  2. BLUF: why compromise on the single attribute that sets you apart from your competitors and attracts your customer base. Especially when they have a huge lead going down that route. If it didn't have a clickable cockpit and ASM I would not buy it and I would not allow it in my server except as AI. IF it was going to be a fully clickable cockpit with PFM and ASM and was released in stages, as an AI then released in Early Access as a SFM with the intent that it evolved into PFM and ASM without me having to pay for an upgrade (i.e. I pay $40 for early access and those who passed and waited until it was released with PFM and ASM pay $69) i would definitely purchase and participate in providing feedback while it develops. I fly DCS WWII for the PFM and ASM and EDs previous unwillingness to compromise unless evidence could be provided. If ED is going to go the route of other flights "sims" there are other options, cheaper, (They charge $19.99 for a similar product.) with bigger planets and player base that are coming to the ETO soon.
  3. I think you will find that this only applies to AI in a client group. Another group of AI only will outrun you at altitude I think.
  4. Not a lot more lag but more freezing and crashes of the server. Not using any mods bit need to confirm that it is not something on my end.
  5. Yes but does it work is is it static? In the screen above the range is set to point blank for the coaxial MG. Can the main gun range be set appropriately?
  6. Actually we have: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3581001&postcount=9 And https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3581242&postcount=15 It would make sense for the Corsair to have a map but looks like a new effort by M3 will be needed or wait for Cobra to finish it and release his "personal portfolio" although he hints that M3 is working on something on their own.
  7. With the P-40F we would have two Allied a/c that were operational in '43. Anyway a winter texture would be a bonus. The missions I am interested in take place from Jan - Jun '44 so ideally we could have two winter textures, one with snow and one that is late winter/early spring when there are no leaves on the trees but not much snow. Launching sorties across the channel in March with the air temperature 5°C and bright green fields with fully leaved trees is a bit of an immersion breaker. Nineline has confirmed on several occasions that the map is feature complete. Our best hope is that Barthek or someone else like him takes an interest and makes a texture mod that covers the AGLs so we can choose to use them or not and gives us a winter texture.
  8. Like I said, we are talking about the map objects that have been identified as targets only. I run the coop on my server so the "host" is not flying or hitting targets. None of the targets at Creech are counted as destroyed. All but one of the targets at Lincoln are counted as destroyed. All are map objects, none are units.
  9. There is a slider on the bottom of the overlay that controls transparency, it needs to be to the right to be at max opaque.
  10. What, you mean like the Viggen?
  11. I made three Sabre vs Mig-15 campaigns (Normandy, Caucuses and Nevada) but the Mig-15 damage model, AI model and Sabre gun sight and AI are so bad that it was just frustration. The Sabres would fly slow and low and line up like they were trying to launch an Aim-120 when all they had were guns and even if you had a Mid on fire it was still a viscous opponent. The Sabre did bomb targets well though and the Might was terrible at bombing but good at strafing. I will look at them again with recent improvements and see if they are playable. The other issue for some will be the requirement to use the WWII Assets Pack and a couple of other mods to make it viable. Similarly, my Mustang and Spitfire campaigns need the Assets Pack to be finished to make it worthwhile.
  12. We were in coop, sometimes with three players and one AI. The AI would not bomb the fuel tanks and ammo storage at Creech, nor would they be considered destroyed at the end of the mission if a player hit them. Other targets, like Lincoln airport, the AI would attack and if a player hit a target it would count as destroyed.
  13. Nineline, while you are out swatting bugs, have a look at this one and also the info in this thread:https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2982233#post2982233 Particularly posts https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2982233&postcount=21 and onwards.
  14. Nineline, see https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164287 and also: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=182110 It happens when the pilot lands too hard and the gear should you damaged. Instead, the nose gear vanishes and normally you see the main gear retract and the a/c continue to roll it and taxi off. If you hit particularly hard the nose hits the ground and there is a fireworks display of sparks from the nose inside the cockpit as well. It happens so frequently in MP servers from all the new guys who normally fly the Eagle or are converting from tail feathers that you forget this is not normal.
  15. Some map objects can't be destroyed anymore. Playing the Desert Tiger campaign again recently, the map objects at Creech can be bombed and won't register as destroyed nor will the AI attack them so I think the problems are related. Other map objects are counted when you bomb them and your AI wingmen will attack them.
  16. While a Pacific Map would be the Gold Standard if it came out before the competition with the detailed Carrier ops that it appears DCS World is capable of delivering, the elephant in the room is as Philstyle points out, the 6 to ten years to get, map, assets and player a/c ready for early access. The Pacific would play to DCS's strengths ( Carrier ops, high Fidelity FM, SM etc) and downplay it's weaknesses. The small land mass would make development faster presumably. Most islands would not require any details at all since they were unoccupied atolls etc. DCS is not good in multiplayer with any amount of ground unit movement and small islands would naturally limit movement and largely could be mostly eliminated by carefully selected scenarios. The campaign was primarily air and sea so most battles could be done convincingly with no ground forces. With DCS map size and most of it being ocean you could cover most of the AO for the Coral Sea or Solomon islands on a map. ED would need to put out one of those maps (quick), two player a/c, an F4F and an early A6M2. They would need to make a handful of AI, Dauntless, Devastator, A5M, Val, Kate and Betty. Oh and four fleet carriers, a Japanese light carrier, a USN cruiser, destroyer, oiler etc and an IJN cruiser destroyer, minesweeper, tug, supply ships etc. This would be like putting the patient on the transplant list for a new heart, what we need now is a transfusion to keep the patient alive. The planeset that we have now and the ones that we are aware are confirmed, less the I-16 and P-40, make the most sense in the AO proposed by the OP. The map lends itself to the strategic, operational and tactical levels. It would cover the time period from 1943 to the end of the war, meaning additional a/c development could be supported by those already released at each end. The problem is that it is a huge landmass and development will be slower. FPS will be more affected than open water. Ground forces moving will cause problems. I think what we need to reinvigorate DCS WWII is AI aircraft, allied AAA, trains and ground vehs that work (follow tracks or trucks that follow roads) and placeable airfield zones with appropriate buildings ( hangar, windsock , control van etc.) To flesh them out. And, a roadmap specifically for WWII from ED outlining the vision of what they are going to do and what is open for third parties, and some very general timelines The OP map would be great, but we need to keep enough interest in DCS WWII to get there.
  17. @ Nineline, I was wondering if this was on the Bug tracker at all and if we had an eta
  18. So it is not a Belsimtek issue and should be reported in the Museum Relic DLC Campaign thread...
  19. That is a fairly old bug. It occurs in all missions when the sun is at a low angle behind you.
  20. Great work, can't wait to try them out
  21. Thanks, will try it out this weekend
  22. So, more on this and drop tanks that may make the issue more complicated or narrow down the problem. We did get a chance to fly a mission with AI flights escorting us as well. The AI in our flight bailed out over the channel on the way home. The other flights, all AI, flew the entire mission and landed with no problem. So, the issue might be that only AI in your flight are having issues with fuel usage or maybe AI in your flight are the only ones not using the drop tanks. Out of town until Sunday but when I get home, I am going to try the same mission with no one having a drop tank and note when they all bailed out.
  23. And don't forget that currently the Blue coalition can't make use of GCI, only the Red one can. This would need to be fixed as well.
  24. Zhukov, I think you missed Streakeagles point, it was not well articulated. I believe that his point was that no bird owner is going to allow that level of potentially destructive testing on a priceless aircraft that can't be replaced. During the war however, they pushed engines and airframes to and past the engineered limits as it was a matter of life and death and let's face it they weren't a dime a dozen but they could be replaced.
