  1. Same thing for a friend of mine since latest update. He has a good rig with 64 GB of RAM but he suffers 2-4 fps as soon as he connects in multiplayer. Odd thing is that we didn't change anything in the (scripted) mission we run on our VFW server and he could fly that mission at max fps before updating DCS.
  2. That's not true at all. There is at least another unmentionable military sim that offers maniacal attention to details and implementation of all functions of true aircraft (not F-18) and it's totally free. So I expect from DCS: F18, which is instead not free, the same maniacal attention to details. I'm sure ED development team is on the same wavelength, though, since A10 is wonderfully implemented and I have no reason to believe they will underperform with final release of F-18. For the same above reason, I expect TEST, GB and GYRO will be properly implemented. The only systems that it's reasonable to expect not being implemented in final release are the classified ones.
  3. I finished reading the entire PDF. Information is very accurate and understandable, so congrats again, first of all. That said, I hope it can be useful for you to know about 2 further typos I might have found (indeed, I'm not entirely certain about the second one because I could have misunderstood offset waypoints): - page 399, towards the end: «No waypoints are not shown on the screen in this mode», I guess it should be «No waypoints are shown on the screen in this mode»; - page 427, last sentence in last paragraph: «Bearing, distance and estimated time-to-go is also displayed instead of waypoint information in the top-right corner of the screen». It seems to me that the text is suggesting that top-right corner of EHSD screen should show bearing, range and ETA of the offset, but, in the image above the paragraph, the top-right corner of EHSD screen shows bearing, distance and ETA of the proper waypoint (the offset has bearing 039, as confirmed by HUD image at page 428).
  4. As per title, since a few minutes I can't access ED website. Consequently, DCS cannot read licenses and is disabling multiplayer. I can surf other websites on the PC and I'm not able to connect to ED website through mobile connection on smartphone by a different provider than the one that is serving my home network, so I'm puzzled whether there's an issue on ED side.
  5. I think they will announce new tech, but no new module. They still have to work hard on F16 and will launch AH64 in January, so I see no space for another official module yet until 2023.
  6. Thanks to @baltic_dragonfor excellent source of information. Chapters are very readable and enjoyable. So far, I read through the first 282 pages of PDF and I'd like to report you the following errata corrige: - page 269: figure shows BINGO DISPLAY, but none of the following paragraphs tells anything about the "DCRG" line you can see in the figure; - page 274, first paragraph: «(...) On pictures below, the right one shows airspeed before set NRAS is reached; the left one shows airspeed after NRAS is reached». Judging from the figures below the text, it should be quite the opposite and text should therefore recite: «(...) On pictures below, the left one shows airspeed before set NRAS is reached; the right one shows airspeed after NRAS is reached» (corrections bolded); - page 282, number 16: it says to ask Signal Plane Captain to disconnect the external power. Though, none of the previous instructions ever said you had to ask ground grew to connect external power.
  7. First of all, congrats for the mission. Quite impressive skill to edit and script all of this! That said, two questions: 1) is it safe to edit mission by changing client aircrafts to start cold? 2) does the mission randomly change weather and/or clouds every time you run it or is weather a fixed thing? Cheers
  8. Carrier Ops and the fact I had been flying Viper on another sim for a looooong time, so Hornet is a fresh breeze to me.
  9. As per subject, I had a flight with a friend of mine (I own SC, he does not). When we came back to common Stennis, I received all the infos about Case III recovery (DME, Marshall radial, time of commencing, etc.), but my friend did not and his radio comms were pretty different from the ones I had. Does it depend on SC module?
  10. Between HSI/SA page, the ownplane symbol is misaligned (again, it was fixed a couple of updates ago, now bug is back). So, in SA you see in front of you aircrafts being behind you.
  11. As per thread title, since very last update STEP OSB on SA page does not cycle on unknown (yellow) contacts
  12. I have no problem waiting for a fix (I'll use good ole Stennis in the meanwhile), but I would be more pleased if this bug, after so many days, was no more under "Investigating" status but "Reported". It's so 100% reproducibile in multiplayer with at least 2 planes on the supercarrier that they shouldn't need a track at all. That said, I tried with pals to open wings before coming to the blast doors and it did not work. The only thing it worked was that No. 1 took off. After that, crew accepted the other planes on the catapults, but, after several planes took off, all catapults ceased working again for the following flights and there was no way to make them come back operational.
  13. +1. It's a game-breaking bug in multiplayer (Supercarrier is useless, unless you fly solo) and it's 100% reproducible. Odd no alpha tester noticed it before release. Anyway, I report that good ole Stennis is unaffected (but it has less slots you can effectively use without delays)
  14. Please do note same thing happens with Phoenix too. They are useless right now, because as soon as they leave the rail AI immediately dives and/or begins evasive maneuveurs, so you cannot effectively engage at distance.
  15. EDIT: nvm, solved
  16. I can confirm I have the same issue, despite cleanup/repair. Kneeboard appears as the old one, without the frame, and there is no way to resize and/or move it. I have a main screen and a second 8'' LCD for MFD. No mods of any sort (except Tacview and SRS).
  17. I couldn't find any Windows GPU Scheduling option in my Windows setup (I followed instructions on your link, thx). I guess it might be due to 970 not being capable of the feature.
  18. No, I don't overclock. I have DDR4 3200mhz, i7 6700k stock and Gigabyte Gaming G1 970 (yes, I know, it's old and I'm going to replace it with a 3080), but I didn't touch default frequencies. As I said, it seems MSAA could be the culprit, because if I disable it DCS seems stable (or, at least, I did not experience any crash without MSAA). Could it be a VRAM thing? Odd enough I've been having this only since a couple of patches ago, though Inviato dal mio BLA-L29 utilizzando Tapatalk
  19. Hi there. No overclock, fxo and metashaders2 cleaned after every update, did the cleanup/repair thing, but nonetheless, since a couple of patches ago, I experience random CTD in multiplayer (sometimes I find myself all of a sudden back to desktop withouth even DCS warning me about the crash and offering to send logs to ED), especially when I enable MSAA ingame (I don't know if it's a coincidence, but with MSAA disabled game seems solid). Attaching latest minidump (the crash happened yesterday): dcs.log-20201118-205551.zip
  20. Last night, I was doing a Case III recovery with a fellow of mine, after a mission, and carrier changed her course while we were landing (my fellow was less than 3nm behind the carrier, all setup for landing), although we announced our inbound and followed all the strict procedures and communications required by Case III recovery. Now, I understand that carrier didn't do anything more than what the mission editor established, by giving her a waypoint plan to follow. Nonetheless, I think that, while planes are inbound, carrier shouldn't follow her navigation plan until inbound aircrafts are safely trapped on the deck.
  21. As per thread title, if you run instant action mission "Cold and Dark" for Caucasus, the first message at the top right of the screen recites: «Use this mission to familiarize yourself with the Hornet cockpit and starting up the aircraft».
  22. Same problem for me. I began seriously studying the aircraft only a few hours ago (despite having bought it after it was released) and sometimes (read: a lot of times) slewing is inverted. I cannot say when and why it happens, because I'm not trained to the aircraft and its avionics so I do a lot of things by trial. But I can say it happens to me even if I do not shoot anything (I can only shoot Sidearms at the moment).
  23. I experience the issue as soon as I turn on MSAA. But I only experience it on the carrier and around it. Once I'm airborne and I'm 3-4 miles out of the carrier range, no more black flickering screen, even with MSAA enabled. DCS is not the only one game I had this problem with. I remember I had it with Elite Dangerous too, only when I was using TrackIR, and it was much more serious than DCS (you could not turn head without black box flickering tens of times). On Elite Dangerous I solved by enabling Vsync. On DCS, Vsync does not seem to do any better. Only disabling MSAA does.
  24. I'm glad I wasn't the only one having this issue. I'll be dumb and blind, but I had to use browser's "search for" feature to find where the "Login" is :D Anyway, I find new forum's aesthetics is really bad. I guess a "Optimized for Netscape" button would be coherent with this backward step.
