Thrustmaster Warthog T.A.R.G.E.T. - I'm lost :(
escaner replied to LuSi_6's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Reflected, I don't find that method versatile in TARGET at all. That way you forfeit the ability to have more complex macros, e.g. doing several actions with just one press, or mapping axes to keys in some aircraft while leaving the axis for the others. Also, I am not 100% sure that you could map e.g. the speedbrakes for the A-10C, F-5 and F-15 successfully; and if you do it would involve a dirty triple mapping solution. -
Introducing the VPC Stealth Rudders

No brakes? :( -
If you are looking for a TARGET profile, here is mine. I find Joystick configuration very personal and that is why I always make my own profiles. You need to map the definitions in the second page of the PDF for it to work, and of course the axes in DCS. Modify the profile to your own liking. Note that italics design secondary functions using the paddle as shift. I also made a couple of oh-shit macros for those times when you don't know why your air-to-air or air-to-ground weapons are not releasing. Edit: note that my TrackIR bindings are not standard so they will not work out of the box. dcs-f5e-warthog.zip

There was the same issue in the A-10C and it was fixed in this week's patch: it is obviously a bug. It is very annoying at dusk/night.

In DCS 1.5.7.7741.317 open beta, the HUD is now dark instead of clear as before. See attached images to compare current HUD to how it was before. Now: Before:

True, fixed in 1.5.7.7741.317. It is still a bit darker than outside of the HUD, but I understand that this is the effect they wanted to give it in the first place, as other aircraft are the same.

I see, thank's. So many subforums... didn't look in that one.

Just noticed that in DCS 1.5.7.7631.314 open beta, the HUD is now dark instead of completely clear as before. See attached images.

What I posted was all Caucasus.
-
Yes to both. The tutorial missions are perfectly fine to start with the aircraft. I haven't tried the single missions. Look at the screenshots for a list of missions in the Caucasus. Edit: Actually the module is pretty much finished. I just miss delivery profiles in the manual for Snakeyes and CBU bombs and a bug here and there to fix. But it looks to me that all Belsimtek wanted to deliver is already there.

I don't think so, that is why I said "one factor" ;)

Temperature could be one factor. Fuel density changes with that. Sent from my MI PAD 2 using Tapatalk

I also find a bit disappointing that the F-5 does not have a campaign, but OTOH, this is what they advertise (and it is what we have): Single missions and full set of training missions will be created while in Early Access Extended Campaign for the F-5E by Maple Flags Missions Developer (not included in the module package)

Use M151 for blast fragmentation HE and Mk.5 for HEAT.

At first glance, the Mirage looks like a nice module, but if you are a hardcore flight sim enthusiast and want to experience the complete procedures in this aircraft, INS navigation, different A-G attack profiles, etc. you will soon notice that it is an unfinished product. The manual is incomplete, it has been a long time since it was last updated. Razbam was doing a great job working in the Mirage, with lots of weekly updates and have been and still are very verbose about them, which is great, but forgot about the manual. Unfortunately these updates have been greatly reduced lately, as they are mainly focused now in their next product, strange enough this happened about the same time they changed the M2000C status from "early access" to "finished product". When doing the tutorials, you will soon notice that many systems do not work as described. Eg, the INS at first glance looks pretty cool, but when you do the different update position methods, they just do not work: they are not implemented. The A-G gun tutorial describes something that does not work like that; precision bombing, I could not even repeat the procedure. The A-G pipper both for bombs and gun wasn't accurate at all (I saw that the one for guns was updated after I tried, so it may be fixed). Then FM in the ground seems flawed: you need lots of thrust to start moving and even to keep moving, feels as if wheels are always braking. Engine sounds are very weird. E.g. there are doppler effect sounds for a static camera relative to the airplane, and muting inside the cockpit when you get to Mach 1, which makes no sense. To sum up: if you just want it to quick startup, takeoff and go air-to-air in an online server, it will serve your purpose perfectly. OTOH, if you are looking for a complete, accurate module and exploit all the features ofthe aricraft, do not get it because it is not yet there (at least until Razbam comes back to it and eventually finishes it, but AFAIK they have not stated when that will be).

The F-16A was designed as a low budget dogfighter with a limited radar and no medium range air-to-air capabilities. Only a handful (compared to the total sells) of them were upgraded (ADF) and could even launch the Sparrow. That is how most of them were built and this is my view of the model. OCU gave them provision to carry the AMRAAM, but it is pretty unclear to me that they could actually fire them "as is". I have read everything: that they could launch but w/o mid course updates and that they needed further upgrades (software, etc) to fire them. Anyway, that would be already in the '90s.

So you guys want an F-16A because it is simple, yet you want a retrofitted version with F-16C capabilities? I don't get it...

DCS.exe in Nvidia Cpanel - How?
escaner replied to Falcon_S's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
More tests: updated to latest drivers 382.33, no changes. As said in other messages above, activating FXAA on the Nvidia control panel does work (with its horrendous blurryness). So I will just leave the in game AA, that actually works pretty fine. -
DCS.exe in Nvidia Cpanel - How?
escaner replied to Falcon_S's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Same here, both DCS 1.5 and 2.1 completely ignore Nvidia Control Panel settings for AA. I have also tried modifying the global settings instead of the DCS profile ones and hitting ALT+ENTER as people says that DCS does not really run in fullscreen (bug lying around like forever). Nothing works. -
The .50 cal ammo in the P-51 is API (armor piercing and incendiary), and some of them are also tracers. No explosive rounds per se. But their damage is supposed to be increased with the new damage model.

CCIP is used when its pipper is inside the HUD. Otherwise CCRP mode is displayed ith its pipper. Sent from my MI PAD 2 using Tapatalk
