  1. Was only thinking at the weekend that we could do with an updated roadmap… Beyond the Apache (which I’m not overly bothered about) I have very little idea what’s incoming I guess we have a WW2 version of Marianas (???) and hopefully some ED assets to flesh out - eg Hellcat ?? No idea what ED will pull out next for jets Third party stuff is much anticipated - South Atlantic, Corsair, Mirage… probably my most anticipated upcoming modules, but who knows when MB-339 looks nice as well
  2. Or one of these…
  3. The problem with that vid is the small scale… Pause it for early Nov 42 and you’ll see that the western coastal area had been occupied, as well as Krasnodar and Maikop inland. At the furthest German push eastwards, the forward elements failed to reach Grozny, having run into heavy resistance along the Terek river around Malgobek and Mozdok Timescale covers the 4 years from May 41 to May 45. The former soldier I met fought on the eastern front for 6 years
  4. I know there are carrier warbird mods that use the P-51… But it would be fantastic (and relatively doable..?) for a DCS Seafire or community mod of the Mk.IX… There are various Seafire skins for the IX, but it does need a hook
  5. IIRC, from reading… the Argentinian Mirages started the conflict with long range external tanks. BUT, at the first sign of contact with the FAA SHARs, they ditched the tanks to evade - normal combat tactics, but in no time at all, no LR tanks left…
  6. Err, really…???!!! …how do you reckon that??? We don’t currently have any UK assets suitable for this map Which is a massive own goal from Raz As a minimum this should come alongside a Sea Harrier FRS.1 Nobody would expect that for free, but we need the SHAR at the same / similar time as the map
  7. A few more images on LN’s FB page… … unfortunately they don’t give much away
  8. HMS Argonaut… … IIRC, my father helped put her back together after the Falklands
  9. I once met a man who fought there… I don’t know for sure, but looking at the unit history the areas around Nalchik - Mayskiy - Mozdok - Beslan would have been about the front line / FEBA at the time for that particular unit … so very much on our map
  10. Yep… Norway - Russia DID’s EF2000 Scandinavia map might have been grey and murky, but it was a fantastic Cold War setting Below radar fjord runs for deep strike, CAP, CAS, SEAD, AWACS strikes etc… Also great for carrier, Naval / ASW and amphibious warfare. Provided the map comes far enough south (Shetland, say) the Mossie shipping strikes and other WW2 scenarios come into play A Scandi map to modern standards would be brilliant.
  11. “Legendary” is a pretty high hurdle…!!! (and I also don’t think the aircraft listed in the OP meet that…!) Anyway, qualification for LEGENDARY has to include either or both of: - Combat Record - High public perception / awareness… Based on those, and from being a Brit, I’d suggest the following: F-4 Phantom - many guises F-14 - Top Gun glamour factor, already in game F-16 - early / NATO export models F-15C - especially based on combat record Sea Harrier - joint top A2A kill ratio Mig-21 - epitome of the Soviet era threat Mig-25 - again, legendary in terms of speed, altitude and being the opfor top dog B-52 - recognisable everywhere Tornado - low level par excellence F-104 F-111 Mirage family - many, many conflicts and operators Hawk - Red Arrows, nuff said ETA - and that’s without British / European legends such as the Hunter, Lightning, Buccaneer, Jaguar, Lynx etc
  12. Another fantastic tease… very much looking forward to this - hope it won’t be too long a wait…!
  13. We will need a Lynx if Raz ever get the S Atlantic map and assets pack out…

    Hurricane

    Would like to see a 109 F in DCS…
  15. Hunter is also a very pretty bird and sounds amazing… Used to see this one over the house when she was flying out of St Athan Miss Demeanour Buccaneers also made a big impression at 1977 Red Flag exercises IIRC Here we go
  16. For someone who has been flying warbirds for most of 2021… … I’m strangely looking forward to the Mirage
  17. Mossie is easy to taxi steer using the joystick pinky… I use full rudder deflection in the appropriate direction and “modulate” the brake steering with a variety of a quick dab, dabs or longer button press on the pinky trigger - works a treat (pinky mapped to W)
  18. Interesting….
  19. Yep, much requested around these parts… Was actually a Royal Navy adaptation of an anti tank gun Getting the Molins gun in game would also allow a Dog Boat as well
  20. Doesn’t have to be limited to assets for the ME… Lets see the WW2 fields fitted with era appropriate night lights / beacons Mossie brings DCS to the dark side so let’s have some lights for night ops
  21. I find it fascinating, and of course ironic, that it's the Iranians that have most used the cat for true Top Gun combat - close to the merge, guns and IR missiles. Seems like they truly did use the Tomcat’s ACM capabilities
  22. Has to be a carrier version…
  23. See eighth post above…
  24. Skill, Training… Balls According to Hansard, the FAA lost 220 aircraft between 1962 and 1971 Hazy on the details, but I think my aunt was dating a pilot who was killed in a cat accident, and fairly sure the father of one of my classmates suffered a similar fate
  25. I guess you’re all aware of this, then… Somewhere to call “home”
