I believe this is the case, too. While ED was among the first to hook up VR back some time ago, I'm of the opinion that much work needs to be done "under the hood" to really pull the VR load like it needs to pull it. As it stands, there's no PC available to run DCS in VR on maximum at a locked 90fps... My guess is that a 2080ti with 8700k cpu is the best answer to getting as many frames as possible in VR.

So I preordered mine from Newegg: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874719022 I am a long term and long time Plantronics headset guy myself, and my Gamecom 300's have been going strong for some time. They're good quality for not much moolah. I recently learned of these new cans from Jabbers when he visited the TM exhibit earlier this year. http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/products/tflight-us-air-force-edition Egg tells me that they will be shipped on 19 October, and I will post more on them when I get them. I like the look of these since they resemble David Clark headsets. If the TM ones even come close to DK headsets, I will be happy...hell, even if they're as good as my Gamecoms I'll be happy :) NB: TM has not given me a set. I paid for these with my hard earned cash. I rarely spend money on stuff like this, so we'll see if they are worth the money and have a better value over the ones I use now.

Tx! Pitch BLACK! :thumbup::thumbup: -
Looks like a lot of nope with a side order of no...but ED does state this "Currently flat mode is incompatible with VR devices." https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/ns430/ I bought it on sale and used some bonus monies, so maybe one day they will get it going in VR.

I want to know this too...I bought it but have not used it yet :)

Is this still the fix? -
Edit: I see it's posted...

The 5K is the one I am considering. My Christmas Pressy list is growing :) Though I think a 2080ti is what will be needed to make it work well. The passmark chart will be interesting when the benchmarks for it finally land.

Good observation!  I'd bet at PD1.2 it would run a lot better. It would be a better experience if Pimax would implement something like ASW. Time will tell.

See 2:25:20 As expected, DCS is too much even for the highest end system you can build.

Labels should scale in size from small to larger when targets are far away and get closer. Why this has not ever been the case is a mystery to me.

BoxxMann's Tips - Adjust Seat/Eyepoint with VR

Right-Alt + Keypad 0 saves your current head position. -
I have both the DK2 and CV1 running. The DK2 is on our "test rig" at DSD and my CV1 is at home. I really like the DK2 since it runs at a lower frame rate, 75FPS compared to 90 for the CV1, and there are no god rays, which I hate. The SDE is worse, of course, on the DK2. If you can get a DK2 for cheap, and I'm talking less than 100 bucks US, it would be worth it to get going. It uses the Oculus Home software just like the CV1, so it's not difficult to use (anyone remember the 0400 drivers? yowie!). For the "basic VR experience", it's worth it. Understand that the CV1 is a lot better in the fact that the touch controllers open up a new world of gaming. For example, I like Hotdog, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades since it is a pro shooting simulator. There are other standing games using the touch which are also a blast. If you're doing only sitting games like DCS, iRacing, Elite Dangerous, and want to get going in VR - AND can get a very good deal on a DK2, then it is worth it. My 2c.

Is it plausible to save default head position?

CH and only CH for me. I've been using their sticks since 1991. All that flashy stuff is cool, but CH just works and never stops. If you're in the US you can buy their products on Digikey: https://www.digikey.com/products/en/computers-office-components-accessories/desktop-joysticks-simulation-products/899?k=ch%20products They do 10 buck flat rate UPS ground per order, too.

I think this one is the One...no pun intended...if you have the HP for it.

New VR player, trying DCS and need help with settings?
DerekSpeare replied to Mukai92's topic in Virtual Reality
See my signature for some more VR tips. I've found turning everything to the min and working up from there is a good way to get your settings dialed in. -
I'd be happy with just a clickable cockpit in the F15C...impossible to fly in VR without it.

Some may remember Microprose's Strike Eagle III. That game had front/back multiplay. It would be cool to see again! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-15_Strike_Eagle_III Since I'm new to developments in this thread, I'm not sure if FBMP is already planned. Is there actually going to be an F15E in our lifetimes?

Does this work with the latest 2.5 Open Beta?

I have the VR Cover and got it b/c the stock facial interface caused me pain as well. I use the standard VR cover with the cloth, but the make a thicker FI for those who have glasses. Perhaps that could help you?

Thanks for that answerlecturexplanation  Here's a screen from the module at issue. I'm not reading the VR incompatibility statement. However, after more investigation, if one clicks on the product link, there is more information there, which does state VR is a no go. Odd they wouldn't put that in the main description, though...

Can anyone tell me if the NS430 Navigation popup works in VR? The video I watched about says no, but the product description page is unclear in that it describes generic VR system requirements and does not state it does not work in VR.
