  1. I forced my copilot to disembark because he farts all the time  I landed on top of the mast so his fumes won't bother anyone else. ;)
  2. I really don't think this needs to be "fixed". Sure it is hard doing a hover (without the "Q" key) but it is definitly possible. If you don't manage a take-off in DCS like the ones you see in the youtube videos of real-life Gazelle's isn't Polychop's fault. With some practice and joystick axis adjustments, takeing off into a hoover is definitly possible. Everybody seems to have different joystick settings. I would recommend 70% saturation on the Y axis of both pitch and roll and a very slight curvature. This helped me a lot personally.
  3. Ok. Fair enough! :)
  4. I found the Mi-8 indeed a Hippo after flying the Gazelle exclusivly for a few days. Just janking the stick around that much to get anywhere seems unnatural. :D
  5. Excuse me, I don't mean to be rude. But I think turning off the fuel pump should be one of the first things you do. This ensures the engine 'sucks' out any fuel, leaving the pipes as dry as possible. After that, I think you should pull the yellow fuel lever, leaving the rotor spinning a bit. Shut-off the generator and alternater and all electrical power consumers. And then pull the red lever (rotorbrake) so the rotor stops spinning. I don't have any reference for this, it just makes more sense to me. Something that is not covered in the start-up mission is that you can switch-off the starter (DEM) switch after the engine is running.
  6. The vid with your daughter in the 'chair' is really cool. :) About the seat: "It made it ten times scarier!" :D
  7. Interesting start-up vid with the english guy. He disengages the starter switch and he switches the fuel pump a few times.
  8. My installation didn't want to update. I fixed it with "DCS_Updater.exe install @openbeta" The key here is to have the proper open beta version as mentioned in the post above. If you go into the module manager afterwards (and log-in!) It should pop-up a little window wich ask fir permission to download the Gazelle. Anyways, I think it is because of the weekend rush these kind of problems.
  9. Due to the Americans having an 120V electrical grid and Europeans having 230V grid, European cables are much thinner and so, easier to cut. Besides, why do you purposely fly into cables?
  10. Those kind of pictures are forbidden on the forum :music_whistling::megalol:
  11. Version 2 is now uploaded. Stupid me flattened all the layers on the PSD template! - Now has the layered template added with the actual layers - few small tweaks added in the text. - Contains a "Kneeboard" map. If you put this in the: C:\Users\(yourname)\Saved games\DCS.openalpha map. The checklists show up as pages in the kneeboard. It will show up in the kneeboard of other modules as well. Currently it is not possible to haveing it show up in the Gazelle kneeboard only. It is optional. Enjoy! Pieter "Platypus" Stam
  12. You have to assign it again for the Gazelle.
  13. Yeah. I got a picture there with a hot French chick i once dated. ☺
  14. It is an autopilot/sas function.
  15. Altitude mode works. It holds barometric altitude. It automatically disengages when airspeef is below 120 km/h or something. But you'll have to consult the manual for that.
  16. User made kneeboard pages don't work with the Gazelle for now. But the images I provided in the zip file can be easily modified to kneeboard pages in DCS when this function becomes available for the Gazelle.
  17. What can I say? In Las Vegas you gamble with everything. Life insurance is not really in the spirit of Vegas!
  18. Can't fly any other chopper in DCS and still enjoy it. Please make it crappier. :( :music_whistling: :megalol: Noooooo DON'T!!!!!!!! This chopper certainly has its quirks. But in the few days I've grown very fond of it. Please don't change any of the flight dynamics!!!!
  19. Now let's hope ED adds the SA-342 as a category to their upload section soon!! ;)
  20. I made this start-up checklist for myself. It shows the Start-up procedure for the SA-342 Gazelle and the awesome Viviane sighting system. I provided a PDF wich is easily printable, an image file and the original PSD template so you can easily edit the checklist yourself. Version 2 - Now has the layered template added with the actual layers - few small tweaks added in the text. Enjoy! Pieter "Platypus" Stam https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1894207/
  21. First, calibrate the pedals in windows. Second, set the axis in DCS as "Slider" and with a fair amount of deadzone. I hope this helps. But I think your pedals need new pot-meters.
  22. Please add the SA342 Gazelle as a module in the userfiles uploads section of the website. :smartass:
