  1. the day after my first post i flew 4 hops, disconnecting from the server after each one so i would have a separate dcs track file for each hop ran the replay on each one to make the tacview files - only ONE MISSION was good : ( i put a significant amount of time and effort in to this - it really makes me sorry when i have nothing to show for it
  2. i think that is the case you could have a missile headed your way, but you do not receive a corresponding indication the launching aircraft is utilizing a mode whose sole purpose is to guide a missile, and the system does not issue a signal that reflects that priority can anyone explain the logic in that??
  3. maybe its just me but it seems like track files desync more now than before i flew four hops today - all four failed when i replayed them for purposes of generating tacview files so i could see what "really" happened *cough*104thChangeYourNoTacviewPolicy!*cough* this is a bit extreme please build a better system - i cannot tell you how many hours and how many cpu cycles and how many gigabytes on my hard-drive have been wasted trying to get tacview files
  4. ah rgr that
  5. yep - the update is slow related to this - when you're in a server, and you check the scoreboard, you can't see "everything" when you scroll down, it only goes a little bit if you get "creative" with your sorting (sort by unit for example - and then toggle that so it reverses sort direction) you can see the other half of the list but, its more work - i hope someone has noticed this
  6. good idea right here
  7. yeah i don't like how the aircraft is receiving indications that i may be under fire and i'm not being notified this is a dangerous configuration and should be changed
  8. i'm trying the backup no luck there either : /
  9. i think its actually very slow
  10. +++1 8)
  11. lean in - reset - sit back normal done
  12. yep - you're right i *thought* i was putting in pure left-right stick - actually i was also adding in fore/aft unintentionally, thus causing the rudder behavior i was observing if you put in full aileron, then move the stick fore and aft, you'll see the rudders deflect fully left and right hmm!
  13. the motion of the pitch ladder in the heads up display beyond 30deg nose-up and -down looks strange the HUD pitch ladder symbology moves along with the background scene up until 30deg, then "slows" beyond 30deg ---- you can see the world in the background moving at a different rate than the pitch ladder i might not be doing a good job of explaining it - so here is a youtube video demonstration... ---- DCS 1.5.0 OpenBeta - HUD pitch ladder motion -- before 30deg vs after 30deg while i'm on the topic of the HUD, let me bring up one other point the edges of the pitch ladder symbology have "tick marks" that point in the direction of the nearest horizon ---- pre-1.5.0 HUD symbology was easy to read - 1.5.0 is now more difficult to read because pitch ladder symbology appears smaller and the "tick marks" are closer to the pitch angle number here are a examples of what i'm describing close-up.. my normal view... you can see - the symbology is "tight" (close together) and difficult to discern clearly and easily
  14. i searched on "rudder" and didn't find anything remotely resembling this when i'm starting up the f-15, part of my process is i "stir" the stick through its full range of motion and move the rudder pedals - then i turn around and check the movement of the control surfaces when i look, i see something odd i demonstrate that here... ---- aileron vs rudder movement -- pre flight cockpit wipe TLDR: full left stick results in LEFT rudder - and full right stick also results in... LEFT rudder but left and right pedal application results in correct control surface deflection that just looks odd to me anyone know what's going on here??
  15. also.. it seems like the in-game anti-collision lights are "blinking" whereas i think real-world eagle anti-collision lights are "on" with varying brightness --- not sure what the correct term for that is but i found this..
  16. +1 heck.. ALL eagle squadrons! 8)
  17. *cough* seems like i *cough* saw something *cough* in this very thread *cough* ;)
  18. --nevermind-- i think i misinterpreted what you were saying, stuge
  19. speaking of lights - the landing light doesn't turn off when the gear are retracted start a night mission, fly near the ground and roll inverted - the light will shine "through" the aircraft and illuminate the terrain it gives away your position - i know because when i see that light, i know what its from...
  20. my first impression? "wow! ED really listened to us!!" many many many positive changes "thank you ED"
  21. *cough*cough* the pilot states he launches a heater - then a sparrow - then another heater - then another sparrow which finally hits the point i'm directing your attention to is here we have heaters quite soundly defeated by flares keep in mind.. that's a MIG-25 in full burner --- let that sink in a little bit this is desert storm era modern-day missiles - sure, very CM resistant but up through the 90s... IR missiles should have some issues
  22. no - it needs to be a DCS-level aircraft (anyway, i don't think they're building FC3-level sims anymore)
  23. i'm not laughing ---- that is actually a brilliant idea
  24. except when you figure in radars don't work as well at low altitude....... : /
