Highly limited scope and certainly not the cup of tea for many of us. His opinion stands 100%.

NTTR and Persicus not available in ME after the last update...
Czar replied to JagHond's topic in Installation Problems
Looks like it's user end. Is Persicus the Persian Gulf map? I currently have the Persian Gulf installed and it is all fine. Have a go on repairing your dcs installation. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030. I haven't installed NTTR yet on my machine after my previous DCS reinstallation so I can't comment on that. -
I didn't think it was something for a bug report but interesting just enough to post it here. Beware on those 2x magnum even with a generous interval. PS: gfycat link. I don't know how to wrap it in this forum. https://giant.gfycat.com/JointAlarmingHochstettersfrog.webm

DCS: F/A-18C Screenshots and Videos (NO DISCUSSION)

:smilewink: -
Any official word on this subject? The phenomenon is also present in the F/A-18C module and the Mirage 2000. The "bumps" are present over whole G values as -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3 and so on. Affects either positive and negative Gs exactly as described by OP. Switching off camera movement by G forces in the cockpit is not a solution as the issue seems to be on the flight dynamics itself and you can feel it with whatever setting you are on. I got paranoid it was something to do with my joystick a few weeks ago, but it turned out it was this bizarre issue.

It sounds like you're in the correct path but not with enough flight time on the bird. Give yourself more time to get used to it. It is a "interesting" plane to fly in terms of controls but it is not a hard bird to tame overall. I'd bet 80% of your problems are due to that. Use the curves.

DCS like all other true sims, is 1:1 to reality. 400kts is 400kts, 130kts is 130kts. 1 fight hour is 1 flight hour. 1 flight second is 1 flight second. Increasing the field of view does not accelerate the simulation nor your plane, neither interferes with joysticks inputs and outputs.

Setting realistic expectations for the Hornet
Czar replied to neofightr's topic in Military and Aviation
Well written. In other hand some of us wouldn't trade a thing from the bird performance like you described and it's very well documented. It's limitations and features combo is what actually draws me into it. For my taste it's the perfect bird for a simulator MP&SP. I wouldn't even change it from a C to other variant. Good idea to post this. It's true a lot of people tend to blend the most iconic jets in the same category very often. Someone's taste might be more fit into a MiG 29 or the F-15 and unaware that the F/A-18C is a completely different kind of a deal. -
Good stuff! Thank you.

I've never liked any gyro either. Good old school lead shooting.

Same here. Version: 2.1.1.6837

@Alwandy *shivers* edit: that's not really the finest look out there on realistic canopy. If something like this is implemented, may as well one glue his face to the radar screen and be instrument dependent. DCS: IFR lol Something like gpu dependent water dynamic water drops on the glass would be ED way to go in the future with the current methods of processing and post processing they are currently pushing out. Battlefield 3 is almost a dinosaur when it comes to texture/post processing relationship if you think about it.

"Market profit is Terrain but not Jets" Any empirical data to back that up? I'd say DCS has too few jet aircraft going for and it's growth on aircraft work is only giving breaths of fresh air, not the contrary. NTTR + Caucasus and not even bothered about spending a week on a 10year old map that is Caucasus with a new AC. Every new map released it's a bonus and not a ticket out of boredom land.

What's the preload setting you are using? I have a 1060 GTX 6gb Vram and preload radius makes a huge impact on VRAM usage. I don't have Normandy yet. How would you compare the map performance VS NTTR (which I have)? Depending on the results, I might jump for the Viggen instead of buying Normandy right away. These amounts of Vram usage now worries me a lot. Saturating 6gb is insane for that kind of map.

Not even close to that completion ratio. They are totally different in avionics. High probability of even having to make the whole 3D from scratch let alone the systems.

I would add to it that you were also firing at too low airspeed. On your 2nd attempt you were successful mainly because you were faster than the first attempt. A rule that I have is always fire SAR missiles with afterburner on and faster than 700km/h. If I miss, is by my pure inability to give my missile a decent fire solution. lol These old missiles shouldn't get too slow in the air or they will self destruct. Or they can collide in midair as allegedly is what happened if you fire two simultaneously. Step 1 on the mig 21: Be a missile yourself. Step 2: Fire your missile. R-60Ms are another story.

That's no dead pixel
Czar replied to Eihort's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
Thank you Ciribob for the response! Better solution than having to cycle the overlay every time. -
The last engine had some nice smoke effects we sadly lost before the edge conversion due to incompatibilities etc... example was the dark grey smoke from damaged/destroyed aircraft. youtube video > /watch?v=cVeSDWy6WHU&t=117s The replacement is the current overly fluffy black smoke which doesn't gives much the sense on speed from the debris or the smoking aircraft. I take that a lot of current particle assets are placeholders for some much more impressive effects to come. These effects examples through the link from the russian forum are phenomenal. :noexpression: I hope ED finds the talent to get something like this aesthetics in DCS.

Cycle 3x the ingame overlay with Ctrl+Shift+Escape to get rid of the dead pixel bug. Apparently you need to perform it every DCS launch.

That's no dead pixel
Czar replied to Eihort's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
For a work around without deleting anything of SRS and still be able to use it, cycle the overlay with Ctrl+Shift+Escape until you get rid of the dot. (can be made on the main menu) It only connects with dcs through scripts files under a folded dedicated for it in DCS root directory that you can delete any time you want. No data is modified. Is actually the cleanest way an addon can interact with a video game/simulator... In case someone is wondering, it's the overlay scripts making the "dead pixel bug". If you delete both overlay scripts files the dot disapear but you are left without radio tune and volume control between the 3d cockpit and SRS. -
True. F-5 navigation is not much different than flying a b737-200 without the fancy gps, of which I spent hundreds of hours in x-plane. It's almost half of the fun.
