  1. I just want to know where I place my bets.....
  2. Gutsiest move I ever seen, Mav.
  3. I'll start complaining about why it's taking so long for the Strait of Hormuz map. When that comes out I'll start complaining about the WW2 map. When that comes out I'll start complaining about......
  4. Nice touch adding the real world radio transmissions. Great video!....As always.

    F-16

The F18 is what I'm REALLY waiting for. I've prepurchased the M2000 and will purchase the F14 when available. But it's the F18 (carrier ops) and the Strait of Hormuz map that have the most potential to change the game IMHO. I'm curious to see NTTR and have prepurchased it, but after the novelty of it wears off, its proper theatre maps that everyone will be asking for.
  6. I have the Warthog and have no complaints (the A10C is my favorite module....a masterpiece). Like any other device, its not perfect. (I found by adding a 7.5 cm extension and using Silicon spray lube on the 4 internal posts/springs fits the bill for me). The trouble with any mechanical device is that it's prone to failure and some reviews express the natural frustration that comes with that. The Warthog is expensive. I justified the purchase by realizing that if I didn't get exactly what I want, I would probably waste money experimenting with other sticks only to eventually get the WH. Quality-wise, the WH joystick will be hard to beat. The throttle control is nice but not the same quality as the stick. You could always pick up a set of pedals off of eBay.
  7. I have the MFG Crosswinds as well and I highly recommend them. I only need to keep my feet on the entire pedal for those times that brakes are needed. Generally I rest my foot on the floor and use my toes. I will buy the F16 add on when they are available.
  8. If only DCS had explosions like that.....
  9. .....something to attract the Steel Beasts Pro crowd......
  10. I received my pedals today (ordered Aug. 2nd). They were in perfect shape and I am impressed and very pleased with their precision and overall quality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
  11. Of course Hooter's girls can't count...that's why they're Hooter's girls.
  12. Today....any citizen of the World who values their freedom is French. VIVE LA FRANCE!!!
  13. Baltic's missions are excellent with superb immersion. I'm looking forward to the release of both NTTR and The Enemy Within. It won't matter what map the campaign is built on..... His missions transcend that.
  14. Is there any vertical loss? I'm using a 28" monitor presently and my concern is that the actual image of the cockpit itself would be smaller with the ultrawide.
  15. Happy Birthday to the USMC. Wags....you don't look a day over 47. Happy Birthday.
  16. Has anyone used this device? If so, what is your product review? I was curious if it will work with DCS without much re-configuring of files. http://www.fspilotshop.com/cockpit-phd-simufun-flight-sim-control-panel-p-5883.html?utm_campaign=151109&utm_content=ctaclick&utm_medium=email&utm_source=FlightSim&utm_term=bluecta&osCsid=l7i7rqabr798g81nafr3f6vim1
  17. My specs are in my signature. I am getting over 100 fps consistently in 1.5 with everything cranked up to HIGH.

  19. I used silicone spray on the four small poles that the flange/disc moves up and down on. I tried silicone grease but it wasn't as effective. The spray worked great for me and two others that I suggested it to. I now use a 7.5 cm extension so I'm not anticipating a re-spray anytime soon. The extension wasn't nt purchased to eliminate sticktion. I do HIGHLY recommend an extension though.
  20. I've noticed in the past that the changelogs don't always include every single change. Plus, the OP might be interested in the overall effect of 1.5 over 1.2. I have a problem with the RTFM approach as the community is tiny as it is. No point in putting people off.
  21. Serial # 1265. Franklin Lakes, NJ USA
  22. Fantastic! Very clever.......
  23. I ordered my pedals on August 2nd. I received my invoice today. The excitement builds....
  24. I agree with those of you that are proponents of AAR as it now exists. It was nearly impossible for me at first, but after an embarrassing amount of practice time in both the A10C and the F15, I got the hang of it....not perfect but passable. Having said that, I do see the other side of the argument. I started out in flight sims using auto-start which I can't imagine using now.....I HATE autostart. The community is so small as it is, I would endorse anything that would include more folks to join.....which is what is great about the Flaming Cliffs aircraft. There are MP groups that take things seriously and those that do not. I fall heavily on the serious side, but I think there is room for all.........KUMBAYA!!! If I may offer a tip to those who are struggling...... Practice formation flying with the tanker. Forget about trying to make a connection until you are comfortable holding a solid formation. It seems difficult at first but there will be less pressure on you....you get used to watching the tanker.......Be sure your aircraft is trimmed and make constant, small adjustments to maintain your position. Spend some time practicing this. Once you feel more confident, move over to the boom and don't fixate on the boom but focus on your position relative to the tanker. With the F15 you can't focus on the boom anyway. At the very least, it will make you a better formation pilot, even if you don't master refueling.
  25. In the past, not everyone installed/used the Open Beta. More folks are using it now because of the new software features. Prior to 1.5, the majority of the MP servers were using the stable version when there was an update to the OB....with some exceptions. My question is this.....if you are only planning to use the OB version, what happens after 2.0 is released to the stable version? If past practice indicates future behavior, won't most folks stay with the stable version to avoid the bugs that naturally come with a beta......which means that those with only the OB will have limited access to MP servers until the Beta moves to the stable version. I'm sure I haven't explained this well......
