  1. Joyeux annif et félicitations Vyrtuoz ! I remember the first time I used an ACMI was in F-22 ADF (from DiD): (hey, that icon looks familiar ;) ) We're lucky we can use such a great tool with DCS, and I like to think we'll be able to see it fully integrated into DCS sometime in that peculiar two-more-weeks-future. (and Tacview also recently helped me understand why I took that AIM-120 in the a**) :D
  2. T-Rudder MkII (the MkIV dimensions should be pretty similar)
  3. Unfortunately, it's not fixed. What you see is the specular highlight (bright spot on the canopy). It's still missing the pseudo-environmental reflection (blue and brown layer). It's easy to compare in the 1.5.4 new encyclopedia rendering (Su-27 vs Su-33 or the brand new MiG-29A, for example).
  4. <3 Why on earth would you want such an amazingly detailed nose wheel in a sim? We can barely notice any of those details 99% of the time, even on the apron. Because aircraft are amazing creations. That's why. And ED loves that, just like us  :D (now, let's study that piece of fine engineering ;) ) Thanks so much for all the lovely models!
  5. Congratulations uboats!!! I hope ED gave you what you deserve for that wonderful addition! [source] And thanks ED for including that feature!
  6. You can also use the configuration software (VKB Device Config) to assign keyboard inputs to any button (ex: button 1 = Ctrl + Shift + B).
  7. That too, indeed! Wags did tease the aircraft model in the last stream/video, so there's still time for them to fix a few details.
  8. That's a distinctive detail. Thanks for providing the comparative pictures  Let's hope they'll fix it in a future patch.
  9. Thank you for volunteering for the experiment  and don't forget to link a video.
  10. At least it gives a great idea about how interesting the volumetric clouds could be. I really hope ED will come up with something including different cloud formations depending on a weather system. I'd love to spot cumulonimbus clouds and immediately think "trouble" (=fun). :D
  11. Those shock absorbers are far more affordable and probably rather easy to install as well. And they exist in different sizes (depending on the remote car scale). It sounds really interesting. (and if it's not strong enough there's the bikes steering dampers) I'd love to see a VKB modular damping kit available as an option (especially for the use of an extender). As a side note, and if I translated correctly, I've read that VKB added something new to the Gunfighter - something not available on the other flight sticks. I was hoping for some clever dampening solution but I'm probably wrong. (for those interested, here's the original thread about that wonderful work by VO101_MMaister @ SimHQ) (and btw, those viscous dampers cost $580 each ;) )
  12. That would be the next step for a kickass gimbal, right? ;) No, I didn't contact them, but I checked the price back then (available in a .pdf), and it was painful (I can't recall how painful exactly but definitely something as high as several hundreds of dollars per unit). VO101_MMaister found them on eBay (it was far more affordable).
  13. Here's a screenshot from the Su-27 Freeflight Instant Action, on my rig (i5 3570K @ 4.3 GHz, ASUS GTX 970 OC Strix, 16 GB ram). Always above 60 FPS at this altitude (no mirrors) or above/in/below the clouds. I forced the AA transparency so it might be the reason for these artifacts (I didn't test without that setting).
  14. It's already in the manual (page 130) ;) (DCS User Manual EN.pdf) Also, imho, it generally makes more sense to use a value relative to the ground instead of variable other values (altitude, wind, etc.) for the different units/aircraft (easier to compare) (except for the specific use Yurgon explained). But a tooltip when hovering the speed box would be great. Explanatory tooltips everywhere :) (IAS tooltip?)
  15. Thanks Mustang  Here's a JSGME-ready .rar if anyone is interested. (updated: 06-19-2016)
  16. I think the RPM control has been designed in the Gladiator Plus (and Pro Plus) - the one with the attached throttle. And with the WW2 throttle that should be unveiled [sooner or later].
  17. She/they definitely did not receive the Gladiator Pro from VKB (I asked), so I'm wondering how her psychic powers had foreseen all the Gladiator Pro properties :music_whistling: You can paint that bunch of sentences as pure BS (because it's taking the reader for a fool). Thanks for bringing this article to our attention, Sokol. And of course it's not your fault people just want money thrown at them ;) [EDIT: ah I remember I've read part of an early review about the X56 on that very same website (from a guy named TechGuru, expert for many years) via Reddit and of course it was a bunch of non-information. Clickbait it is.]
  18. Oh ok. :D Then I hope some guys at Mudspike, CheckSix and the like will get their honest paws on a review unit. ;)
  19. That's a weird review (and thanks for sharing). It feels like the guy didn't use the flight stick extensively. No information about the flight stick response/feeling (except for a very vague "quite responsive"), also no information about the current programming software. I'm wondering if the author really tested a proper unit or based his opinion on a generic set of information. Also, it might be a personal preference, but the lack of twist rudder is definitely a feature and an improvement when it comes to pitch and roll controls. Absolutely not a trade-off. There's the Gladiator for these combined controls.
  20. In fact, it's more like a slow improvement process. The Cobra flight stick design exists since 2008 and evolved to the Fat King Cobra and then to the Fat Black Mamba and Black Mamba, progressively including more metal and more controls. The original Black Mamba grip itself is inherited from the first Cobra sticks. The Gladiators are a new line of products focused on the WW2 enthusiasts/sims, and the Gunfighter, still mainly developed with the KG-12/WW2 birds in mind (fully designed to be used with an extender), will be able to naturally evolve to a modern grip inspired from the modern russian jets (Su-35). (and hopefully with a dedicated modern dual-throttle) I'd just like to jump to that last part as soon as possible ;)
  21. [EDIT: Hey, Thanks for the pictures SinusoidDelta ;) cross posts ] The Warthog grip can be used with the Gladiator Pro and the Gunfighter. The Gladiator Pro is available for preorder. And if everything goes smoothly, the Gunfighter should be available later this year. Here's a guide showing how to attach the adapter to the Warthog grip. You will have to use a specific profile so the WT buttons are all configured. One user also managed to put a CH Fighterstick grip on a VKB base.
  22. Afaik, the atmosphere at these altitudes should be fine. I'm not sure how many parameters are modeled (drag, density, oxygen, temperature, etc.) but a MiG-31 is definitely comfortable at 10000 m, 580 kmh, AoA 4.3°, no afterburner - (just tested in the Nevada terrain). Are you sure you did set the altitude correctly in the ME?
  23. Afaik, the datalink is not simulated in MP. That's unfortunate and we can only hope it will be included in the future.
  24. Hi, I just shared a specific profile configuration for the Su-27 with the VKB Black Mamba. It's only a few advanced functions using "long press" (500 ms) and a specific modifier. You will have to assign the buttons to the controls in DCS, but your Black Mamba will have more muscles ;) (contains pictures and some details) >>> HERE <<<
