Supermoon lunar eclipse - Share your pictures and tell us what you saw!

great weather in san diego 8) -
i'm curious - doesn't seem like clouds interfere with the pod or the mavericks - seems like they see right through the weather is that the case??
-
i look fwd to a lot of things - updated graphics, better framerates, rain, dynamic lighting, afterburners, dedicated server, new MP UI........ but howabout the sim simply starting up and the view NOT zooming out??

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
SDsc0rch replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
WHAT TURKEYDRIVER SAID!! no "gameplay" no "fairness" no "balance" those are weak weasel-words there are plenty of "games" out there on the internet, go "play" those - don't come here and ruin our SIMULATION -
yes, i agree ----- would be a great feature to have!

How many modules are you REALLY proficient at?
SDsc0rch replied to Pizzicato's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
purchases "many" (see sig) but really only proficient at "one" -
if you see it again, click "record" in shadowplay (or however you are able to record video) and you should try it and see what happens!

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
SDsc0rch replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
uhm... no i don't get this fascination with random obscure airframes that maybe oh say eleven people are interested in -
respectfully request to participate Lonewolf c/s - SDsc0rch preferred a/c - F-15C Eagle
-
load up the eagle with a single bag and no stores - unrestricted climb to 20k, 400kts on top and look around! and you better believe it, a high-speed pass over LV and then out to lake henderson and other areas i'm familiar with - then sure, i think a run by ("through"?heh!) hoover dam is def called for i think i'd do that a few times actually - each at a different time of day/night and then i think a fam flight around the range/complex is called for - ID the pertinent locations areas and airfields, and do some touch-and-goes - get used to the various elevations and rwy headings
-
ohhhh.. for a "step" function on the HOTAS like in the real-deal one press - nearest target locked "go!" no messing with a TDC

Dynamic Campaign Discussion Thread
SDsc0rch replied to winchesterdelta1's topic in DCS Core Wish List
yeah part of the reason f4 was able to have a dynamic campaign over such a large territory was the use of "aggregation" ---- AI units consisting of a flight or a tank column etc beyond a certain distance (the "bubble") were modeled as a single unit, thus saving CPU cycles DCS doesn't aggregate units, everything is explicitly modeled on an individual basis ---- you have a lot of units, you have a lot of CPU power required to support them -
sounds like you don't think that's how tactical aircraft actually arrive

Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range
SDsc0rch replied to KEULE's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
if anything, it looks very "blue" to me but, maybe they're mostly showing photos during the morning/evening time when the shadows are long - showing the dynamic shadows at long distance yes, there is a blue haze - but mostly i remember nevada as very bright and very much more "yellow" -
heheh! yep ---- that's exactly what i do - every hop (maybe every other) i jump out so i can capture the tacview but after i get back in, i write in the txt box that i did it because i was embarrassed of my score and i wanted to reset it LOL
-
correct me if i'm wrong, but.. i believe the ka-50 is a helo and there's a huey - i "thought" that was a full-up DCS level module i don't own any helo modules, my interest is purely in the modern fast-movers ---- so again, correct me if i'm wrong

not at all the performance of the EO/IRST system in DCS is quite simply over-modeled to start with, there is no argument whatsoever from the staff that the atmosphere in use is ideal/perfect - and that right there is unrealistic and EO/IR systems performance are highly dependent on atmospherics performance in haze, cloud, dust etc should suffer degradation - as well as low-alt vs high-alt - similarly looking up-sun vs down-sun and day vs night all i'm requesting (respectfully) is for similar rigorous attention to detail be paid to the EO/IR systems as with the radar missiles i think overall DCS would be improved ----- we would have to operate with sensor performance in mind tactics! i'm confused - how is that a bad thing? isn't that what we come to DCS for??
-
i really would like to see 104th review this policy i convert DCS trackfiles to tacview files all the time - and it is a HUUUUGE time waster and, the files are often (a third of the time?) corrupted and useless
-
re: missiles i wonder if EOS/IRST performance will be held to the same rigid standard as missiles? (ie.. reliance on "hard data" ---- no "guesstimating" (oops, looks like they already did) ---- listening to "both sides" in the argument (east v west ---- etc) all i'm saying is.. fair is fair

i have a question.. (and if this is the wrong place to put this, admins please feel free to move it to the proper location) wags was reading from a statement - can that statement be found online anywhere??

the very fact that this is the very first time i have ever seen or heard about this particular request, leads me to believe no, this specific thing will probably NOT be part of the graphics update known as 1.5 or the graphics+map update known as 2.0 (graphics update - not program/code/functionality update) if it was, i'm sure there would be a comment about it by people in the know and people not in the know, wouldn't make a statement regarding it
-
to ppl responding to my comment.. first, more than one person is responding to the OP in kind (and others joke about it) and, "flight sims" are not the only scenario where this happens - i see it a lot, and i also see a lot of those kinds of jokes why is that? because it is real but when it gets to the point (and i'm sorry for you cali), that you don't get to do what you want to do - ever....? that's not trivial - that's a problem especially if SHE gets to do what she wants to do but your interests, dreams, desires etc are indefinitely deferred (oh, extra bonus points - if you ever want to bail from this arrangement, your reward is paying for "the standard of living to which she has become accustomed" and seeing your children on the weekends - no downside to her at all --- win win win all over the place for her) : /
