Yes! Yes! Finally something semi solid in a while. Thank you Cobra, everyone's been getting antsy about this and DCS 2.0. This should quiet people down a little. :D

[CLOSED] Climb rate appears to be to high, even for 109k

Ok good. That's reassuring. -

I hope they still have people working on the 109 Beta while they are trying to finish 2.0 -
This is not an update thread.

Lol that's a good one :D

Apparently even announcements of modules are subject to delays. :D Don't mind me, I'm just being a PITA. ;)

I experience prop gov failure in the P-51 VERY frequently when taking fire. I don't know if this is correct or incorrect though.

It's all just right over the horizon! I think once this project is out and full fledged everyone is going to be really satisfied with it. :)

I think this thread has accomplished its objectives. It has shown to the devs the weight of concern placed on proper spotting by the community. So even though there's plenty of arguing, good job everybody, ;) you made a ruckus :D Thanks for starting the poll skendzie.
-
Yeah I have to do some more deep thinking about it before I'm dead set on pursuing it, It's nice I still have some time. Thanks for the link.

My curve for rudder is around 30, but it could probably use more tweaking, I'm not entirely satisfied with the in air usage. I just use rudder control to taxi, unless I need to make a very sharp turn. In that case, I will use the brakes and unlock the tail wheel if I really need to.

This makes me feel like Rudel is just trolling us since the picture you found is pretty much exact, yet it doesn't match the RL version!  I'll bet it's a simplification of the real design, so we aren't going to be able to find an exact match.

Looks like you nailed it! Where'd you find that picture?

I'm not too worried about flying, I've always liked rollercoasters a lot. I didn't know you need recommendation letters for OTS. So they are more community based recommendations that are needed? I'm closer to underweight than overweight :D, I'm working on it. Final goal? Hmm, I don't know yet how long I'd want to be in the service. Afterwards I'd probably try to use my engineering degree to do something technical in the aeronautical field. I kind of assumed that about recruiters, lol. Thanks for the response.

Thanks xgibbousx, that's very reassuring. If he can do it in that way, I think I won't have that much trouble. I don't have any flight time yet, but I should have some by the time I'm out of school. I wonder how much flight time I would need for it to look good on an application, without being to much overkill? I don't have the money for hundreds and hundreds of hours...
-
Lately, my flying times have been all over the place. I do see that trend somewhat, but I personally haven't seen any huge Allied numbers in a while.
-
Well, I'm almost finished with my Junior year of college so I'm too old for that, but I hope to go through OTS after I've graduated. 8)

Yes, it's a fine line between trying for the most realistic scenarios and not infringing on people's overall fun. It just really annoys me when I often see servers where it is something like 12 vs. 5 in favor of the Axis side. When it's 12 vs. 5 favoring the Allies it doesn't bother me since that's what real Axis pilots had to face at that time in history. I like to fly on both sides, but I almost always try to be a good sport and play for the underdog side. Not everyone does the same.... :(
-
That's fine and I prefer that way, but then Multiplayer servers and the game in general should be practically forced to represent the Allies' numerical superiority. That would make it appropriately realistic.

Just turn this project into a remake of "b17 the mighty 8th"
Ultra replied to guiltyspark's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I see. Interesting. I still think DCS WWII should become it's own game and not try to emulate others. It's always good if they draw upon the positive aspects of others though. -
I don't know about stopping them from joining, but you can definitely have a script that kicks them. The 104th guys use it and can tell you how to implement it.

I didn't think he was a troll, I just thought the initial responses were funny and kind of turned it into a joke thread. I never played that game but I like DCS's uniqueness in that it gives more sandbox freedom for mission creation, as opposed to classic style games. The bombers are coming and will add a lot toward making the WWII aspect more legitimate. -
For modern aircraft, the most populated servers are usually the 104th, TAW, and sometimes the 51st and 159th servers. The WWII and Korean servers are populated much less frequently, but there are a few out there that get busy at certain times, such as JG 27, DoW, 39th VFS, or The Korean War!.

Update: I tried a kind of White Synthetic Grease. It did not work very well :(. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm going to slowly work my way through them until I find one that works well. @Wrench - Indeed, that's what I figured out in post #4. Interesting suggestion.
