They should be removed. They were okay when there was only a few modules, now there's loads, it's pretty pointless.

Yes! A -7 or -9 would equally be fine.

WW2 fighter damage model update?
Buzzles replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
You want this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=194540&page=68 Sith/NL drops updates occasionally. -
Yes, that'll work fine to install DCS on the other drive. Just note that with all the extra's installed, especially the maps, DCS will take quite a lot of space. My installation is currently ~120GB, and I don't have the PG map installed and only about half the airplanes.
-
Don't see the point in using real data, current or historical. If I build a scenario, I want to control the weather, at least to a degree. I think it'd be better to put dev effort into improving the current dynamic system that's in DCS.

Why have you made _another_ thread Xilon_X? You already have your own huge wishlist here, with this jet on it: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=250101

aircraft customization: pilot names and nose art emblem editor
Buzzles replied to twistking's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Names could be done like the bort system. As ED have already done that (the bort system), something leads me to think either there's a technical reason or they don't think it's worthwhile. Personally, I don't think it really adds much in MP. Especially on servers where external views are disabled. -
^^^^ THIS ^^^^ DCS installer doesn't touch the SavedGames/ path, so most mods can and should live in there.
-
In otherwords, there's only one zone: the dangerzone.
-
I'm surprised these aren't a thing already considering the other rebel/insurgent units in the game.
-
Not quite sure what point you're trying to make though. If anything, it just backs up my point there's a lot in the oven so it's logical that others get put on the backburner. I mean, I'd rather have had an F-4 over the F-18 or F-16, but ho-hum, we are where we are.
-
They do have the F-18, F-16, cockpit upgrades/new verison of KA-50, some Huey upgrades (cockpit and maybe multicrew?), finishing off Anton, finishing off Yak-52, the new DM system, the P-47, the Mi-24, the Mosquito, alongside new weather (as Wags recently mentioned it again) and AI tweaks and all the other core bits. Oh, and the carrier DLC too. It's a lot of stuff currently in production. Not suprising this and the AH-1 had to be shelved. Don't forget though, the F-16 was shelved for ~5 years after we first saw some WIP shots. We've got it now though.

Polychop Simulations OH-58D Kiowa
Buzzles replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
You've not actually signed a contract?! You people really don't learn do you? Surprised ED haven't stopped you putting this out tbh. Hope it all works out though! Will be a fun module hopefully if it's up to par. -
What is the true reason for no Heavy Aircraft Module devs?
Buzzles replied to Wing's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Heavies? I'd just accept medium-ish. If someone were to make a proper DC-3/C-47, and DCS was updated to have proper parachute and cargo functionality (I'm talking using transports to stock up airfields, which it is already partly in), then you'd be on to a winner I think. -
Mirage. It's 50% off which is rare, fairly complete, and about to receive a bunch of updates due to AdA feedback. But mostly Mirage because the F-16 is going to be in EA for a long time if the Hornet is anything to go by. By the time it's closer to actual release, I suspect the year will have passed, and if the suprising happens and it is complete earlier, well, it's only 20% discount. Not really something you going to miss if you're saving up over potentially 12 months. Plus if you wait, when you finally fly it it'll have had more stuff added and bugs squashed. Also, don't support EA culture :p
-
There might be one or two flying. If you do a quick google, you can find a few websites that track the KA-50 fleet and their fates. A lot of them are in semi-storage with rotors and tails removed last time I checked.
-
You can always save the track file (.trk) and replay that later to use the F-keys. Obviously you'll then have multiple videos which you'll need to edit together. As a note, tracks aren't reliable either.

All the bits in red are baked in reflections, not smudges. It does need to be toned down though. Baked reflections are pretty annoying when they're overt like this.

How to use Prepare Mission in the mission editor?
Buzzles replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in Mission Editor
It does work, and there is. I've not played with the feature for a while though, so it may be only available on the ASM modules (Su-27 is not ASM), or just on certain modules. How it works in the background is that it saves an extra .json file (or .lua) inside the .miz file, which contains various state information, mostly on switches. For the modules that support it, it's entirely possible to go in by hand and add entries to it (you can figure out the keys and state by looking at the modules input.lua's and a couple of other files) if you want certain states. -
If they did one, I'd oddly like an earlier variant with the guns still in the nose, eg, the F.2A, or failing that, the later F.6 with the cannons in the ventral pod. Yes, they've both got short legs, but they'd be a hella fun. Probably would be the fastest aircraft in DCS by some margin on the acceleration front. That said, there's certainly other RAF/Euro craft I'd like to see first.
-
Heh, what's interesting is some of the actual fighter pilots that post here (and elsewhere) say that IRL at the moment, mirrors are basically used for the latter and to check control surfaces + formation flying, and not actually used when in combat.
-
That would be because it's a 3rd party module, so lives with them. See: https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=635
-
Other: New Damage Model + Dynamic campaign. New modules are nice, but the above two are important, the former at least should be nearly upon us.

https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3979428&postcount=1723 Seriously, the stickied P47 thread is the one you should be looking in. No need to raise a new thread for a question like this.

The latter.
