fixed AIM9X/120C fires when CCIP pickling GBU/CBU
Deano87 replied to apd102's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
No. It’s not. The pickle button fires both the missiles and the releases air-ground stores, and obviously it should only be doing one at a time and not both at once. I had this happen recently. And I had not started the jet in either dogfight or msl override, so there goes my theory. -
[ALREADY REPORTED]Excessive Lateral Tire Grip - Taming the Viper
Deano87 replied to Deano87's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks. It’s a shame my mod no longer works. Back to bouncing sideways across the runway like some kind of demented jet powered pogo stick then lol. -
You’re right as per usual. But what would you suggest as a sensible deterrent to stop people over stressing the stores? As can be seen from the whole “F-18 G-Limiter override” paddle people will use whatever capability the aircraft has regardless of its realism or real world consequences, and unfortunately there is currently no consequences to pulling 9G on a 5.5G limited config. I’d personally like to see the appropriately affected stores become hung and un-droppable if you grossly over stress them, say 6.5G on a 5.5G limited config for instance. There needs to be some immediate risk involved in order for people to pay attention to what G they are pulling as they’d have to in real life. In the M2000 you also rip stores clean off the aircraft if you flick it into AA config and pull as hard as you can.

Chaff Flare works fine if you go into the countermeasures page in the DED and turn the audio feedback (FDBK) off and back on again. Thats List and then 7 for the CMDS page. You're right about LOCK though..

[ALREADY REPORTED]Excessive Lateral Tire Grip - Taming the Viper

Yeah I can't get it to work. Even tried rebuilding the file structure in the saved games folder and putting it in there, but that also doesn't work :( -
[CHECKING] F-16C Cockpit Lighting and Shadow Bug
Deano87 replied to RogueSpecterGaming's topic in Bugs and Problems
As always after an update, delete the fxo and metashaders2 folder from your DCS Saved Games folder. Then try again. -
The real aircraft has no G limiting system like the F-18, so it’s perfectly possible to over stress the weapons any any time. Putting the jet into CAT-III minimises you chances of doing this by limiting pitch rate and AoA but it is still possible to pull past the G limit for the current payload. Ultimately your G limiter is your right hand. What is currently not featured (but I hope gets added down the line) is stores damage from over G. So currently you can pull 9G on a heavily loaded jet with no negative consequences, hopefully that’ll change in the future and you’ll end up damaging weapons or pylons and resulting in hung stores or even ripping bombs off the jet (realistic? Dunno).

Weaklink, I don't know about that. But you could try Voice Attack. It's essentially a voice recognition software that will do whatever keystroke you tell it to when you say it. Even with the free version you can do all the "F" keys and easily control the radio by simply saying "F1..... F5..... F2" you can also control your views with the same profile. I have it set on a spare mic transmit switch so its only "listening" while i'm pressing the button. I really enjoy coming up behind the tanker and simply saying "Ready Pre-Contact" and it does the radio menu for me rather then having to take the hand off the stick and futz with the mouse. Anyway give it a try! https://voiceattack.com/

One notch below the F-15... Seems reasonable to me for a much smaller aircraft.

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
Deano87 replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey guys, Sorry I've been a bit AWOL around here, real life has been a bit hectic. But as Miles has already said I've been testing the Auxiliary buttons that plug into the HMS and sit on your VR headset. attached below are some pics of mine. As you can see I haven't really done any cable management yet but I've yet to have any issues with this setup as is. We are currently working out the final bugs in the new firmware to work with these buttons, they will show up as an extra Joystick as far as DCS or any other sim is concerned and are bindable just as you would bind a joystick button. They can also be used with modifiers should you want extra buttons. They use the same button pads as the FCUs so have a really nice tactile click and I find them to be really useful. Currently I have my left bank of buttons bound to NVG Gain Up, NVG Toggle, NVG Gain Down. This allows me to toggle my NVGs and adjust their brightness while keeping my right hand on the stick, which I find extremely useful, and I also like the extra realism of reaching up to my head to do it instead of clicking a HOTAS button. My right hand bank is set to less commonly used keys like Toggle Briefing, ESC Menu, and Flashlight. If you have any questions then let me know! Also, I'm sure somebody will ask: I haven't had any tracking issues with the Rift-S while using my hands to actuate the Aux buttons, even though the position of my hands do somewhat block the side cameras, it has yet to be an issue. Great Job Miles!:D- 3421 replies

Playing with your shadow settings can effect where these transitions are. But of course you can get reduced performance if you set it higher.

HOTAS Cougar - Antenna elevation knob bug

No problem! Glad you’re back up and running again!:D:joystick: -
In order to increase performance shadow detail is reduced as it gets further from the camera. That effect you see is the boarder between high detail shadows close to you and lower detail shadows in the distance. There are more than one of these steps. Including ones inside the cockpit sometimes.

HOTAS Cougar - Antenna elevation knob bug
Deano87 replied to HerrKitz's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
When you say neither of your radar cursor axis show up in game, how are you looking for them? when assigning an axis there is a drop down box which allows you to selectively select an axis Above is a pretty old picture but you can see that you can chose axis from that dropdown box, so you might be able to see the axis you're looking for in that list, even if the sim wont pick it up normally when you try and bind it. -
There is literally a sticky post about this at the top of the main forum page. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=241132

Yes you need to enter or confirm the coordinates within the first 2 mins of a normal alignment. If you're entering new coordinates you naturally hit ENTR to confirm each line after you've typed them in. If not you just check and confirm each line with ENTR. From my understanding this is correct. NOTE: this only happens in NORM align, Stored heading align does not require this step.

Haven’t seen this including when flying at a friends with the TWCS, going to suggest wiping all your axis control bindings for the viper and then starting again. Sounds like a conflict or a double bind somewhere.

Lol. After all that ranting you still post no track or video? I don’t think any of us has said the bug doesn’t exist. Just that we can’t replicate it on our end and that we’d like to see a track or a video showing it more clearly so it can be investigated. Yet you seem to take every post as a personal attack and reply accordingly. I think it may be you who needs to look in the mirror. Your attitude stinks tbh. I find it very interesting how you talk about professionalism while also posting things like “ People are paying £££ for this bullshit.” Extremely professional of you lol. I’d like to point out that all of us here in this thread have attempted to remain courteous and polite and help you get to the bottom of the problem so that it can get fixed. All of us here want to see this sim improved and bugs squashed. We are not your enemy.

Next F-16 Update ED to look at.
Deano87 replied to STNGersk's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
If you’re going to state something is wrong then please first research to make sure you are correct. The first thing you see on the inlet of the GE F110 are variable angle inlet guide vanes which prepare and shape the air to hit the first stage of compressor blades at a better angle. These do not spin. I like you attention to detail regarding other things but I wouldn’t necessarily expect them to be fixed until the rest of the main aircraft features are complete. -
Are you landing at a designated friendly airbase, not just a neutral one? Are your radios tuned to the correct frequency or have you tried opening the canopy?
-
Glad you got it sorted out capt_bob!

Depending on the bomb fall time and release altitude/range you can even turn left until the target is at your 3 o'clock and then begin a gentle right turn to keep it at 3 o'clock and stop it falling back into masking area.
