  1. Pffff that's easy, i challenge you , until DCS 2.0 is released - to be master of your domain , king of the county , lord of the manner etc. *see Seinfeld episode 'The Contest'
  2. Well , it takes one if the most successful developer in the word with a team of hundreds of men about 6 years and many millions of $$$ to make a map the size of a city + some peripheral areas. they have to sell millions of copies just to break even. so how long would it take to make a whole country for us to fly with? and with only a fraction of the target audience how much you think it should cost the customer?
  3. That was fast.... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2412437#post2412437
  4. Lots of those 8bit sims , i was too young to remember names. but the first REAL sim i bought in the modern age of Simulations was Super EF2000 (it was a re-release for Windows 95)
  5. Yes efm for hawk costs 10$ irc but its not ready anyways,, I'm guessing when it is ready ED will also offer upgrades for a low price during sales
  6. I wasn't going to buy anymore modules until there is a flash sale AND until DCS 2.0 is (in my opinion at least) close to release well, i just got the last 3 modules i needed to finish my collection (C101, Hawk, Mig15) :)
  7. If you are part of the testing team then you must have real bloody fingers by now...
  8. A bit off topic (well regarding today`s news) , but is ED in contact with AMD / NVIDIA regarding optimized driver support for DCS 2.0? i`m asking because lately AMD is really dropping the ball with drivers lately for new AAA titles and i`m a bit worried about it. (see the Witcher 3 release this month for example)
  9. Actually benchmarks today already show games running slightly better (2-5%) on Win8 vs Win7 , so Win10 should show atleast that over Win7
  10. The fact DCS 2.0 is out of ED`s hands and into private people`s (Testers) could only mean an imminent (months at most) release. and moving this thread to DCS sub forum pretty much makes this a fact. i`m so pleased.
  11. We are at June , exciting time - either we get DCS 2.0 pre-beta/alpha or we get communicated with an updated estimate date, either way an update is probably coming.
  12. Last videos were from Georgia with SU-25 and the new L-39
  13. Dunno about you , but LOW pics still look good and much better than current Georgia mountain ridge
  14. Congratulation , i love flying the MP campaigns you and Xcom make (IAF team) , real pleasure and it is what brings DCS to life.
  15. Very impressed that it can run so well on these specs and not massively OC`d Titan SLI`d rig. on the other hand , top end machines these days are benchmarked with games at 1440p or 4K resolution. Anyway im optimistic about DCS future.
  16. Very well done! thanks guys
  17. just wanted to say i`m following this thread very closely and its really annoying that the 'screenshot thread' is f.ull of chit chat , and at best has something to do with the Mirage 2000
  18. Why is it that F-14 in photos always look so dirty and weathered compared to other carrier operated aircraft? (even old photos when these birds where new)
  19. Replied just to say i have no idea about this issue as i have never opened my Warthog and it doesn't make squeaking noises , also its only one year old So really i have nothing to contribute to this thread. but at least i improved the reply/view statistics for you
  20. His CPU is fine and better than fine . a single 3.4ghz i7 ivy bridge core can handle DCS without any issue. my CPU is older (Nehalem based) and at the same speed and doesn't reach 90% on the busy core when running DCS. his GPU on the other hand is weak for most settings but medium at a decent resolution. in any case, to people worried about DCS 2.0 working slower, i don't think it works like that, pretty sure most people will see an increase in performance or be able to turn on more eye-candy atleast.
  21. Even when DCS 2.0 hits the open beta/alpha stage , it will be for a while before public release and ED would most likely keep on patching the retail version in the mean time. also , keep in mind that some code they use to improve/bugfix 1.2.XXX is also used in DCS 2.0 (or the other way around)
  22. I wouldn't read too much into it, my guess is that they wont make their big media announcements and major site changes before EDGE is out of public testing and in official version.
  23. Damn you for these deep discounts!!! now i must buy Hawk/C101/Mig15 all at once!
  24. Technically speaking you can go as high as 80-90 degrees no problem , but it will shorten CPU life (it might die after 10 years of use...) if the temp is too high , then the CPU will throttle down for safety. so what you want to do is push it to the maximum clock it can hold under full load for 15-20 mins without crashing or throttling down. unless you up the voltage too high , its practically impossible to kill a CPU.
  25. Yes you will get the engines, if you look at the renders you can see the nozzles are from the updated version
