I am having a similar issue, except DCS.exe will literally pop up for a second in my processes then disappear. This is after the update, which took 4 tries total to succeed. Will not start at all.

[RESOLVED]Can´t update to 1.5.1. Repair failure too
Belgeode replied to Flanči's topic in Installation Problems
I followed your link and it looks like this puppy is finally updating after two tries. It was saying something about my anti-virus, which is NOT on at all. Edit, well it said it successfully updated but now it will not launch the game at all! Updater flashes on and off screen once then nothing. -
Took a MiG-29S for a test flight around Min Vody. Upon landing I noticed that the drag chute exterior texture is missing. The inside of the chute is there, but not the outer shell.

I had the exact same issue as Doghouse. This was with the F-15 (my F-15) on a track I saved a couple days earlier. It did not track the taxi to runway properly and had me takeoff onto the snow and crash.

Oil platform fence missing and other errors
Belgeode replied to BudgietheLittleHelicopter's topic in Object Bugs
That's been there since DCS 1.0. It appears to be a transparent texture issue. -
Cool beans. thanks.

Wait... what? By the way, Destroyer37, nice avatar there. I like it.

I can concur. Marked increase in FPS for me and the engine runs smooth as silk! Bravo, ED!

Posting this here as I have yet to install my purchased modules to check if this is happening there too. Just for fun I ejected from my landed Frogfoot and noticed the interior of the parachute model is untextured. I forgot to get a screenshot but I am posting a video now on youtube of my first look which will contain said graphical anomaly. I will edit this post with the link later. Edit: Youtube link below. Parachute issue is at the end of the video.

I am really glad you made them. I have been having a lot of fun with them, and folks really seem to like it. Thank you!

Sounds like a good deal Trailer! So far the first campaign is getting a really good response on youtube. I'll have mission 7 up next week wednesday! Part 6 was pretty intense!

PRE-PURCHASE DCS: L-39 ALBATROS Discussion Thread
Belgeode replied to terence44's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Pre-purchase... check. September started... check Hype filled countdown to first L-39 flight... check. -
Sweet! Thanks so much for posting this. I have been flying the L-39 for the last few months in FSX steam edition, but I could always use checklists like this to keep me on track. I am sure it will be somewhat different in DCS.
-
It's only spooky if you are NOT flying a VF-142 jet (Ghost Riders)...
-
I read that as well. The radar they had was tailor made for the Phoenix anyway.
-
I have not managed to down an Apache yet, but I did down several Huey Cobras on one mission. I stayed low to the ground with radar off (I was in an Su-33), and at about 5km out turned on my heatseeking mode. I did not launch till I was about 1 km out and ready to overfly them. I should also mention I was coming at them from about their 6-7 o' clock. I got the surprise hit on the first one, but subsequent passes they were ready for me, so I had to do a little fancy flying and send my wingman in, in order to get a chance at them. Luckily for me in the ensuing chaos two of the 4 ship crashed into each other, so I was able to swing around and take care of the last guy.

As far as I know troop pickup is still broken. Unless something was fixed in the last couple months (I have not been in DCS World lately), I believe the only workaround is the CTTS script added to your mission.
-
I'd rather you take the time and get it RIGHT, than rush it out the door. Excellent to hear about the Mig-29, and the PFM for the Su-33. I am also going to get the L-39 once that is available, as I have been flying it A LOT in FSX-SE lately. Keep at it ED. We can wait.

Metal... lots and lots of HEAVY METAL. \m/ That is what the Tomcat means to me.

Welcome Luftwoller. Everyone has some very solid points. One thing i would add too is never underestimate the power of YouTube. A lot of us make some really awesome tutorial videos on many subjects that can help. If the words just seem to be a jumble of letters from time to time, hop over to youtube and put in a search for DCS and whatever your search keyword may be with it. You may just find an easier visual explanation for what you are looking for. I have used this method when i just got DCS last November, and now I return the favor by making videos of my own for others. BTW, off subject. I am going to be 45 this year. There are a LOT of us in the same age group and even older on this site. Age is just a number though, so don't sweat it.

Socket7 hits it out of the park again! Thanks man!!

Adding carrier to mission removed my choice of aircraft?
Belgeode replied to Raven_Morpheus's topic in Mission Editor
Only thing I can think to suggest is to check your aircraft again and make sure they are all set to "Client". Something must have unchecked... maybe. Not sure why adding carriers would cause that though. -
Thanks! I remember the last time I saw one of the Pukin' Dogs pilots, they had made the transition to the Hornet. I asked him how the transition was for him and he got this despondent look on his face and was like "no comment" . LOL All I could say was I am sorry. Bunch of sad faced pups over there in the new VFA-143.

Some of my favorites. My favorite squadron in case you have not figured is VF-143 the Pukin' Dogs. Dog over Kuwait circa Desert Storm. Dog on deck of the America. Cat shot of a dog! and finally the Dogs last flight over Oceana. Part of why I love the Dogs best is because they are the only squadron whose pilots I have met time and again at airshows since I was a teenager. They were always friendly and encouraging to me. (Not to mention they had some of the funniest stories to tell me) They won my loyalty. I will be proud to represent them virtually when we get our Tomkitty to fly!
