  1. Hi Folks, Any information regarding compatibility with DCS for the side panel linked below would be gratefully received. Logitech G Farm Simulator Side Panel Control Deck Thanks in advance. Happy landings, Talisman
  2. I have to agree that Discord is awful and I also refuse to use it due to their business model involving datamining, spyware and security issues. I simply can't sign up to their customer user agreement. Moreover, I find their user interface childish and infantilising. I too wish that this forum thread was used more. Happy landings, Talisman
  3. Many thanks for the documents link. Brilliant! Happy landings, Talisman
  4. Looking good. Many thanks and good luck for release. Happy landings, Talisman
  5. Love the Huey! I have a cheap but very effective collective, as you can see from the pics. I used a piece of bamboo and black tape to modify the Saitek throttle quadrant as a collective. The MS FF2 stick is great and with the JetPad and SimShaker for Aviators software I can literally fly by the seat of my pants. 6. Would especially like to see troops in the back. Hope we get these sort of improvements for the Chinook. Happy landings, Talisman
  7. I am the opposite to this, as I would like to get red of the blue cross much quicker, lol, as I hate the thing. Might be nice to have the option to remove it all together. Happy landings, Talisman
  8. This! That is how it looks to me too Joch. Happy landings, Talisman
  9. Cheers CHPL, Very many thanks to all Black Angels for a most enjoyable time flying with you all this year. I look forward to flying with you again many times in 2024. Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Happy landings, Talisman
  10. Very much agree with this. Happy landings, Talisman
  11. Thanks draconus. Happy landings, Talisman
  12. Hi Folks, Quick question if I may. When I get a notification to say "somebody reacted to post" (heart or thanks) in a DCS forum thread topic, how can I tell who that person is that has reacted to my post? Am I missing something, or am I not supposed to know who that somebody is? Is there a box to tick somewhere or have folks chosen to be anonymous? Am I anonymous too if I react to a post with a heart or a thanks? Thanks. Happy landings, Talisman
  13. At the going down of the sun.....
  14. Sorry for the late reply. The Marianas map grass is very short compared to the longer grass on the Caucasus map, so no problem. Long grass coming up through the floor behind the front seats in the Huey on the Caucasus map has been a long standing issue, which spoils immersion even more now that the grass is moving like crazy too. Happy landings, Talisman
  15. So maybe the solution could be to have a flat screen optimised version of this sim/game and a second VR optimised version of this sim/game. Then all the VR folks can fly together and all the flat screen folks can fly together, with each to their own world and their own needs. Simples. Happy landings, Talisman
  16. I agree with the above regarding "What we had before was the worst spotting system out of any sim on the market." However, I fear DCS are attempting to come up with the worst solution for the worst spotting system out of any sim on the market. I am concerned that the solution being attempted is far from logical, desirable or achievable and will just cause a lot of trouble and strife. In fact, to me, DCS appears to be trying to apply a sticking plaster solution to try and cover a fundamental problem. I would be happy to be proved wrong though, because I would like to keep supporting DCS if I can, so good luck with it anyway. Happy landings, Talisman
  17. You can exhibit all the superior attitude you like towards my post, but it will not change the fact that DCS has created a problem for itself in this instance. Your question was answered by my previous post if you cared to take it on board and I do not intend to get into semantics and a yawn fest of detail when what I have posted is a perfectly reasonably expressed dissatisfaction with the new spotting dot system from my perspective. Bottom line is that I have posted what I have posted and I am not interested in answering your questions. You say that some others are plagued with smudgy black squares, so there would appear to be a "we" around the place somewhere, lol. Our views obviously differ, so time to move on I suggest or folks reading this thread will be getting even more bored.
  18. 1. In the way that it was not the fiasco we have at the moment. 2. Hardly, since what we have at the moment is absolutely dire and provides me with no confidence that a player side spotting dot adjustment is the way to go. In fact I think it is definitely not the way to go. Also, I am not the only one plagued by this smudgy black square nonsense, so it is not the best for some others too. I do not see how the ability you speak of will be reduced. What I see is a new additional ability that will be exploited.
  19. Folks will just exploit visuals using the spotting dot, which is likely to be a far easier and even better exploit.
  20. Bottom line is it was better before they messed with it. If you had to see what I see since this spotting dot fiasco I suggest you would want to give up on DCS too. As I say, the DCS brand is clearly being damaged by this. Happy landings, Talisman
  21. I am in this for MP and the new spotting system has ruined MP for me. I have been informed that this spotting dot is handled by the player side not server side for MP, so we have a very poor situation at the moment IMHO. I felt we were nearer to a level playing field before, but since the new spotting dot it is shockingly bad how things have turned out and it is really the worst thing to happen to DCS in my view. I would not have pre ordered the Phantom if I had known about this spotting dot travesty. To say that I am extremely disappointed is an understatement. These large black smudgy squares that can been seen for miles and miles and then disappear and reappear are truly awful and very off-putting. Also, the black smudgy squares do not allow the aircraft type to be identified at all. Appalling! I thing this issue is doing great damage to the DCS brand. Talisman
  22. Via PM Enigma has replied as follows: "This is handled by the player side not server side." Happy landings, Talisman
  23. Hello Enigma, Quick question. Is the terrible improved (but bugged) spotting dot enabled or disabled server side? I sincerely hope that it can be disabled server side to ensure a level playing field on the Enigma Cold War server. I have turned the improved (but bugged) spotting dot off, as has now been enabled by the latest patch, under the gameplay settings. For many of us the new improved (but bugged) spotting dot is very bad as we get large black squares displayed which stand out for miles and completely ruins immersion, especially in VR. Thanks for your consideration. Happy landings, Talisman
  24. Ok, turned improved spotting dot off, thank goodness! But, is the spotting dot going to be fixed for good in the long term? Reason I ask is that this has implications for MP. Happy landings, Talisman
  25. New spotting is awfully bad! Overcooked is an understatement! How on earth did this even get off the drawing board? Big black squares are unacceptable and it is now very much harder to identify aircraft type at previous distances. Immersion as regards anything like real is completely ruined. Please fix as soon as possible. Happy landings, Talisman (VR Pimax 5K+)
