[CORRECT AS IS] Is everyone seeing this kind of performance?
VampireNZ replied to Wicked.-'s topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Yep using a FSSB R3 as well and easily getting similar roll rates to the vid, cranking the stick over to max force. If you are in VR are you using a 3rd party beeper program to hear in your headset when you are at max force in any axis, as it is hard to hear the built-in beeper? I use FreePIE and a script to beep like the Gripen does - have mine set to slow beep at 90% and fast beep at 100% force - Usually always manoeuvre at slow beep force. -
Counter Measures single deployment does not work.

If you have a Warthog and want to follow the actual F-16 stick layout and use my file above - just leave CMS FWD as CMS FWD on your stick and select the program you want to use on the panel - and map Slap Switch as CMS Left which is Emergency Release of 10 of each. (until ED map CMS Left correctly which should release Program 6). -

[REPORTED] Sidewinder AIM-9M UNCAGE in HUD
VampireNZ replied to imacken's topic in Bugs and Problems
Guys, I think we have discovered the problem - ED don't know the difference between the Caged FPM and the Caged Sidewinder seeker :helpsmilie:.... But seriously - I have noticed the seeker won't uncage and follow the heat source lately either. Just checked my mapping and the UNCAGE Switch is still mapped properly. -
DCS F-16 Countermeasures are not effective enough
VampireNZ replied to bennyboy9800's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I have just attached my OvGME-ready mod to easily adjust your CMDS for now to the profiles in my attached kneeboard ref pic. Obviously feel free to edit as stated above. Just place in your usual Mod folder and enable in OvGME. I have also mapped the slap-switch to CMS-Left and use it as Profile 6. F-16C CMDS Programs.rar -
[sIM LATER IN EARLY ACCESS] HUD SIM Indication Aah - so I take it you are just going to simulate incorporating this indication later in early access? :hehe:

Yea that is very strange. As is the fact the Viper has an entire RWR sounds folder that isn't being touched at the moment. Pretty happy at the moment just changing out those basic files - that new threat sound is so wrong and was super annoying lol. Also sorry I don't have the Hornet - my least-liked jet of all time lol.
-
Also hoping for an Auto-Cool for the sidewinders when entering DF mode.

It is stated in the Weekend News thread - While not a complete list, here are our priority items for the Hornet and Viper in our roadmap (please note that the items listed are not in any sequential order): 'Steerpoints must auto-sequence when option selected from STPTY DED page' https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4069345&postcount=219 Wags is obviously flying a different build in the linked video - note the cursors on the HSD etc. FYI you can cycle between MAN and AUTO exactly like in Wags video...just just does nothing atm.

Following here also! I totally realise there are 1001 other things to do for the Viper....but I mean come on ED, it took me 5 mins to chuck realistic versions of MissileAlert, MissileLaunch, StatusChange and Waterfall in C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\F-16\Cockpit\Tones, so you at least have some semblence of a proper RWR while we wait for some actual threat indicator tones. Looking forward to someone adding a more comprehensive RWR tones mod at some point. Given that it is something you generally hear the entire time you are flying the aircraft - the priority on these seems surprising.
-
Use AREA mode and I would make sure you have an adequate DZ on both your cursor control axis.
-
Not seen anything like that myself. Try a DCS repair, delete the fxo and shader folders and restart PC maybe?
-
Awesome - so does that mean we all now have a limited edition, no longer available, authentic orange metal VKB Black Box - nice!

Pilot model is still WIP....finger crossed! :)

Yep +1 on this. I have actually used DCS against itself to help solve this one. Using a DSD button box rotary encoder in the Viper for say a volume knob or EHSI course is worse than painful, requiring substantially more rotations of the encoder compared to the control in the cockpit - so I have mapped the manual roll trim wheel to a rotary encoder, and now 1 click of the encoder results in a much more sensitive application of roll trim than the trim hat.
-
+1 Just seen the green circle so far.

Perfect example below of how it should work - tadpole should not be related to bank angle - it stays where it is and you bank over to place the FPM on the tadpole and level out. Note in this vid how you can bank left and right over the tadpole and it stays 'still' relative to the desired direction, not shooting left and right across the HUD with bank angle changes.

Hehe cracks me up. VKB start voting poll - Does the F-14 stick need a twist function? 80% of respondants say NO it does not. VKB..."Sweet...Lockable contactless sensor twist mechanism added" Hey I am all for options right - but still kinda funny.
-
+1 Absolutely would be keen for that. Perfect addition to my FSSB R3.

Ideally the aircraft is supposed to throw up a STORES CONFIG warning if you have the system loaded with specific stores loadout and the CAT I/III switch is in the wrong position. We were always told - learn your lights and their meanings! You would be surprised how many aircrew 'think' they know exactly what a specific caution light actually means! STORES CONFIG Caution Light - STORES CONFIG switch is in incorrect position or loading category in SMS software disagrees with actual GP/STORE/LINE loading category.

fixed [REPORTED]HUD AOA bracket and -2.5° dashed pitch line size
VampireNZ replied to falconbr's topic in Bugs and Problems
+1 Yea it looks like the staple needs to move right with the associated shortening of the legs. In the vids it generally intersects the most INBD LH pitch bar, whilst the DCS one intersects the next OTBD one. -
Just an observation, you are unable to declutter the ILS steering guidance from the HUD once visual with the runway using the UNCAGE button on throttle. Generally you remove all precision guidance once you are visual above MDA, not sure if this appllies to the F-16, or if this model aircraft has that specific capability. Worth checking with the SME's. Same result can be achieved by hitting the EHSI Mode button - but would be much easier using UNCAGE on short final. System specs, map etc. irrelevant - it's just not modelled. Was going to include a track but not much point showing nothing happening whilst pushing a HOTAS button - just visualise an ILS approach...and nothing else happening :). Unable to provide reference due 1.16. Edit: Copy the classification (LATER IN EARLY ACCESS), Cheers guys.
