Hmmm really wish the system was more like task = "barcap". Where you can set up waypoints from the advanced action menu for them to either follow in order or move between randomly. Then set an engagement zone (hopefully making it not just a circle but making it so you can define its shape more finely with a bunch of points that connect together). A lot like how its done in CMO

in a jet that weighs say 75,000 lbs (F14 max takeoff weight) +- 15-20lbs is utterly pointless in simulating its not worth the effort.

Well flare spamming should defeat the archer we have with very good reliability. Again could be a jet to jet issue, do some tests and post the results.

With the archer based on what has been shown the version we have should be very resistant to just a few flares dropped with a moderately large interval (especially at very short or long ranges) but if enough flares are dropped rapidly over even a small period of time it should still be able to pull the seeker off the target with good reliability.

BigNewy can you also tack on the excessive G limit bug onto that report? Should be limited to 6g's (or lower as per the missiles altitude) but its set to 17G right now. -

Even then it really only works rarely in SP and not really at all in MP.

IMO their using PGU rounds, which when did the navy get them and should our jet be using them? But there may be something to the accuracy of the piper over longer ranges in that it should still be able to get a good solution even if your firing from beyond whatever is used to define Rmax here as the rounds can go quite some distance. -
There's more to this than just Glimit, it also depends on the lift values which for all the older missiles were reduced due to issues with the old guidance system. 60G's? Where did you get this number from more like very high teens for the A's and mid 20's for the C.

Tbf if the bomblets can pen around 200mm of RHAE as was indicated earlier in the thread, there are no modern MBT's with that level of protection on their roofs, unless they have intact ERA on the top. -

Yeah would love to see the eagles radar improved at a bare minimum to the original APG-63 performance (which it doesn't even match currently). And then obviously the MISP's performance would be amazing as well, even if it may take some guessing on ED's part. -
+1 I really wish they'd return to the old chaff chance value as imho it's a more realistic option as an interim solution, on top of fixing the above bug which I'd think would be a high priority bug.

Also I seem to recall that in the past the number of submunitions was decreased for performance reasons? Am I off base with that or was that the case and is still in the game? Also Part of the issue is there is no simulation of mobility kills either. If one of these hits an engine deck or a track it would stop the tank. Maybe even damage the barrel of the tank or knockout sensors. We really need a more complex DM for ground vehicles. And maybe some fire effects added in if the engine is hit or the crew bailing out. -

They should still be given a small amount of AP value, they may not have 100's of mm of pen but still should be given some especially considering the tops of some armored vehicles are very thin. -

Biggest problem is that there is a disconnect going on, in short this is a video game, not rlf. We're not here for the equivalent of an exercise, were not employed by the AF, we just want to play the game with no limits (barring game breaking bugs) and have fun. -
Yeah the gateway should be added at a minimum, Waypoint lines, Boxes, and the threat rings (both Preplanned, ELINT detected, and datalink) would just be an amazing secondary addition.
