  1. It’s not that they didn’t bother, it’s all there. They just couldn’t get it working properly so that it would pick the correct one for whatever aircraft you were flying, so they set it to P&D only. Apparently a DCS limitation currently.
  2. No. It was said that the F-18 and F-16 development will feed off each other, development done on one aircraft will transfer across to other aircraft where possible. Which considering the F-16 launched with a TGP, LGBs and shortly after release got a Datalink is proving to be the case.
  3. Tried a DCS repair?
  4. They are texture and effects caches. They get re-generated on the next launch, so loading times on the next launch will be longer. Note I am talking specifically about the folders in your saved games folder called DCS. They should be deleted after each patch.
  5. Yeah getting a good reclined seating position and more importantly getting the rudder pedals at about the same height as your butt makes a big difference.
  6. I don't have this issue. Try a DCS Repair and deleting the FXO and Metashaders2 folder from your saved games folder, perhapse that might help.
  7. :megalol: Love the positive attitude!
  8. I pretty sure thats only related to which eye the JHMCS is visible in, IRL its right eye only, but you can set it to both eyes which is more comfortable in VR.
  9. Why not just bind the control in DCS? Then you don't need to know what key is bound to what. Also it allows you to use the built in DCS button modifiers functionality which gives you many more keybinds. What HOTAS have you got?
  10. I'm really enjoying it, yep its very WIP but its good fun for what it is.. Regarding how responsive the controls are, I have both a FSSB R3 force sensing stick and a standard Warthog. Flying it with the FSSB feels very realistic with stock settings and doesn't feel unresponsive. And my brother who has flown the F-16 a fair amount flew it and found that it felt very convincing. However when you fly with a standard "wobbly" stick like a Warthog it definitely feels weird around the centre of the stick movement. I added some negative curve (opposite way from normal) for the pitch and roll axis and that helped liven things up with the warthog and made it feel a lot better.
  11. Not really. The unresponsiveness in landing gains is because of this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=251163
  12. Read my reply a few posts above, yes you are changing the apparent scale of the whole world, not just the cockpit.
  13. As I mentioned earlier the targetting point issue is a new bug that I reported when it came out. It is only related to the HUD presentation and does not effect where the laser is firing. Yes the steer point gets moved, I've already been over the reason for this, we are currently dealing with a combined steerpoint and SPI, so if you move the TGP to a new location it also moves the steerpoint there. This is the same for all of us. All I do is just use steerpoint 1 as my TGP steerpoint which I move to my other steerpoints using the HSD as reference. Or if I'm making a mission I will add 2 steerpoints over the target zone and use the first one as the TGP point to move around and the second of those steerpoints as a reminder of where the target is. Using the HSD its pretty easy to recenter it back over the target if needed. I know its not ideal, but apart from the above small annoyance I'm really not having any issues with it. Its lasing just fine and as long as I do my part with a good release its hitting stuff with no problem.
  14. Glad you got it working! And yes I did get those PMs, it doesn't save it to the sent folder as default for some reason.
  15. Correct Missile override should not activate ACM. The only mode that activates ACM is Dogfight mode.
  16. Solution? CCRP/TGP/LGB works fine for me, so I want to have a private discussion with Silverholt about what they are doing that is different from me so we can figure out whats causing it. I will post any useful findings.
  17. Silverholt, I've PMed you. I can get you sorted out.
  18. Yes one IPD setting should work for all aircraft, as they are all the same scale in engine. 50mm in one cockpit is 50mm in another. The reason the Oculus IPD setting might not give you the perfect sensation of scale out of the box is because all the Oculus Rift-S IPD adjustment is done in software and the physical lenses are fixed, It matters how your physical IPD interacts with the theoretical ideal IPD for the fixed lenses inside the headset. Also the way your eyes communicate with your brain and help determine the scale of an object is complex and cannot simply be boiled down to an IPD measurement. Its all of these stacking complexities that mean having an adjustable world scale - which is what essentially the DCS IPD setting is - Is required so people can fine tune to get something that feels right. World scale or Engine IPD is found in most serious VR software, all the other sims I play, both flight and racing feature the same thing, under one name or another. Regarding what the DCS IPD does.. It simply moves the two "Cameras" (eyes) in the DCS world that produce your stereoscopic imagery further apart of closer together. Thus altering the apparent scale of the entire DCS world around you, and your resultant perception of depth. But what it doesn't do is effect your the way those "cameras" move around the cockpit. The movement of those cameras is dictated by your headset positional tracking which is independent of IPD. So if you move your head 40mm to the left it will always move 40mm in DCS, regardless of the IPD setting. This can lead to some weird sensations where the parallax effect is correct (the amount of movement of the panel from head movement is correct) but the IPD is wrong, this is a situation thats very confusing for the brain, as it uses both parallax and stereopsis to figure out how big and far away an object is. With the variability in HMD lenses, peoples eyes, and the way their brains work you can see the need for an adjustment to fine tune things.
  19. Yes. But Hopefully most mission designers know this and add 1 point that you can move around as you wish as a SPI/SP And obviously this is a temporary situation until the SPI implementation is finished.
  20. Great to hear! That IPD setting (really it should be called "World Scale") is completely individual to you, it depends on your real IPD, and the VR goggles you are using and how they are set up. So what works for you might not produce the same results for other ppl. I'm glad you've found something that works good for you though! I run a DCS IPD setting of 58mm, my real IPD is 62.5mm and I fly with a Rift-S. Everything looks about right, and you're right, readability is a lot better.
  21. It is scaled correctly, its just that F-16 cockpit is tiny. I have sat in an F-16 multiple times, those MFD screens are only 4x4 inch. It should feel like you're wearing it and your shoulders are almost brushing the canopy rails. The Hornet and A-10C screens are 5x5 inch for reference, and should feel palatial in comparison. I think the 3D model of the stick is perhaps a touch small, which throws everything else off when you use that as your reference.
  22. Providing your INS is aligned properly it sounds like you're suffering from this bug. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=269191 Note that it shouldn't effect where the TGP lases but only should effect the Target location indicator in the HUD. Depending on QNH, it will either appear above or below where it should be, making it look Long or Short. Still even with the erroneous idiciation in the HUD I can lase targets and hit exactly where my laser is locked with no issues.
  23. Yeah have a fiddle with the IPD settings in the DCS Vr options till it feels about right. Bear in mind that the F-16 cockpit IS pretty damn small IRL. It feels like you could have a party in the F-18 by comparison and host a TED talk in the A10C.
  24. Do you stare at every control in the cockpit while you're using it? Maybe you do. But in the real flying i do, I don't, I know where the trim wheel is and I can't remember the last time I looked at it while actuating it apart from setting and confirming takeoff trim. I reach out to where I know it is and i make the adjustments while continuing to look outside the aircraft.
  25. Great info Bignewy! When can I expect the complimentary DCS F-16 Trim panel to arrive in the post so I can use that to trim precisely? I presume it bolts nicely to the back of a Warthog Throttle? I joke... but hopefully you see my point. I'm all for pursuing realism but there has to be concessions made for the hardware we all have, Sure the real trim on the stick might be super sensitive but the pilot can just reach down to the trim rollers without looking at them and get it absolutely perfect. 99% of the people flying the DCS sim don't have that ability. Yes we can look down to the trim wheel and roll it with the mouse but is just as tricky as trying to do it with the stick, as you have to look away from where you're actually flying, and can't do it by 'feel'. We have auto-rudder and takeoff assist for warbirds, we also have the Maverick Realistic Slew option in the F-18, so how about a Special Options tickbox for the F-16 which says "Precise Roll Trim" which ads a slow speed trim period initially so small dabs of stick trim do small changes and it allows people to actually trim the thing out. People who want absolute realism can keep it off. Just my 2 cents.
