Another good point since the version of the Mig-15 and the Sabre we have never engaged in combat over Korea, the anecdotes we get do not necessarily apply.

Glad you enjoyed your self! The current mission rotation is two dogfighting missions, there will be a 'sandbox' mission scenario and a ground attack practice range added to the rotation soon. Also on most Sundays @ 1900GMT we run a campaign mission. The campaign is beta and we are just testing various mechanics for different scenarios that may occur in the dynamic campaign we have planned. The calendar is on the server website has details.

Best climb speed varies with alt and configuration. For the Sabre climb schedules can be found in T.O. 1F-86F-1 in the appendices for a standard day.

Had exactly the same result when we tried to do a squad aar last night. I was trying to show the guys the potential of getting the standard version over the starter version and couldn't host the AAR. Used the default port forwarded correctly and tried to get one of the other pilots to host who is on the 21 day trial, no go for him either. Everyone has the same result as Gliptal describes. -

That would be amazing, even with the robotic voices it would be a big bonus if it could do that through Simple Radio. -
So not sure what is wrong but I can't hit it at all and even trying to collide with it I was unsuccessful. Does this have a damage model?

VEAO has one in development.

I find the mouse wheel is sufficient, I'm using a Logitech wireless trackball actually that I use for CAD but is not specifically designed for that, it just has good precision. Having a rotary that you can map would be useful for the radio compass though as well as a few other controls in the cockpit.

Actually, it is stupidly simple to make this happen. Remembering that we are not talking about every John, Dick and Harry who wants to occasionally run a co-op mission for their buddies, they already have a copy and don't need another, but for those that run a 24/7 dedicated server. As a server admin I already have a second account that I use to host the dedicated server because I'm not leaving my gaming rig on 24/7 and I'd like to fly too, sometimes in other people's servers. So this other account has no modules, it only hosts the mission. If they were to give me a second copy of the map for that account I could not fly with it anyway, since it has no modules. If I were to activate an aircraft module on it they would simply need to deactivate my map and they know what modules are linked to which accounts. If they had done this with the NTTR there would be more than the six 24/7 dedicated public servers in 2.0 I'd bet. I would be running one for certain. It would benefit the community, the server admins who don't have to buy a superfluous map while waiting for the dedicated server software to be released and ED. Let's face it, the best advertising they get are the videos made by community members posted on YouTube made in multiplayer servers.

What data would you include? All the information on the airport diagrams, i.e. runway length and orientation? Tower frequencies, ils and NDB beacons? Could it be expanded to give current QFE by interacting with the mission curious in the server? -
Thanks for the explanation, I will look into setting up our server this way.

Glad that was helpful, I wish we had a more up to date manual for multi-player to avoid these questions coming up over and over. Still not sure if that was what the OP was after...

You can't see a server on the same network that you are on, not since last fall. You also can't connect to it except by direct connection, use the IP for your server, the one that you port forward in your router settings.

Only if it's Combined Arms compatible

Go back to the original post and watch the video, it shows you how to do that with the existing overlay in the current release. For this test release as he said, it is WIP for the new style overlay and will be a while.

Actually, you will require an AWACS for the Blue coalition since the EWR only will respond to the Red coalition at the moment. This has been an issue for a while and is related to unit call signs it appears. Hopefully the WWII radar introduction will make all maps more playable. The closer to beat a release the better.

Awesome! Looking forward to giving this a go. Finally a real chopper oriented mission. -
Is there a MOD that enables "Impostors" in 1.5.6?
71st_AH Rob replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in DCS Modding
The issue is that the aircraft that need this are the WWIi and early jets that don't have BVR capabilities. Ie no radar and they don't leave visible exhaust trails or fire missiles that you would see. As for seeing the aircraft itself the early jets are almost invisible until within a couple of miles on my 4k monitor which means I need to fly in 1080p to have a chance. The problem is particularly bad flying the Sabre, it is the exception and leaves a significant smoke trails that makes it easy to track and fires missiles that give it away. Inexplicably it is also far easier to see than the Mig-15 despite it being only a couple of feet longer and grater wingspan of two feet. I flew the Mig-15 last night just to see the difference and I could fly in 4k and fight fine against it. I may need to switch sides until this gets fixed just so I can enjoy the 4k I've invested in hardware to see. -
Strange, I was acting as Blue GCI and was getting half a red conversation and all the blue. I suspect that the red players were sending to all when they intended it to be red only though. I can't say for certain if I was missing any blue only chat, I will try to confirm tonight.

Ghosting seems to be completely gone on initial launch of the server and new mission, however ending the mission and loading the next one without rebooting the server results in more serious ghosting than previously.
-
Cool. I remember that Voodo when I was a kid. I'd forgotten about it and when I saw Hawk One I was curious why it would be in the F-15 instead of Sabre skins.
-
Yes, you should! Two or three Sabre patrols of two aircraft are always around to practice against if there are no humans on yet. It is up 24/7 unless it has crashed and I wasn't around to restart it. We run a DCS Simple Radio server as well so it is easy to coordinate with any other Migs that are on the server. And we run events every second Sunday at 1700Z where we are always looking for Mig pilots.

I don't think that it is just a small chapel but using the Citroën parked beside it for scale, only children or very short people could get in. Although, if the Panther is in scale with the terrain those are the largest passenger cars Citroën ever produced. I think these are fairly early in development and we need to wait to see them closer to release. The grass is looking good and appears deformed in front of the Panther and some marks behind...and I think the point of this image was to be the grass.
