  1. amen brother! using the Oculus software/startup is heaven compared to the convoluted WMR...
  2. ^^^ THIS! I've been using it for quite a while now. Works fantastic.
  3. I saw that earlier as well. cool. I'll give it a whirl this evening.
  4. Just a follow-up after a few flights with this control. Just awesome! thank you Mikhail! It only took me a few minutes to adjust from using TM Warthog throttle, to the Mikhail "collective". I've been flying the Mi-8, and just love having this control. Really gives me a sense of flying a chopper. My overall rating thus far for this control/collective: Excellent! Would I recommend the Mikhail collective?: Hell Yes! Out of the box, it's ready to rock for the Mi-8. All tuned, and ready to go! Mikhail also provides recommended settings and curves for the Huey. -jav
  5. gracias! really appreciated M8!
  6. I've also installed, but won't be able to test out until this evening. As SOH noted, I wasn't really seeing any stuttering issues, even when using the punk driver. But I'll give this one a whirl....
  7. that alone would rate two snaps up! sure hope so. thanks for the heads up.
  8. that F-86 looks awesome! are you able to share it? would love to have a copy and fly with it.
  9. and very appreciated buddy! I love the Jug. She's my go too WWII bird!
  10. exactly, one of the smoothest business transactions I've made. Mikhail is great! I paid on Dec 24th, and he dropped it off for shipment on the 25th. For me, placement of the order on the 24th, and I received the control on Jan 14th. YMMV.
  11. I guess I kinda went ape sh*t on the NVMe's. My O/S is one, DCS and flight sims are on a second, and I have my swapfile on a third. Plus, I'm using a Samsung SSD (2TB), for my Steam "junk" file/games... Yes, i had to do a delicate dance to avoid "gimping" any of my bus/lane speeds, which I have. My config is an overkill? sure, but I love it.... As much as I have invested in this hobby, it's insane...
  12. Just delivered today via Santa Claus, who stopped by Moscow to pick this up. Overall, took about 3 1/2 weeks for shipment. Very well boxed and secured. I'll be trying out my new control this weekend. thanks K-51!!!!
  13. If your sig is current with your rig, going from a CV1 to G2, you betcha!
  14. hoping you feel better now, getting that all out. I can sense and feel it too! honest, we do. But indeed, each rig is different, and thus requires some unique tweaks. my Rift S remains "plan b". But I've been very happy with the G2. BN's thread has been very helpful with further opening up the discussion and info exchange.
  15. Indeed, my Rift S served me well over the course of its duty cycle. But I'm very happy with my current G2. Hope you get your replacement soon!
  16. Like you buddy, I love mine too. Ain't gonna give 'er up. Regardless, I'm following this thread. Interesting info/input!
  17. Whoa, what broke? Just doesn't power up anymore? (Hence, I'm keeping my Rift S as a backup, in case my G2 has any issues over the course of the warranty, Yikes!)
  18. not the best picture, but I think it illustrates the point. the lower face plate is the one I saw that was recommended for the VRcover, (Odyssey+). You can definitely see that it's wider at the wings, which is what they're noting is needed for that particular gasket. Unfortunately, I went against my better 3D printing instincts and went with the default settings that was noted in the model instructions. It feels flimsy... During the raft clean up, I did snap part of it, but was able to use some Bob Smith CA to get her back together. I'm now printing a second version of that particular face plate. Using a layer height of .20, and an infill of 40%. (Twice the recommended level). That should sturdy things up. Also, my magnets have a chance of being delivered today. Though the second print of the face plate won't finish until later this evening. Regardless, I'll provide an update. regards, -Jav
  19. this is usually a good first step for a lot of similar issues. cheap and easy to do.
  20. quick update, still doing a little work with the new mask setup. The first pic is "stock", and the second shows the recent face plate I finished printing yesterday. The new plate definitely sits up a bit closer. I also just received my new gaskets via VRcover today... I plan to Velcro that onto the face plate, once ready. I'm now printing out this setup, since the author did a remix to fit the gasket I just purchased. That print should finish in about 6 or 7 hours. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4673045 Also, I need to order some N52 4mm OD x 5mm magnets, which I'll hunt down today. But for the mock-up and initial fitment purposes, I should be fine with out the magnets. I'll post further updates. -Jav
  21. Hi Terry, I'm using a Creality CR-10S. It's probably one of the most modded 3D printers you can find. Plenty of "stuff" out there to read up about it. Send me a PM, if you wish more info. I'll be happy to share. It took a bit, after the modding, and configuration settings, etc. But I'm very happy with it. Also, I'm using a Raspberry Pi 4 as my print server. Running Octoprint, it's great for managing a 3D printer. thx, -Jav
  22. It was a 12 hour print, and one of the more nerve racking cleanups for removing the supports. (Was being extremely careful not to "snap" anything. Here's a couple of pics. It did "pop" into my G2, so the originator of this design (via Thingiverse), congrats! It still needs a little more clean up, but overall, I'm happy with the output. I used the recommended settings via the developer for the print.... (details on Thingiverse). I'm now just awaiting my VRcover, which should be inbound today. After I'm finished with the whole setup, I'll post more detailed pics. Plus an action report.
  23. cool beans! my FrankenFOV cover arrived at the local post office today. I should have it tomorrow, and my print is about 60% complete. I'll definitely post some picks tomorrow, once I have everything in place.
  24. will do. I ordered one of these covers noted in the video, which shipped from Thailand on Dec 10th. It landed in New Jersey on the 22nd. Just awaiting for it to make it's way to Arizona. I'll then attach to this printed face plate.
  25. Via task manager, I've stopped the Oculus runtime service. Don't have an issue with it running in the background. I' still keep the Oculus software around, (for now). I've had good success with running Revive, which allows me to run my Oculus library on my G2. further info: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-play-oculus-rift-games-windows-mixed-reality
