How are CCIP attacks done in the dark? I noticed the boresite of the FLIR is offset from the HUD a small amount which means your gun, rocket and CCIP bomb sights don't quite line up. Do pilots in the real Harrier just use the FLIR for navigation and NVGs for attacking or is there some way to adjust the alignment of the sight and the FLIR?

The TDC has 5 positions; forward, left, right, aft, and down. The first 4 are the ones that will move you sensor, the TDC down (action) is like clicking the hat switch in and that is what will select your target.
-
It's two different ways to operate the same switch. You use the TDC down button if you want to manualy hold the button down yourself. As long as you are holding the assigned button down the switch in the Harrier will be held down, when you let up, the switch in the harrier will let up. If you use the TDC action/no action button the game will hold the same switch down for you. You press the button once and the game hold the button down. When you press the button again the game releases the switch for you.

Look under the "My missions" tab on the top left side, not the AV8B tab.

That's unfortunate, I was hoping it would be here before the harrier releases. My poor warthog is on its last legs. Thanks for the info though.

I placed an order last week, anyone know how long it takes for the unit to ship after the order is confirmed?

I had been playing the open beta version 1.5.6.3690. I tried mission 2 in the Mig today after patching, and the helos spawned and took off but after getting the message they were 500m over the factory they immediately dropped altitude to just above ground level and flew back to the air field. After reaching what looked like the center of the runway they climbed back up to 500m and continued down the coast as expected. The rest of the mission went as it was supposed to I think.

I have just started the F-86 version of the campaign today and have ran into a few issues with the AI. In mission 2 I get the radio message that the helicopters are over the factory at 1500 feet, then they just start hovering above the ground near the factory building. I moved on to the next way point and got a message about the boats, flew around and shot them but the helos were still hovering back by the airfield not moving. In mission 4(i think) where you escort the general things went fine until i got the message asking what I think about my plane, then the Yak I was escorting took a sharp turn to the south east and entered a steep dive until it was flying just above ground level.

Mod for Mbot F-5 Dynamic Campaign : Desert Warthog 06
Zeroskills replied to PB0_CEF's topic in User Created Missions General
The radio command to tell your flight to engage the mission objectives seems to be missing. I can't get them to attack the ammo warehouses or fuel tanks at Creech like I can in the other dynamic campaigns. -
If I remember correctly you need to switch the red radio to channel 4, not the green.

There is a fair bit of difference between fudging something to work within the limits of computer hardware and changing the way something worked in real life for game reasons. The limitations on a2g ordinance is limited because the real viggens computer couldn't handle it. The mirage also has some restrictions on a2g load outs because of its real life computer issues I believe.

You add oog sound file here (\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Sounds\VigWalkman) I think. Up to 8 aparently.

I really enjoyed the campaign, the voice acting and events plus all the other active units in the area made it feel like a real conflict. I have always liked the Mirage, but the campaign made me love it. It feels like an old friend now.

The second someone calls a game mechanic they don't like an "exploit" is the second I stop taking anything they have to say seriously.

Autopilot explanation (great video)
Zeroskills replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Ya, so far it feels like I have my 8 year old nephew flying with me in the co-pilot seat yanking on the controls. -
I have the same problem. I can look through the HUD and see the unit with my TGP marker directly over it, but in the MFD I still can see nothing.

Autopilot explanation (great video)
Zeroskills replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I understand the standard autopilot functions of the MI-8, it's the new options that are giving me trouble. Even with my hands off the controls the cyclic and collective move around and makes the MI-8 wobble around the sky as the flight engineer fiddles with the trim. So far it seems like a completely useless option and I was wondering if I just don't know how to use it properly. Autopilot explanation (great video)
Zeroskills replied to Zimmerdylan's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Has anyone done a tutorial on the "adjust autopilot" option and yet? Because all it seems good for so far is making me yell "Oh my god, stop helping me!" as I bobble around the sky. -
Your anger over this seems way out of proportion to it's importance.

I also had the same thing happen with the 109. No idea why.

I believe you twist the throttle grip.

As far as I know, it just means your main tank has gone empty.
