Half of the USN list is in background development afaik. There's a Phantom in the works too, but unless it's changed, was an USAF version.

Sith, I appreciate you get a lot of rubbish thrown your way and you're required to be somewhat defensive (being on payroll and all), but can you just accept for once that others have different experiences than you, and just because yours is fine, doesn't mean other people's are. Normandy runs ok on my rig, but it doesn't perform as well as others. For people with worse machines than ours, that can run Cauc fine but not Normandy, the broken claims do have a ring of truthfulness to them. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what the updates bring.

So I've read a few of your posts and I've not seen you mention it, so I think there's a chance your assumption might be flawed as you appear to be missing a piece of knowledge when doing your tests: Modules can use as many threads as they like. HB have been quite forthright is saying a bunch of the performance stuff they've done has been shuffling things to other threads, like radar, systems etc... I'd imagine others, even ED, have done similar too. With that in mind, what have your tests been like? If you've been flying a module in them, thread usage could be due to that, rather than the core engine moving off 2 cores.

If you're going to copy stuff of Reddit (and you did, as that's the exact picture u/Toilet2000 used), at least read the entire thread and acknowledge the fact that module was added to steam > 4 YEARS ago, otherwise you're going to come off as rather disingenuous. If you found it elsewhere, then fair enough. It's a bit of a misleading screenshot. You would also have found the link to the discussion thread about the map on this forum telling you it's from M3/LN and not ED.

It's in the patch notes: Granted, it's under the F-14 section, but it's probaby a more global thing.

I have the same thoughts, until Normandy gets SpeedTrees and a few other updates (mostly runway/airfield changes), then I won't be touching the Syria map. I do remember seeing a post that Ugra were going to return to Normandy once they'd finished the Syria map though, so we'll see I suppose. I can only assume at this point they're a very small team, considering they've got no real online presence and their glacial pace of updates.

From literally the thread below this one, an update was posted a couple of days ago: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3918671&postcount=77

Using WW2 Backer Rewards to get the Fw190 for free?

Developer jailed in US for smuggling F-16 manuals

For all OP's normally crazy wishes, this one is actually a really good one. CSAR / SAR would be a massive boost for the helos in DCS, and a really cool feature to add to the sim in general.

I hope they're working with HB on this. Seems a waste of effort on ED's side for HB to develop Jester, and ED to duplicate effort by not using that as a starting point.

Is it me or is the F14 getting owned in multiply Player?
Buzzles replied to budguy68's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I mean, that's obvious. You're talking about a plane iirc that started off with a 7.5g operational rating, dropped fairly quickly to a 6.5g (?) rating for most of its operational life, that was apparently capable of doing up to 10.5g without damage according to Grumman test pilots. Which ever way you look at it, it was handicapped. Suppose this is a good point for Victory to chime in on what limits he was forced to stick with in training/Red Flag etc... -
Yes. Use the module manager.
-
Probably going to need to post a track so people can see what's going on, because it sounds like you're doing everything right.

ED do. But it's going to be at least 2+ years before they start on it properly as they said it's been pushed back behind the Mi-24, which was pushed back itself. With regard to your question, buy both? One now, one later. If you really can't pick, then IMO: F-14 is for flying. F-18 is for having fun with all the toys.
-
Too simplistic of a question to answer really as there's normally so many variables, but it'll be down to whichever is the better pilot and can fly their aircraft to its best. If both pilots are equally good, it'll be down to who makes the first mistake. Personally, I'd rather be in a Tomcat, but I'm under no illusions that I'd be winning :D

Can't believe I'm even going to bite but: Yeahhh, they're totally CGI. The 'skinny bob' one makes that clear. The quality of the 'alien' is far higher than the quality should be considering how poor that video is supposed to look. If you've ever watched old films, especially 60's/70's handcam ones, it's easily apparent.
-
I'm not disagreeing, but what you've written has been posted hundreds of times before. ED are listening and slowly working away behind the scenes though, even though it's not always apparent unless you're subbed to the newsletters and keep an eye on the forums. They're currently working on a dynamic campaign engine, and in regard to the WWII modules, they're actually fleshing out the lineup with things like the 190-A8, Mosquito and others + a lot of ground units.

Have you tried clearing the metashaders and fxo folders from C:\Users\[username]\Saved Games\DCS ?
-
Re 3) As above and were you shooting? Missiles (any maybe guns) result in the starter kicking in which might result in the event, I'd have to check. Also avoid 0g at all costs. If you need to nose over, do it very gently and maintain >0.5g, or invert, pull and adjust attitude, then roll back.
-
Are you trying to open them on the ground after startup? If so, you'll need to rev the engine a bit first.
