG how long have you been flying DCS with cockpit textures set to low - yikes. Also just FYI but 1024 every frame is unnecessary and costly - 512 or just the 1024 setting is fine for the MFD displays.
  7. Probably a little dramatic bro. I don't have 20/20 vision either, play in VR, and struggle to read the MFD's, and I certainly don't think I have 'wasted' $80. I just deal with it.
  8. Should rename that thread to Limited Acceptable Deferred Rectifications (LADR) thread  All pilots have to read and accept the contents and limitations to the aircraft before each flight :music_whistling: Obviously having it updated with current issues would be ideal - but note it was for 'at launch' only. At least if it was updated regularly people could easily see what was supposed to be working and what is not.
  9. Just a small point - you don't need to un-check then re-check the box on the settings page as stated in the OP. Just change the IPD number directly in the box and it automatically updates.
  10. :shocking:
  11. I was also just going to mention you shouldn't have any need to muck around with profiles at this stage just doing basic bombing. They are intended for more complex A-G attacks where you can engage using different parameters during one engagement without having to program the variations mid-attack, you just quickly swap profiles. Along those lines you won't really need to muck around with MFD pages too much either at this stage. A lot of them are actually not currently modelled anyway. You only need the HSD and SMS for the RH MFD, and the Radar for the left, plus the TGP once you move onto precision munitions. I would have a look into CCIP vs CCRP and become familiar with delayed release cues etc - as your problems were probably more related to that
  12. This makes for interesting reading if you are so inclined to learn more about AB thrust augmentation, using F-111 TF-30 & F-16 F-100 engine as examples. https://authors.library.caltech.edu/21303/1/251_Zukoski_EE_1978.pdf Of specific interest as while Afterburner operation in the various 'zones' (or number of spray rings in use) is controlled a metered quantity of fuel, the AB operation is also dependant on local pressure, which is controlled by the diameter of the exhaust. So while the core engine Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) is directly relative to the external conditions such as pressure/density/temperature, and subsequently the fuel flow is directly proportional to these inputs (so FF reduces with altitude - as with less oxygen you need less fuel, which would actually result in less performance, but this is offset by the benefits gained by the standard 'temperature lapse rate' of 1.98°C /1000' to 36,000' increasing density) - the AB is not so much entirely constrained by these as augmentation occurs in an entirely isolated environment which has been controlled already to provide for engine combustion, hence you see the exhaust nozzle movement with altitude changes which subsequently controls the local pressure in the exhaust - and therefore not such a large change in AB fuel flow is required as seen with the core engine. Also take note of the Air-Fuel ratio used in the augmentation system varies from the standard stoichiometric ratio, being considerably lower thanks to the inherent design of the flame holder system. Hope I explained that clearly lol. Obviously the entire process is a little more complicated, - feel free to read the document at the above link.
  13. Awesome man - nice work. You are in for a treat then as DCS really does a good job of bringing military realism to the home sim as best they can. The Viper is a pretty good place to start as it is very early access and many of the systems are either simplified or not modelled at the moment, so the hill isn't that steep currently to start flying it competently and using the limited systems available. As the mod develops and more complexity is introduced, you can just slowly add it to your current knowledge. :book: I know it is hard to resist - but just start with the basics as you do learning a real aircraft and get comfortable with flying the aircraft, so core systems, take-off, basic handling, landing etc, and slowly introduce weapons employment later...but we all just wanna blow stuff up right ha Wags from DCS has made a series of basics vids on YT to help get you started -
  14. ^This! All those people that say there are no silly questions are full of 'it'. If you have absolutely exhausted all sources of information such as the aircraft manual etc and still can't find the elusive information you are after - by all means ask. If it is not covered anywhere chances are it is a non-standard situation. DCS is striving for 'realism' - here is some. IRL You sure as anything better not go to your IP on the squadron and ask a question that is clearly covered in the flight manual etc!- spend 10 minutes searching for the answer yourself. Because if you do it to many times, generally questions will start being asked as to why you are even qualified as aircrew at all...and you may not be for much longer! Granted in DCS there is nothing to lose so people take the easy route - and generally people on the forums here are more than happy to help. But seriously, in the end you will get much more personal satisfaction locating and absorbing the required information yourself. Unsurprisingly the information you are after is clearly documented in the included DCS F-16C EA Guide - APG-68 Fire Control Radar section. I hope you can take this post in the constructive way it is intended  Edit: Ah yea - also saw you didn't even know there was a manual - so sorta explains it lol Sounds like you got it sorted thou, good stuff.
  15. From the default CNI page just hit 1 - 16 - ENTR Done.
  16. That 1 mid-week bug-fix...for when you ABSOLUTELY CAN'T WAIT till the weekend to fire your rockets...
  17. Edit: 4th times a charm - downloaded eventually. Looking fwd to checking it out - cheers for sharing.
  18. DMS Left, DMS Right, and DMS Down >1 sec all toggle the JHMCS at the moment. It is a known bug - should just be the last option.
  19. I would venture to say if 'staying competitive on most MP servers' is important to you, you may like to look at an aircraft that is not freshly released in a very early WIP state. You may also like to work on improving your own SA abilities in the cockpit by using the tools available to you currently in the Viper, such as RWR, Radar, Radio, eyeballs etc. I can assure you it is possible to stay alive and 'competitive' in real life by using these 'tools' when your data link system (Link-11 in my personal experience) is not functioning correctly - which was a lot in our case! All just IMHO. ED probably want to concentrate on core features of the aircraft before implementing things such as data-link.
  20. Yeah, but look at how much better the displays are in your pics compared to what we currently have at the moment regarding clarity/contrast etc....
  21. Yep using a FSSB R3 as well and easily getting similar roll rates to the vid, cranking the stick over to max force. If you are in VR are you using a 3rd party beeper program to hear in your headset when you are at max force in any axis, as it is hard to hear the built-in beeper? I use FreePIE and a script to beep like the Gripen does - have mine set to slow beep at 90% and fast beep at 100% force - Usually always manoeuvre at slow beep force.
  22. If you have a Warthog and want to follow the actual F-16 stick layout and use my file above - just leave CMS FWD as CMS FWD on your stick and select the program you want to use on the panel - and map Slap Switch as CMS Left which is Emergency Release of 10 of each. (until ED map CMS Left correctly which should release Program 6).
