  1. I just pulled the trigger.... but I would think they'll give a heads up as to when, (once they're confident of the release date).
  2. Sure YMMV, but the nonetheless it's interesting to see some sort of baseline measure to compare. At least it gives the potential. The rest is up to you pilot! :) (thanks OP, very interesting)
  3. Cool beans buddy, thanks!
  4. Indeed! if anything, I would think there are elements via the Bug, that might be assisting the Viper. (But I've never coded a simulator).;)
  5. Awesome vid, nice work!
  6. very nice work! thank you for the post.
  7. Thanks Miles! I appreciate the additional info. I did calibrate in the window mode, and I do fly in full screen. (Only because I believe the full screen helps with the Rift performance). Later tonight, after the grand-kids nod off, I'll do the calibration in full screen, etc, and then report back. No worries buddy! I love this device, and you're doing Yeoman work here. Much appreciated! thx, -Jav
  8. Hola, This thread is a bit long, and I'm not sure how/what to search to help answer. So I figured to post this. First and foremost, when I have PointCTRL configured, (the base calibration), all is well! I love it. What is weird is this. I've gone through the base calibration a few times. All is well with my FCU's and pointers, and being able to click away just fine, right after I finish that calibration session. It's only when I step away for a day or two that I encounter this. I'll fire up OTT, turn on the FCU's, validate that I get a green light with the FCU and the HMS, start up Oculus (running it with homeless), Voice attack, then DCS. It seems at this point all of my calibration settings are shifted to the right. The cursors, etc.. My left FCU doesn't track fully to the left side. Everything seems to be shifted to the right. So I'll go back and perform the base calibration, (no edge). Once complete, then my left and right FCU's are back on target. So it's a little frustrating that after a base calibration session, it doesn't appear to keep the orientation I've set, (once I step away and power down the computer). Yes, I do keep the USB and all plugged in for PointCTRL. When I do, the HMS has both a green and red light on (while the compute is off). So is there a proper startup session or sequence I need to follow? OTT, Power on the FCU's, check that they track, bring up Oculus, and then Voice attack. Start DCS ??? Guidance appreciated. TIA, -Jav
  9. Definitely. I could "suffer" with a reduced FOV, to sacrifice for resolution.
  10. Received my PC earlier this week, and finally had a chance this weekend for a shakedown. Took me three attempts to get what I felt was a good baseline calibration, but I don't consider this an issue. Just me fine tuning and learning the calibration feature. (Later down the road, once I'm more familiar with PC, I'll then complete the Edge calibration). Post calibration, I went right to the Turkey and no problem at all using PC with the ramp start. Went airborne, was able to setup for AA and intercept an inbound bomber, (and took it out). All the while using PC. Miles, this little devil is awesome! thank you for developing PointCTRL. WOOT!
  11. thanks buddy! I've things all hooked up now... gonna have some fun shaking this thing down over the weekend!
  12. Sorry if I missed this. Does the HMS always remain in a powered on state, (obviously when the computer is on and it's USB is plugged in), even if you don't intend to use the your VR/HMD? I have the HMS red glow and was wondering if there's a way to power off without unplugging? If it's designed to have that on state regardless of being in use or not, no issue. Maybe I missed that piece in my reading. kind regards, -Jav
  13. I've been using this: Phanteks Enthoo Pro No issues with using the NH D15 cooler. spec's noted below. Not sure about the positive air pressure thingy though...
  14. I remember reading somewhere that the Marines also noted they'd be happy to take 'em as well... Maybe it was just some of the grunts (for sure).
  15. Gracias! Love HB's focus. It'll get dialed in. :megalol:
  16. Hey now, thanks Mom! :-)
  17. cool beans... I'll place my order this weekend... :-)
  18. d*mn dude, now that's a fouled deck. A dead bug, still trapped.... :) did you end up swabbing the decks, and scrubbing the heads for that?? ;)
  19. It's become just a general practice for me. Delete the fxo and metashader2 folders after any update push. Will be great that this becomes just part of the standard patch updates...
  20. Completely agree! Love the Turkey. It's the mod that speaks to you when flying her. You can feel those shudders starting to creep up in your AoA....
  21. Incredible video! thanks!
  22. I'm using the stock, installed cam/springs. I like the feel. Others may think it's more prone to wobble. Regardless, I like it, and I do like having the WarBRD base vs. the original TM base.
  23. Ditto!
  24. For a while there, I use a bucket seat from an '87 Buick. Worked great!
  25. I just wrote the check.... ;)
