  1. Please, add some curves and less saturation to the rudder. Also, use auto-hoover when you want to fire a missile. You can't really use the auto-hoover function to land. It is not cheating, the auto-hoover is a funciton on the real Gazelle as well.
  2. "I can't fly it, so it must be wrong" :music_whistling::megalol::lol:
  3. This is true. But my desk space is limited and I want to use my joystick for different things then only the Gazelle (or the Huey for that matter) I sold my G940. It was brilliant with force-trim on the HELO's available for DCS at the time. But it was horrible with other DCS modules.
  4. I find the Mi-8 a LOT more stable. (well, it is five times as heavy) and you can jank the stick around quite a bit before it gets uncontrollable. But the Gazelle really needs a silky smooth touch or it'll crash.
  5. There's tactics for more powerfull enemies. Does the AI look through trees? If so, the Tunguska might be a problem. I think staying hidden is the key to survival in the Gazelle. It hasn't got that many flares either. In theory it is possible to shoot heli's with ATGM. But does the AI know that?
  6. Should be possible with the Warthog TARGET software... But it is an interesting feature.
  7. Rotaries as assignable axis for the TV brightness/contrast settings. English cockpit for the UK version at least?
  8. Yes please! :music_whistling::lol:
  9. The Z axis should be your rudder input. For choppers, it is absolutely essential to have that on an axis. The collective can be keyboard bound, but an axis is also recommended.
  10. Yeah. But in order to use auto-hoover, you can't go too fast in the horizontal and vertical. So going 200km/h and hitting that button doesn't do anything. You can't go over 18km/h horizontally (forward, backward, sideways) and I'm not sure on the vertical speed. Also, enable the controls indicator (Rctrl + enter) and you'll see an 'auto-hoover' indication on it when it is enabled. It does however not keep the heli perfectly rock stable. It usually sways a bit from left to right and so fort.
  11. Oh yes. Absolutely. Auto-hoover is usable. When flying with zero curves or dead-zone, only about 20% of stick travel in either direction is actually usable if you want to live. Most of the time, you'll be making 1 or 2% corrections. Also, once established in forward flight, you don't need any rudder input much. Not even when making turns. Also, assign the trim up/down and left/right to a joystick hat.
  12. Zero on everything...
  13. I need a bit of help and I think it would be good to see some discussion on this issue. By now, I think all of us have crashed the Gazelle a few times because of its exceptional 'agility' I have a normal joystick without any length modifications and seperate rudder pedals. With other DCS Helis, I have all three curves set on "25". I can pinpoint the Mi-8 anywhere I want (including hoovering without hand on the stick) and I am a decent UH-1 pilot. But the Gazelle is giving me a handfull. So now I am flying it without and custom joystick curves or responses at all and no dead-zone. Most of the time, I can keep it airborne now. But I am very curious at the setup of other people (or one of the Polychop guys!) This includes curves, use of trimmer button, trimmer hat and magnetic brake.
  14. A surprisingly detailed and well done module. Art-work (3D and texture), systems modelling and flight modelling seems very complete to me. There is lots of stuff to discover and I need a lot of time developping "Muscle memory" for it. But it is awesome and fun to learn!
  15. If you use the trim left/right and up/down, it automatically disengages and returns to un-trimmed state after you move the stick a bit. Is this a bug or a feature?
  16. Make it possible to have Custom Kneeboard pages to show up.
  17. Axis for radio frequency? I thought it was all buttons? Weapon selection is also easy now. You have commands to turn the knob clockwise or anti-clockwise. So you can use an encoder for that. It can not be realistically mapped to an axis I think. Since a potmeter can not go round and round. Most models will stop at 300degrees rotation.
  18. Israëlian has a desert skin!
  19. So it isn't me? I got this as well. But it'll probably be easy fixable with an extra line in a LUA file somewhere.
  20. I think it is modelled. Watch your VSI closely as you decend it from a kind of hoover situation. It kicks in at about 20m to 10m.
  21.:megalol: It took me an hour or two practicing and with a bit of luck, I managed this. It'll probably be a while before I can do this by routine like in the Mi-8.
  22. Don't touch the radio... Correct Radio menu can be accesed by R-alt+\ key.
  23. It feels like only 20% of your joystick travel is actually usable if you want to live. D@mn... :D
  24. I think it was answered long ago that this is not a priority with the dev. team right now.
