  1. You are right, sounds like American is his first language !
  2. Anybody who pronounces it warth - og doesn't have my confidence.
  3. I have been flying the Spitfire for a few days now (got back into it after watching the Battle of Britain in 3 days on BBC1) the trim works fine for me, bound to the main hat switch on my Warthog joystick. I can trim it up and go out for a smoke and she would still be flying. From memory, I have the AXIS 0,100,100,10
  4. Checkmate, just as a side venture, could you go into control panel > Administrative tools > Event Viewer > then click custom views and a drop down should appear called administrative events, click administrative events and check the logs for any WHEA errors, just to make sure your CPU is getting enough volts. Probably nothing to do with the problem you are having but its good to check. When I upgraded to the board I am using now, I was getting bad micro stutters playing BF3, it maybe was a placebo effect as I tried quite a few different things and upping my CPU volts seemed to fix the stutters as I was getting WHEA errors, so not enough juice to run the CPU effectively.
  5. This from 05-11-2017, hopefully not too much longer then.
  6. What's with all the Steven Segal German AI, playing the 4 v 4 instant mission and I am hammering the AI, its wings are completely see through and it is still flying. No smoke or anything, yet the AI fire one straiff of bullets in my general direction and I am dead.
  7. Just had a look at your list shu77 and went in to look at the Aussie prices, its been a few years since I lived there and came to the UK, so I saw a 3770k listed at $1500, if you know anyone that's wants to buy mine, I will hand deliver it for that price.
  8. This is the latest BIOS for your board, if you aren't confident in updating the BIOS, maybe the shop could do it for you. New mobo's are the latest technology so it normally takes a few BIOS revisions to get them working trouble free. I would still recommend joining the ROG forum as someone on there could have had the same, or similar problem. It could be that one of your 3 x M2 drives is causing it, it is just a crap shoot at the moment and if it is hardware related the ROG forum is another option for you. ROG ZENITH II EXTREME ALPHA BIOS 1101 01. Improved system performance and stability. 02. Updated CastlePeakPI1.0.0.
  9. The reason I have always used USB 2 for my track ir is because I read somewhere a few years back that the track ir doesn't play nicely with USB 3.0 ports and certain chipsets, this has probably been resolved by now though. The USB 2 ports are normally black, you might have 2 on the top of your case, you have to manually plug them into the USB 2 headers on your board, but that has probably already been done..
  10. Join the ROG forum Checkmate, https://rog.asus.com/forum/ same as this forum mate, they are very helpful people but with the added advantage of they make the boards. Have you checked if you are using the latest BIOS rev ?
  11. You have sold me on it mate, the thing that was stopping me from buying the elite board was the realtec 2.5 GB LAN, as I would prefer the Intel Lan and the PRO AX has the Intel GB Lan. I am sorted for the cooler as I have been advised by Arctic that my ARCTIC Liquid Freezer 240 will fit the 1200 socket. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
  12. Which Mobo did you get reece146, I am going for the 10700k but the mobo choice is the only thing stopping me from upgrading at the moment. I was looking at the Gigabyte Aorus Elite without the wifi.
  13. Just a shot in the dark here but have you tried track ir in a different USB port. I don't know if you have it in a USB 3 port as some new mobos tend not to have many USB 2 ports anymore but I always have mine in a USB 2 port when I play ARMA.
  14. I went from a 970 to a 2080 purely for VR, I still have my 3770K and TBH if it wasn't for VR, I would have probably kept my 970. I got way better frame rates with the 2080 in VR at the settings I had set in DCS for my 970, (mainly low). With the 2080 though I can turn on a lot more eye candy and keep the same frame rates. I haven't played much at all since the 2.5.6 update as the frame rates have dropped through the floor, but my driving sims are also a lot better with the 2080 in VR. Other flat screen games like FPS, playing on a 1080p monitor, my 970 would still be good enough. You will see improvements with a 2060s and the RTX is great for other games too, as long as you don't enable it if playing a FPS online.
  15. Try moving the taskbar to the left or right of the screen before starting DCS world, this fixed it for me. When you click in the bottom part of your screen, eg the FLIR toggle in the Hornet, or the ESC, FLY, CANCEL button, the mouse goes to the bottom of the screen on windows behind the DCS screen and puts focus back on your desktop. That's the way I see it anyway.
  16. The way I stopped this from happening for me was advice from quadg, move the taskbar to the left or right of your screen. When I remember to move it the OOF message never appears.
  17. You read it correctly Don, last March (2019) I think I bought the Rift, and I am certain it said the 2 sensors should be : 1 in USB 3 and 1 in USB 2. I tried connecting both into USB 3 ports and one sensor wouldn't work unless it was in a USB2. After reading your post I now have 2 sensors and the headset all in Intel USB 3 ports and all 3 are working. The headset still says USB 2 connection sometimes and USB 3 connection other times but I should be upgrading soon when the Intel 10th gen come out, but new tech equates to new headaches, so it should be fun, see how many Bios updates are needed before the new Motherboards work. Just did a re-setup of my Rift and what an idiot, I misread the setup instructions, if you have more than 2 sensors one will have to go into a USB 2 port. So I must have taken this to mean the Headset and 2 sensors equalling 3. So now I have set it up with all 3 in USB 3 ports, so see how it goes.
  18. I have been looking on the oculus forums and it seems like the headset showing as USB 2 whilst being connected to USB 3 has been a problem for 4+ years. I fired up the PC earlier and again the Rift showed it was connected to USB 2, so I unplugged it, then plugged it back into the same port and it came up as USB 3. Maybe the age of my motherboard, I have no idea. Svsmokey, I am positive the Oculus instructions said to do the sensors this way, do you mean they should be both in USB 3 ?
  19. So this is hardware but relating to VR so 50/50 as to which forum to put this in. So my Rift is plugged in permanently to an Intel USB 3 port on the rear I/O connection on my Motherboard. My 2 sensors are respectively connected to a USB 3 and a USB 2 as specified by the Oculus set up. My problem is the Rift cannot make up its mind, sometimes it shows it is connected to USB 2 and sometimes USB 3. No big deal, except now I am getting a warning in Oculus home, telling me "USB 3 connection recommended". So why can't the Rift understand it is connected to a USB 3 all the time. I thought it could be power management by having too many USB things plugged in, but it does it whether I have 6 things or 10 things plugged in to USB ports. As I said no big deal as it still works, but we are going back to the OCD thread and the fact I do not like warnings on my Rig.
  20. Ha Ha Ha, that brings back a lot of memories BitMaster, the old motherboards with the jumpers on them. Years ago I worked in a shop selling computers and we had this tech guy who thought he was God. So one morning I got to work before anyone else and switched the jumpers on 2 display computers from pin 2 and 3 to pin 1 and 2 so the computers wouldn't start. Left him a few hours to try and fix them, then I said to him here let me have a look, I swapped the jumpers back without him noticing and fired them both up. The look on his face was priceless. Yeah, they don't make them like they used to, thank god.
  21. It eventually wears off, I remember my first few computers, sometimes formatting them 4 or 5 times a day because I had an error whilst using the computer then after the first format the GFX driver / Sound card driver / cd rw driver came back with an error whilst installing, so I would format again and again. There was nothing wrong whatsoever, but I couldn't handle seeing errors. It must be over 5 years now since I last formatted my computer. So give it time and it will wear off. As for sealed packages, unfortunately that doesn't wear off.
  22. Nice job with the patch ED, back to my 45 FPS in free flight Blackshark PG. I have to say though I think the level of detail is outstanding when flying over the towns and cities, I never really took much notice before as I mostly play online and am too involved in the mission at 20,000 + to notice the scenery.
  23. Exactly what I ended up doing, I was lucky though, I swapped my Gas/Electric supplier and got £100 Amazon vouchers so the hit on a new 2080 wasn't as harsh as it could have been.
  24. I went through the same last year mate, don't waste your time My previous post https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242388
  25. Just tried again on a online server and it is freezing for 2 to 3 seconds every 10 seconds, MSI graph showing, GPU temp. GPU usage, fan speed, in fact every graph apart from the memory clock has exaggerated saw tooth effect. Unfortunately this is now unplayable. Fingers well and truly crossed for a fix.
