  1. Not always. The relight parameters are quite wide so it appears straight forward, but you can definitely be going too fast for it to work :music_whistling:
  2. Yay, another poll/wishlist offering the exact same planes and the OP not even taking the time to exclude ones known to already be in development/taken by studios. Good stuff.
  3. It was rather good. Shame I got a phone call at the start of one of the merges, so hopefully I can rewatch tomorrow.
  4. Not coming in flat enough I'm afraid if you're bouncing (too high sink rate). For some practice runs, simply try flying the Mig into position about 1-2 foot off the runway and holding it there. Once you're a bit more practiced at that, just get into that position and reduce (not chop) the throttle and it'll land fine.
  5. I reckon HB will throw us a curve ball and do a Tunnan or something, mostly for the lols. :P
  6. Yes: https://forums.eagle.ru/showgroups.php If you're on the front page of the forum, scroll down to the bottom and look for the "View Forum Leaders" link.
  7. That was specifically for the flight models only, and that process is pretty much done now as the -29 has just got its PFM.
  8. Aside from the actual content of the trailer (which was great), this has to be one of the very best trailers for any DCS related item ever. Whoever did it should be very proud of it.
  9. The only benefits of Steam currently is generally better DL speeds*, plus the ability to trial modules by using the Steam refund feature. Otherwise, standalone has a lot more pluses as outlined above. You also can occasionally make good use of the bonus points you can accrue and get an older module very cheap. Steam Overlay is a moot point, as you can add standalone as a non-steam game and still use it. *only matters if you trying to dl a patch immediately and can't wait a few hours. Generally next day you get the same speeds if going to ED directly.
  10. Can you stop making threads like this please? First was "A and B didn't drop bombs", now this. Ignoring the fact this topic has been discussed before, you should furnish your posts with some actual info for discussion rather than just making an incorrect statement.
  11. Some of you lot need to start looking at Hoggit: Just turned out Cobra was mistaken with the date requirement, and has now managed to change it to Winter 2019.

No posts on FB since Feb. No posts on the forum since April. Plexus hasn't even logged in since end of May (Last Activity: 05-25-2018 03:21 PM). The OctopusG website has also expired and the domain was not renewed. There's putting your head down to get stuff done, and there's disappearing without a trace. Looks sadly like the latter currently as after 6 months, you definitely have something to write about.
  13. Continue playing the other modules until it's had a couple of patches to fix the inevitable bugs :)
  14. No thanks, would rather not have to download masses of skins if I connect to a multiplayer server. Used to be very frustrating back in the day when joining any HL or UT based game, connecting and then spending many minutes downloading skins before I could actually play.
  15. Have you tried rebuilding your shaders? That occasionally helps due to changes in updates. Go to: C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Delete the fxo and metashaders folder. DCS will take longer to start next time as it'll rebuild them.
  16. No, they're not. Sirius was just making an observation.
  17. Well, Wags either made a mistake, or he's sitting at his desk chortling at the furore it has caused :)
  18. No, OP is just Scottish :)
  19. We've known about this for 6+ months now...: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205813
  20. To give people an idea of how computationally expensive ray-tracing is, Im going to link to a PCGamer article from last summer and the video that came with it as an example. https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/check-out-quake-2-played-on-a-titan-xp-with-real-time-gpu-path-tracing/ The thing to note is that Quake 2 is now a 21 year old game and runs on pretty much anything (even the old Amiga!), and even using top of the line hardware the guy was struggling to get 30+ fps. x19sIltR0qU The video is also a great example of the noise problem too :)
  21. That's a fallacy and you know it. I, for example, keep reading because I find it amusing seeing you keep trying to aggrandise a problem which seems to affect basically no-one else.
  22. Crushable grass has been a feature of various games over the years. It's not a feature I care about for the airplane side of DCS (how often do you land in grass?) but if CA gets expanded, it'll potentially be quite a nice feature.
  23. Depends how heavy or lightweight you want. VSCode w/ the main C# extension is ok, especially if you're doing .net Core apps. The JetBrains Rider IDE seemed pretty decent (been 18 months since I last touched that) for a Visual Studio-esque experience, and might be a better choice if you're doing .net Framework / .net Standard.
  24. Er, yes? I'll fly both. The Mig-23 is actually probably going to be more interesting to fly tbh, due to it being the lesser of the two and having more quirks.
  25. Thanks Zeus, much appreciated! :)
