Thanks guys, I’m glad I’m not alone on this. Harlikwin, add the Mi-24 and AH-1Q, and something to cover the Viggin, and that’s my list too. F-4E would be a dream jet. I’m bummed that it’s on the back burner.

If we’re being honest I would rather Raz do the A-7, and Heat Blur do the strike Eagle. I mean either way we might see the latter this decade, and at least HB has the JESTER AI already implemented. But yes I think the A-7 would be a good move for Raz, right after the MiG-23. Fallowed maybe by a SU-17/22. Give that Cold War era red fore something to really move some mud with. God it would be cool, Cats, and MiGs fighting it out I the air, wile A-7s, Su-17s, and Mi-24s turn the battle field into a really good impression of the moon. Armor would melt, ships would sink, the earth would burn. Probably never gonna happen, sadly. But it would be fun to see that late Cold War go hot. More so because we would all get up and have dinner after. I don’t get it, that era has some of the coolest planes ever. What more you really have to fly them, and there declassified now. But all the dev teams seem hell bent to one up each other with that latest possible 4th gen wonder fighter. What’s the point? You sell one jet that can do everything, and that’s it. And I truly think those will see diminishing returns in the future. Why have both a strike Eagle, a F-16, and a F-18 that all carry basically the same weapons, and do basically the same things? But hi well that’s the direction it all went, and I’m just being a wish full old man.

In several actual incidents the A-7 and the F-14 cooperated. In the Gulf of Sidria incident for instance SA-5s were fired at F-14s, A-7s in the area responded with HARMs. In a post Vietnam pre Hornet air wing it would be Tomcats clearing the sky’s, and A-7s plowing the road, with A-6s delivering the heavy payload. Again as seen in Libya. The A-7 also carried a ton for the early PGMs. So it’s really needed on the Forestalls deck. The A-7 and F-14 could really complement each other in DCS as in the real world. The A-6 would be nice to have as well, but not really Necessary. If for instance there was to be an opposed marine landing in say 1985ish, it would likely be the A-7s providing CAS, and performing SEAD operations. A-6s and A-7s would share the job of striking key logistic targets. And F-14s would establish air superiority, and escort. Since the A-7 can do every role the A-6 can, and was really good at CAS and SEAD I think it would add the most benefit complementing the F-14. Yes, you could use Hornets for all of that, but some of us like the old iron. Was that a proper clarification of my position?

God I hope. This team had a rough start, possibly due to the very ambitious projects they started with, but I love all three of there modules. And the F-14 doesn’t really work without the A-7. So hopefully we’ll get to see it some day. It a favorite of mine, and would be a day one buy for me.

I took the 19 out of the barn last night for the first time in like a year. Guys all I can say is thank you. I’m getting a little burned out on the 4th gens lately. And I was great to be talked into a flight of B-17s. I know I know not realistic. But the B-52 has its guns removed, and I wanted something that can shoot back. Got my first two kills in the Framer and love it. I can’t wait to see what you do with the MiG-23. I really love the second and third gen jets. Thank you for bringing this one to life. Personally I kinda wish you guys would just focus on the 1950-1970 time period. But I know the big 4th gens are what sells. But still the 19 is so cool. I can imagine what you could do with a F-100, or a Mig 17. Or a B-47. I personally think that this time period would yield the most satisfying online play, but maybe that’s just me. Still thank you for the Mig-19.

Twin Huey would have to be another full module, and a day one buy. But to just get the RWR, as it’s really all that’s missing, no. Multiplayer Multi crew needs to happen, and not as a paid addon. A jester like Ai would be great, with call outs from the crew, and the ability to set target prorties on the fly. Although I may be mistaken, but isn’t the left seater the AC commander? And let the AI take over the radio, and nav wile I fly the damn thing. Or even better have it fly the damn thing wile I melt shit with the mini guns. I don’t mean the way it is now, I mean the AI flying like any AI while the player can occupy one of the other positions. All of that I would pay $20 to $30 for. Shouldn’t have to but this is the real world, and even that kind of upgrade wouldn’t see a big enough spike in new sales to justify it.

Not telling you how to run your house, but. It seems that there are some truly great mods for DCS. The French Pack comes to mind. Since these guys are already working for free, why not use them? I know you have previously stated that moders need to submit there work to you, and that makes since. But maybe put a subsection here on the forums detailing exactly what they should do and how. It seems a good way to expand the core content, while keeping a good eye on quality. Just a thought.

Is there a way to make “construction vehicles” to repair runways, bridges, roads? Nothing to fancy, just slowly repair facilities within a defined zone around the vehicle. Maybe some simple movements wile conducting repairs. One it lets air bases get fixed. Two it could make for some good fallow up strikes. Three it could give you some more targets to go after. The reason I asked for movement/animations while conducting repairs is, one I looks good. Two the dust kicked up from moving trucks or dozers would be more visible form the air. Something to think about while your evaluating the core game. P.S. I know how we fans seem on here, Never satisfied, always complaining. Let me say thank you for saving combat flight simulation, and giving me the chance to experience some of my favorite aircraft. I’ve been here since Lockon, and hope to be here for manny more decades. Here’s to the future.

[NOT REALISTIC] Does Viper has doule 120c rack?
FlankerKiller replied to nthere's topic in Wish List
The F-15X can carry like 12 AMRAAMs, and there’s a drone that being developed to offload the missals to a missal truck. Thing is the PK isn’t 90% but the missal fires at near RMAX makes that target react. And your reacting too. So more is better, and you’ll likely be down to just a few if ever your in a merg. But IRL air forces do not want to “dog fight”. Hell even in WWII we tried not to “dogfight”. It’s something you do because you have to. But you want to murder your opponent with minim risk to yourself. So lots of Fox III and run. Spamming the air with a tone of Fox III and turning cold the moment things look dicy is a pretty good way to get air superiority, if you can afford to do it. So that’s probably why. Can it always be done, no. Think escorting a strike package against a time sensitive target. But if you can you will. Dose this make for the best online play, no. I personally this that the Gen I and II jets would make for the best play experience, culminating in Vietnam. But even in Vietnam SPAM and run was a real tactic, and if the NVA pilots had been a little better at it, and the missals had a little better seekers, our losses would have been a lot worse. So to wrap up or missals are really good these days, and our SA is pretty amazing. So it’s being developed precisely so we can SPAM and run if we need to, and can get away with it. I could write an easy, complete with citations, but I think My soap box needs a brake. -
I think when your picking your own targets, and there not moving JDAM is the way to go. But if working with a FAC or an AFAC you may find the LGB a bit easier and more intuitive. I suspect that if the Kiowa isn’t complete shit you online guys will be getting a lot more use out of those LGBs. The counter argument is that IRL most of those heavy tanks have laser detection, aka the one in the Blackshark, and will pop smoke and move the moment the FAC lights them up.
-
Man I can’t agree more. Nothing in DCS gives me as much pleasure as getting close and laying some MK20s on a formation of vehicles. Plus it still has the MAVs. Just I simpler get close and blow shit up version of the aircraft. Leave the LGBs and JADAMs to the fast movers.
-
With construction vehicles to carry it out? Similar to supply trucks. Kill the vehicles stop the repair.
-
Just the other day I managed a one wing flight back to the boat, after being hit by an SA-2 or SA-3. I’ve also been insta killed by guns, with little damage to the rest of the jet. So I think it’s a bit more complicated then just a damage threshold.
-
I would definitely be interested. I’m in the U.S. so timing may be an issue.
-
Not exactly. Spalling is usually caused by penetration. A dinky 20mm HE round would bearly scratch the armor of most WWII “tanks”. On top of that most modern armor has some anti spalling measures in place. So yeah the crew would probably shit there pants, but that would be about it.
-
Same here. But it’s different, and it can kill a carrier!!! It’s different, it has different weapons, and I can use it like a red F-16, what’s not to love.
-
I have to say, I’m unusually exited about this. I decided to pass on the Viper, for now, when I learned about the JF-17. I’m completely stoked about a Foreign, potentially red air, 4th gen multi role fighter. Especially one that can threaten my beloved carrier. I just can’t wait to fly it, to fly against it. I think DCS really really needed this. I can’t wait till the 4th so I can meet it at angels 30.
-
God I hope. Two of my greatest wishes for DCS are this, and the A-10A to get fully modeled. I doubt it’ll ever happen. But it would be great it did.
-
Agree completely, I’m not an electrical engineer, but I am an aircraft electrician, and this would have been fixed immediately.
-
Umm, no not exactly. If you were close to your overall load rating, say 50amp, and the lode spike put you over the limit, then you might see both pop. But in aircraft it is extremely rare to ever pop the main gen, or batt beakers. The smaller breakers in a series are there to prevent that, and to allow the use of smaller gauge wire. If the 5amp breaker was to hold the load long enough to pop the 50amp braeker then the 5amps wiring would be permanently damaged. So I know this is an old aircraft, but there is no way that the system behavior I’ve seen is realistic. It would have been modded really quickly to fix it if it was.

I’m sure it can be, every other system is simulated. Hell it can be as simple as the AI trying to get on your six. It can be stated and stoped like all other actions. But I do believe they could do it properly. It just hasn’t been done. -

A “land on ground” option for departure points to go with the “take off from ground option”, and make it for non VTOL aircraft. Use the direction from the previous point to determine the landing direction, and the next point to determine the takeoff direction. Maybe include a taxi way point as well.
