Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon

Nice work  Doing daily neck warmups and stretches :pilotfly: -
That vacuum cleaner sound you hear is pretty much just the ECS (Environment Control System, think Air Conditioning but a bit more advanced). Like others said, if you turn down the defog handle below the right wall it'll reduce some of that noise. You can also check "Loud Cockpit Afterburner Sound" in the sound option to give the point where you're hitting the burners a lot more oomph.

First of all, boeing doesnt have anything to do with the EF. Tranche 4 isnt going to have tvc as standard, there isnt even any real info out there on what exactly a Tranche 4 will have. Airbus is the primary german contractor (and spanish). I don't think anyone really thinks tvc are worth it for the EF, they also add weight and its already a very maneuverable airplane.

There will be plenty things causing trouble for Typhoons in close combat, namely the pilots. I really dont think you should interpret much of an early work in progress flight model from a single comment about how its a great aircraft in BFM.
-
Wow! Only 50%! So that means that those realistic simulators and the real F16 have a T/W of over 2:1, incredible!

Like I already said in the post under Official Updates. Please keep in mind that this is most certainly going to be like the hornet where community feedback and this poll is only going to be a factor in deciding where to go and not the direct priority list.
-
Just as with the hornet they're not going to use this as the priority list and only have it as a factor in what to develop first. Most people have a google account, because most people will either have one with gmail or youtube and therefor be already logged in automatically if they already do for other google services.
-
Yeah im not saying something along those lines happened, but it helps prevent it. Were you really able to look at the hornet results after voting immediately? I somehow seem to recall we had to wait on it too, wouldnt be the first time my memory played tricks on me though.
-
I Imagine its going to be the same as with the hornet that when the poll finishes they will publish the results. IIRC you werent able to see the results immediately after voting either with the hornet. This is actually a good idea since it keeps a few pesky people from looking at whether the thing they want is doing well and then creating spam accounts to boost it up.

I'm not sure if SAM mode will be able to launch on multiple contacts, for now just do it with TWS as explained here by wags: Didn't mean the goalposts, Azimuth and Elevation Carets as per the manual is the name, the little blue guys showing the radar sweeping.
-
SAM mode is exactly for what it says, situational awareness. It'll still scan for radar hits in the narrow AZ instead of only displaying the targeted aircraft as it would in STT. If you want to target multiple aircraft you need to use TWS. To explain this a bit further: STT focuses the radar energy solely on the target, with SAM mode it will focus the energy shortly on the target then do a sweep and focus back on the target and then repeat that, you can observe this with the radar position indicators (the blue bars, whats the actual term for these?). STT and SAM are modes within RWS. TWS is an entirely different radar mode, as the name says it builds target tracks where it does predictive math based on the last known position, velocity and heading, but keep in mind that it will only get new updated and accurate information when the radar actually sweeps over the contact again and gets a return.

A bit of reading on the IRIS-T https://web.archive.org/web/20130612054850/http://www.diehl.com/fileadmin/diehl-defence/user_upload/flyer/IRIS-T_e_Eurofighter.pdf -

Look at that sweet little 60g monster! -
Do they show up in instant action missions, campaigns or regular missions?
-
Personally I haven't seen a large performance increase but that came already with a previous patch (for the 2.5.6 branch) I of course wouldn't mind more but I only have a 1060 6gb. So far though the patch seems pretty solid. Havent encountered anything myself yet. Edit: And oh yeah, the supercarrier fps still sucks as long as you have shadows enabled.
-
You guys really shouldnt jump to conclusions this quickly. From the comments of that video
-
Alright, thanks!
-
Any F35 going to an airshow will have radar reflectors attached so that it cant just be measured by someone on the flight path. F35 also isnt the only plane who does this.

Sexaaaay! Really can't wait for this baby. -
MiG21 is looking awesome with the new update, well done! English textures work again as well.
-
One of the pilots decided to go for a VERY low and slow flyby before landing.
-
Aerobraking is used on landing, here is an example of a Eurofighter (1:45min). It helps with slowing down by using your wings as a big airbrake and not using the brakes too much, which makes the ground crew happy. Couldnt find one of a mig21 quickly, sorry.
-
Thats only with the english cockpit, russian works fine A new issue is that the ADI doesnt work in pitch
-
I imagine its support for VR hand controllers such as the Oculus Rift Touch.
-
The DB605 that powers the 109 is supercharged and it is very loud in real life as well.
