  1. Right Ctrl + [ or ] to walk the Engineer to each station in the Chinook. Just remember you have to hit the 3 key to go to the Engineer. Cool stuff in VR!
  2. I found one of the coolest functions flying last night I have not seen anyone discuss, walking to each station in the Chinook as the Engineer. If you press right Ctrl + [ or }, the Engineer will walk to the hoist station or the ramp control/cabin lights station at the rear of the helo. Right now, in the options it looks like there are other stations he can walk to, but only 3 (including the default) are available for the time being. I was going to ask ED or Bignewy if the WASD keys were ever considered for a free walk around the Chinook, but to be honest, this works fantastic in VR. I plan on doing some more videos with the guys later over the Marianas. The below video demonstrates what I am talking about. It is a crazy feeling in VR when you are walking towards the pilots in flight. Good stuff!
  3. You and I both brother! Really looking forward to the Cobra coming to DCS. Now that we have the Chinook and Cayuse, I feel naked without her for support.
  4. ViolentNomad, does this mean there will be an external folder where we can drop MP3's and cycle through tracks in game? I know it's not exactly a tape deck or cassette player, but I always wondered if someone could develop this. I am curious if you can only use OGG files or if it has to be one big track that replays itself. Absolutely cannot wait for the Cobra to come out!
  5. Those were intense times. So intense, I may have to go find that soundtrack and add it to one of my flights.
  6. Much appreciated BIGNEWY!
  7. We must have served at the same time in the exact same conflict. LOL. Good times!
  8. Sexy ass Photo and yes, we need one for DCS. VSN did a flyable mod with a virtual cockpit, but I had trouble using it to be honest. I would enjoy seeing a 3rd party pick this one up. I was actually siting in a cockpit of one in the Air Museum in Titusville Florida 2 weeks ago. I will get the video posted soon.
  9. Outstanding work!!!! The music player is awesome! This alone would be a cool mod for the Viper so I could play my old 80's Iron Eagle songs while flying it. If you ever figure out how to add to the knee of the F-16 pilot, that would be awesome.
  10. Holy <profanity>! One other question. I just noticed in your startup on the attached video, it looked like you pushed start on an old cassette player to start the music. Are we able to drop our own music in the mod in OGG format and listen to it? Cant believe I missed that the first time I watched the video.
  11. Hey VN, any updates you can provide by chance? It has been a while. My Cayuse drivers are lonely and there is only one true fit for them. Any updated videos or progress photos? Again, thanks for the hard work. I will be honest, I have been more eager for your cobra than the Chinook. Not to knock the big girl. I bought her and love flying it, but I need my Hunter Killer teams.
  12. Thankfully the Cayuse is really fast to shut down, rearm, refuel, repair, then crank back up and get in the fight. I have left this out of my videos, but this is what we have been doing in Coop Multiplayer. To me, it adds another level of authenticity to the game. I love being able to try making a 2- or 3-hour mission on one airframe. Very rewarding because you know most your tactics are either right or at minimum, working.
  13. Agree with everything above! I knew I would miss something.
  14. I was out for 2 weeks on business travel and had to get my Cayuse fix in when I got back. Every minute was worth the wait. Thanks again for this mods gents. By far the best out there and the most I have played. Really looking forward to its future and the new aircraft to come. Just downloaded the new version. Will be giving it a shot soon.
  15. LOL. Cool. Well there is still hope then for a third-party dev to pick it up some day. Hopefully Heatblur!
  16. Frank, I spoke to Mistermann today about this. We flew it together with our other wingman prior to release. We are going to look into it and get back with you. There might have been a bug with waypoints or target points in the OH-58 but we have not confirmed yet, so take that comment with a grain of salt until we can work through it. It may also be something on our end with ME. To be honest, when we flew it, I was copilot and guiding my pilot in on the highway so we were not paying attention to the waypoints. Glad to hear you are digging the missions so far. We will get this ironed out.
  17. Just from a curious perspective, was this a third-party dev or someone making a free mod? Were they able to say why they could not make it? I would be very interested. Appreciate the rest of your feedback.
  18. I have not really seen an all-encompassing Vietnam aircraft thread so I thought I would kick it off. Below is a list of what we already have (includes the higher fidelity mods), what is coming, and what I would like to see brought to the game, either by devs or mod makers such as Tobi and 8-ball's Cayuse. There are a handful of these aircraft already in MSFS that I have shot some videos on. I did this for a brief demonstration of what it would possibly be like flying the aircraft if brought to DCS. Obviously, no combat scenarios but I focused all the flights over Vietnam. I will have several more videos coming in the future. I hope to drum up some interest with scout aircraft and cargo planes along with some heavy helos since we have the C-130 and CH-47 coming. The Cayuse mod has become an absolute favorite of mine and is a blast to fly in coop/multiplayer with the team as a scout. I will post a video below of one of our missions over the Marianas recently. Look forward to hearing the feedback and what everyone has to say. I would highly encourage everyone to research the aircraft below. Some of the observation aircraft tend to be overlooked because there is an assumption they were not armed. I feel like these aircraft are going to bring value to DCS when the dynamic campaign comes on line, SAR missions becoming a reality, and we start incorporating recon flights with cameras. IN GAME ALREADY UH-1 Huey (Needs a face lift bad and possibly other variants) MI-8 HIP OH-6 Cayuse (Flyable Mod) OH-58 (Use with old OD livery and no MMS, not period specific but works) OV-10 Bronco (Flyable Mod) A-4 Skyhawk (Flyable Mod) F-4E Phantom (Not period specific but works until Heatblur releases other variants) F-5 Tiger Mig 15 Mig 19 Mig 21 ANNOUNCED AND IN DEVELOPMENT A-1 Skyraider A-6 Intruder A-7 Corsair II F-8 Crusader F-100 Super Sabre F-104 Starfighter C-130 AH-1G Cobra (Flyable Mod by Violentnomad) CH-47 Chinook Mig-17 LIKE TO SEE NOT IN DEV AC-47 Spooky A-37 Dragonfly AC-119 Stinger F-101 Voodoo F-102 Delta Dagger F-105 Thunderchief O-1 Bird Dog O-2 Skymaster OV-10 Bronco (Official Mod) OV-1 Mohawk B-57 Canberra B-52 Stratofortress C-7 Caribou C-47 Skytrain C-123 Provider H-3 Jolly Green Giant H-19 Chickasaw H-21 Shawnee H-34 Choctaw H-46 Sea Knight SH-2 Sea Sprite SH-3 Sea King I would like to see something similar below done to the Huey as an upgrade or update to the older model. 20. Glad to see people jumping into this campaign! It has been a blast so far to work on with Mistermann and to fly together. We are really driving home the coop mentality with your fellow aviators and a scout mentality. Look forward to feedback. If you have OBS or the ability to record your experience and post them, please feel free to drop them here. We would love to see them.
  21. You guys are going to be a game changer and driver for future modules when this releases! Outstanding work. Really looking forward to flying this with the guys.
  22. Sorry for the delayed response, been on travel with the company for 2 weeks all over the place. To be honest, I have never saved any flight plans. What I typically do is look up where the A-6 flew out of during Vietnam and place a cold start at that Airfield. I am not a fan of the carriers in MSFS at all. Every time I give them a second and third chance, it never works out for me. I have also purchased the payware supercarrier with high expectations and just could not do it. After flying DCS carriers and then trying MSFS, its like the first time you saw a playboy and then got introduced to penthouse, there was no going back to playboy after that. Below is a screen shot (this was quick grab for you, I have done more research than just Wiki) of where the Marine A-6 Intruders were stationed out of during the war. There is some good stuff out there on missions they flew where you can loosely put a flight plan together off of that, but it takes a little research time. If I ever save any, I will share them for sure. I was just out at a flight museum in Florida (Valiant Air Command, Valiant Air Command | 6600 Tico Rd, Titusville, FL, USA) and it had by far the best Vietnam section I have ever seen at a museum. They have a ton of stuff there. I highly suggest it to anyone. I am going to do a separate thread on it later. Hope the below helps with where to fly in MSFS. I absolutely cannot wait for Heatblur to get the Intruder to us. It will be another massive dream come true for this guy to fly that in VR at the fidelity Heatblur and ED bring to the table. When the Vietnam map hits the scene, this community is going to go wild.
  23. Any chance we can get the new M-60 sound effects from the Huey incorporated into the door gunner on the OH-60? They also had new minigun sound effects. The new M-60s sound spot on and will give you a hard on. Hope we can add them to the Cayuse. This little mod has become an addiction to me.
  24. Tobi/Eightball, If you ever decide to do a fixed wing for this time period, it would be awesome to see the O-2A Skymaster join the party. These observation aircraft are a blast to fly and will bring soul to the Asian conflicts for sure.
