Exactly. And after you set up the train only the host can see it in multiplayer. When you test the mission in single player it shows up. Sometimes I can't see them at all when I'm the host sometimes I can in multiplayer.

We have been enjoying this, currently our go to server for WWII. Two suggestions, one set up a Simple Radio server to go with it with Autoconnect enabled, it would really improve communication and cooperation and second, disable most of the server messages such as "bloggins took off from airfield xyz" Keep up the great work!

Type "Korea" in the search bar at the top of the servers list and it will be the only one to come up.

I can get AI_A2A_GCICAP working but must be doing something wrong as I'm not getting a satisfactory result. For example, I spawn a combat box of B-17 and the GCI spawned 36 groups of one Fw-190 to intercept it, each one acting independently. Once, one gets shot down, it is replaced. Then end result is that it feels more like an arcade experience, like playing Space Invaders rather than a Mil SIM that is responding to a situation based on doctrine. All in all GCICAP was easier to set up and could be massaged to make it feel like you were getting a doctrinal response from a thinking enemy. AI_A2A_DISPATCHER is much better but still does not feel like a doctrinal response. For example it can generate a response of three or five aircraft which feels artificial. GCICAP could do that but could be forced to respond in fours.

Working on it. I love the Sabre vs. Mig-15 match-up. If only the last few updates hadn't wrecked my scripts...

http://www.ariescon.com/index12.html The tool has unfortunately been pulled from the site. It stopped working with 1.5.? and started returning "ditkey_xxx" for all the a/c and pilot names etc. Also was not working for all the new a/c and I think it is being updated but not sure. Anyway like the one you mentioned built for another sim at least it is a starting point if someone were to take up the challenge. I think it is a lack of time that is keeping it from being re-released.

Mod that allowed aircraft to start from anywhere
71st_AH Rob replied to Pikey's topic in DCS Modding
I was just suggesting that adding the grass field would enable the use of the warehouse since it isn't working with the mod. Adding hangers from the VP Airfield Equipment mod would make it look more like an airfield -
Mod that allowed aircraft to start from anywhere

It's there and you can place it, it has a warehouse but you can't see anything in the 3D world or place A/C at one. I was thinking of a test with the VP airfield equipment mod to see how good I could make it. -

What about using the "grass field" that is partially implemented? -
OVERLORD - The ultimate Normandy SP Missions
71st_AH Rob replied to Reflected's topic in User Created Missions General
Downloaded it the other day and made it multiplayer. I post the Mustang Ace Cold start version on my server and had a couple of squad members and a few random players join in. We had a blast! Here are a couple of observations, for the Cold version, move the bomber spawn positions over England otherwise they have hit the target and are heading home before you get across the channel. There did not appear to be any en fighters spawned to attack the mission to Rouen. Also, did you start using the WWII bomber mod at some point? It might add some variety until the Asset Pack gets updated. -

F-15C Dynamic Campaign: Screaming Eagle
71st_AH Rob replied to MBot's topic in User Created Missions General
Open the mission editor and go into this folder: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\Campaigns\Screaming Eagle\Init Open the base_mission.miz and edit the EWR units At Tenopah you will see a unit that is called Tonopah AFB EWR the unit type is a EWR 1L13, change this to a EWR 55G6. Do this for all the EWR 1L13 that you find in the mission. Then save the mission and run the first_mission.bat file. run the first mission and it should work. -

It's only the one EWR that is not working, just change it in the basement file in the initial folder and run the first_mission .bat file and it should work. -
Persian Gulf ground assets?
71st_AH Rob replied to Stratos's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Please, let's hope they don't take this approach again. A paid Combined Arms Cold War, yes, but let's keep the servers open as we can to players. -
How to Correctly Install Your Mods
71st_AH Rob replied to uboats's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
JSGME still works, you either need to edit the JSGME.cfg file or just install it in the "C:\Users\Rob\Saved Games\DCS.openalpha" folder and move your JSGME mods folder to your saved games as explained above but in a folder called "_MODS" or whatever you called it before. Bottom line, just move JSGME and the associated mod folder from the root directory to the saved games directory. -
Procedures for intercepting aircraft in WWII and Korea?
71st_AH Rob replied to aileron's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Chuck is correct, however the first fighter that could really operate independently of GCI was the F-4 Phantom. The night fighters that operated during WWII were guided to target by GCI and used the on board RADAR to determine if they were in firing position. GCI is still used today and AWACS essentially does the same thing. This makes me wonder why people are so against having map icons turned on in multiplayer. -
It would appear so, in the past you could run a server on a lan with other clients and in fact you only needed one license on the lan so you could have several people play on your lan using only your registers copy. Now I suppose you can't do that anymore and that may be why it has been changed, to force additional licenses to be used? Not sure, have not tried it at all, so just speculating there.

To be fair, maybe it is a more advanced simulation than we give them credit for. Both tanks you showed were equipped with snorkeling gear... Now if we could just get a destroyer to depth charge them

Red Flag Rumble - Mig15 vs F86 - Round 4
71st_AH Rob replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Tournaments & Events
On behalf of the 71st, thanks for hosting the event we had a blast, in fact my ears are still ringing! The GCI was excellent and added an extra level of immersion. I will try to bring an extra pilot to act as a GCI controller for our squadron and another flight next time. Cheers!
