Hoping to get into the 633 groove - I see fjords, enemy coast ahead… to mix filmic metaphors This map is a MUST for wavetop Mossies and top of fjord power stations / heavy water plants / targets of your choice However, it’s a long hop across the South Atlantic and I wondered how far our FB.VI would fly fully bombed up???

no need - on this occasion, I know full well why my engines packed up the only mystery is how the port engine kept on turning for so long
-
Brilliant stuff - cannot wait Lovely looking Leander - Achilles??? But seriously, at 1:18 - what’s with the septic tank??? That really needs to be RN, ok??? and the Merlin sound on the intro??? Has Razbam watched this… they really ought to as those fjords are desperately needed, right now
-
Lost both engines on the way home to Manston earlier this as evening… Starboard engine packed up over the French coast, but with a decent amount of speed and altitude I figured I could easily get home Port engine gave up a few miles off Ramagate… feathered and attempted to glide in, but ran out of altitude about paddling distance off the Ramsgate harbour wall Can’t complain though - had been properly peppered by flak at a V1 site… bomb aiming must be improving as the launch ramp was well and truly destroyed As for the V1s themselves, damn those things are quick - four went whizzing past the other way as we were inbound
-
I also get this… most flights (except where engine failure is due to damage…) De-brief normally has “engine ignition timing error” and then “catastrophic engine damage”

What is the connection between rpm and throttle?

Manual prop pitch control on the British a/c -
Already some lovely skins in the user files section

Closing the rads, perfect trim etc can get you 340 S&L. coming in at 1000’ and 340, with a very gentle ease down to 300’ can get you 350 S&L, but then slowly drops back to 340 Obviously not going to keep going for long at 3000rpm / +18 and closed rads though…!

Absolutely brilliant, take a bow… The sights, and sounds, of that vid brought tears to my eyes On a more serious note, Razbam absolutely must get that South Atlantic map onto our hard drives… We NEED those fjords…!!!
-
Level flight, low altitude etc… I can maintain 320, max revs and boost, aircraft trimmed, no ammo / stores and 25% fuel load. “Tree top” height

Is it possible to trim this aircraft to fly hands off

what settings are folks using for cruise? I tend to set revs at 2600 and boost 8 -

Cc’ed from the other trim thread… -
I found the Mossie difficult to trim using the “click pit” trim adjusters… The good news though - getting a good trim is dead easy once mapped, in my case to the stick hat switches (well, to two of them) I have rudder trim and elevator trim mapped to one hat switch and aileron trim to another My “process” for trimming after take-off - dial out the T/O rudder trim - trim nose down to dial out the very strong nose up tendency - add some aileron trim to neutralise the left roll tendency She will then fly pretty steady with only occasional and fairly minimal stick inputs

Got hit several times in my last session… Mossie kept losing a wing and I wasn’t throwing the aircraft around…. Turns out I was hit by a 10.5cm gun both times. Not sure of the range, but I was RTB Manston and the gun battery was off Cap Gris Nez - probably 15-20km range OK, so this was a mod (Prinz Eugen), but point remains the same
-
@Hawkeye60 - brilliant models, many thanks The virtual WW2 fleet now includes US, German, French (& Italian???) destroyers… … would be amazing to have some British and Japanese destroyers to round things out…!
-
Same with the air gunners… Combat box would have been fine, P-51D wouldn’t have been a thing
-
Fuel gauges….???! there’s a bunch of stuff on the starboard side panel, but it’s too blurry to read on my setup…. I’ve tried zoomed right in, I’ve tried from the Nav seat, but haven’t yet found a way to read the fuel gauges

DCS: de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI Discussion
rkk01 replied to msalama's topic in DCS: Mosquito FB VI
I have to say that the FB.VI is an absolute beauty… … in every way - looks, sounds, handling, guns are just an absolute stream of destruction… Getting on the tail of an 88 and opening up is like running a chainsaw through it Bombing takes practice, but getting there Can’t wait for the RPs - havoc incoming -
They also open fire at ridiculous ranges - and are accurate… This isn’t just ground units, but boats and air gunners… Flying the Mossie around today I had an S-Boat open up on me at 6,000m and a Ju-88 at 3,000m Whats worse - they both inflicted damage and were set in ME as “average”

Trims easily, surely??? You do need the trims mapped though - the Mossie is a handful if your looking around the pit and trying to fly -
Rather chuffed - flying down the Channel when the starboard Merlin packed up.. Managed to fly back to Manston and land Debriefing indicated erroneous ignition timing - pilot error??
-
Anyone know how to install these correctly?? Copied the Hood and German Naval Squadron folders into Mods\Tech… but the assets aren’t showing in ME
