  1. I've tinkered with under volting my FE. Very satisfied with the cooler GPU/VRAM temps (which helps keep performance consistent). Lot's of good info on the 'net regarding this.
  2. going from a CV1 to a VP2??? Hubba, hubba!!!
  3. came across this, rather recent. (wish the music in the background was off though). forward to 1:47 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDqieDVLxGI
  4. Really love flying the Jug, and using the HVAR rockets. I've managed to take out a couple Tiger's at one point after many runs.... But that's the issue, I'm trying to figure out the best way to aim them. (I realize they're not an accurate weapon, but I do wish to increase my odds). I generally roll into my target at about 2K feet of altitude, and a very shallow dive rate. Making sure I'm trimmed out as best as possible to minimize drift. I generally fire the HVAR rockets from about a 1,000 feet away. If I use the fixed site, the rockets (which are heavy) always fall short. If I use the 40mils line, I'm a bit better with the target, but I'm still missing. I do keep an eye on the gyro site, just to let me know if I'm drifting on my target approach. Just curious what some of the other weapons experts are managing with the HVAR, and how you line things up.
  5. I just want to know if Don got his ship notice! (we're pulling for you Don, plus we want your user report).
  6. I dropped to "standard" from "ultra". There was a noticeable performance impact with the recent update, but I'm very appreciative of DCS working to fix the jittery clouds. For now, I'm fine with living at "standard" for my cloud settings.
  7. Just to be clear, you're saying the recent Steam VR (beta?) is crashing for you? Just after the recent update? I'm running SVR Beta 1.17.11 - I had three crashes yesterday, (which I'll investigate further today. After the Indy 500). It may not be SVR (beta's) fault though, I've been tweaking on my rig. but If I get another crash today, I may switch out of SVR beta completely, and go with production. A while back, I did opt out of WMR beta, and have not been having issues since doing that.
  8. I've never enabled it, I've been fine flying without it. But that's just me. For folks who do use it, and you like it, cool beans.
  9. I put in the inserts, and then went out on a couple flights with the Jug. Definitely an improvement, and glad I went with them. I do see things a bit better now. Well worth the minor investment for 'em!
  10. Woot! just got my lenses moments ago. I ordered them last Thursday, and they're here the following Thursday. Not so bad for being shipped via Germany. Later today, (after I finish work), I'll give them a whirl.
  11. This is what I've done on one of my hosts in the past, and it worked quite well.
  12. I had the exact same issue re the cable. Got a replacement and have taken a slightly different routing option to avoid the flex... good point about adding a little slack! @OP - thanks for the post and insight
  13. Went to the eye Dr. today. Via the exam, got a new prescription, and just ordered these inserts. looking forward to checking them out. (I don't fly with glasses, was always worried about scratching the G2 lens).
  14. Hola BN, the issues appears to be with the latest WMR Beta. I'm able to run SteamVR beta with the latest production version of WMR. No issue. It's just when going with the latest SteamVR beta and WMR beta, things go south. I've no complaints since pairing Steam VR beta with WMR production. My Jug and K-4 are just rock'n
  15. are you saying no issue, after you've installed the Win10 2021-05 cumulative update (KB5003173)? which came out on May 11th, and you're now using wmr beta just fine? I've not tested wmr beta on KB5003173 as of yet. The prior Win10 version I had, and the latest wmr beta, I had issues with wmr. Until I backed out of the beta and went with wmr production
  16. buddy, I can almost make a prediction...
  17. hey buddy, we can always find a way to rationalize our sim/VR addiction... "hi group, my name is Jav, and I'm a VR-holic...."
  18. I had to back out of the WMR for Steam VR Beta over last weekend. it corrected my issues as well.
  19. I gave it the old tried and true method, "eyeball and fart..." 55 looks good to me in the Jug, and I'm sticking with it.
  20. I had to bailout on that last WMR for Steam VR Beta as well. My standard Jug mission kept going Tango Uniform on me, and crashing out. After uninstalling, and then going with the standard prod version of WMR for Steam VR, all is well. Flew both the Jug mission, and managed to get a nice flight in with the K-4. All is well....
  21. bummer man! but I bet you could still manage to find a full beer mug at the local officers club?
  22. Love it! brings back memories!
  23. Hi Burt, not to side track the thread. If you haven't done so, take a look on internet threads regarding under volting the 3080/3090's. folks are still able to get the desired performance, with reduced temps, etc...
