AI cheating behavior. Taking all the fun out.

I don't see your point but ok. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk -
Hm, I was always trying to keep my hands on the yoke in the air and it was very inconvenient, will give it another shot with your method. I totally agree that even currently going around the cockpit with the touch is very cool, I do it for fun from time to time, but for dcs serious flying it doesn't work efficiently so far. Hopefully someday we will have some cool gloves providing some heptic feedback to your fingers when you operate switches :)
-
In x-plane, how do you find the center of your yoke when using the touch, so you can correctly trim the aircraft ? I can't really find a way to precisely keep my hands so steady that the yoke is not moving and flying correctly seems almost impossible, landings are horrible, good luck keeping this AoA and flareing precisely. From my experience, it works anything but great in x-plane, it is cool to operate the cockpit, but flying is horrible, the hotas feels much better.
-
Yes, in order to load the mission he needs them.
-
Tried this with x-plane 11. Not possible to even fly a cessna reliably without phisical feedback. Fighting will be impossible bot a2a or a2g, helos absolutely no go. Not to say how long you can keep you hand in the air without resting it on something. Let aside you can't operate any of the hotas buttons. Really I don't see how this would be doable in dcs or any other fighting sim. Was trying to use them for startup but keep hitting my hand in the hotas or other stuff around me, we are not there yet.

Well, vaicom will partially solve the coms problem, but this is not the main issue, as with the current level of AI and ATC there is not much point to do any comms with it at all. -

AI/ATC/Weather engine are very very bad. FSX has better weather and ATC and it is 10 years old sim. AI is bad not only as an opponent, but pretty dumb wingmen as well. Could not do proper formations, can not do any tactics, can not do proper landings, OHB, tacturns cannot even fly low without crashing into the ground. It's just BAAD. It has been discussed in countless number of threads but ED doesn't bother fixing it, just empty promises for the future. Who knows, may be one day we will see if not the flight model, at least better wingmen capable of doing some proper basic flying and better way for comms rather than browsing menus F-keys. -
Yeah but the point is, Pimax is also not here yet, even backers have not received anything yet and end of the year is pretty close already. How long we will have to wait until we can actually order a pimax headset and have it shipped is still unknown.
-
Honestly, if I can have it tomorrow/next week at home, I will probably go for it. But to pre-order and wait unspecified amount of time for ship and delivery, when there might be other devices coming, no thanks. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I agree on most of you points. Just a few additional notes. Pimax 4k was a disapointment and it feels like it remained unfinished product, what is the feedback from the pimax 4k owners about the company ? I don't think their 4k experience helps positively for their reputation for both product quality and support. Jabbers didn't test it on DCS and no regular dcs player ever tested it on DCS as far as I know, and even tho you are right that performance is more dcs problem, I care mostly about DCS so if it is not usable for it, it makes no sense to buy it.
-
True, and what was the longest time someone used it ? They say picture is clearer, fov is better tracking feels good. Fair enough. The DCS review was with su-25t quick start mission, what happens when you join in blue flag server with 50 people and hundreds of AI units on the map ? Is it gonna be playable ? How about if you use it for 3-4 hours sessions everyday, how it will behave ? This might show issues which were not tested/mentioned by the youtubers, like heat, tracking reliability etc.. The thing ships with no tracking stations, how much will that cost ? Will it always rely on vive tracking station ? - this is not serious for a product with that price tag and it is very unprofessional. Imagine you buy Iphone 10 but to charge it, you need to use a samsung galaxy charger.. this is the biggest joke of that product. What will be the % of failed products, what will be the support quality ? Remember that this is a company with almost "0" past experience so this is a big question. Why they didn't choose a few backers and give them units for extensive home usage and testing until the product is finished, but instead they just "hired" some youyubers to make a quick 15 minutes test and review ? There are too many unknowns imho. And again, it is my approach to it and I share it, everybody can have his own opinion, some backed, some pre-ordered. Since I have a VR I am no rush so I will wait. May be there is another device behind the corner which will be released soon ? Why to pre-order this when it will not come soon anyway and the pre-order price is already high ? EDIT: How about their version of ASW ? They say it will come some day but will it, how good it will be ? Even with 1080 ti and 8700k I barely can have good frames and visuals with oculus, let aside with pimax 5/8k.

I hope so, but considering the ED focus on new modules, I am not optimistic about it.
-
Exactly my thoughts.

Yes. This artificial limitation is very annoying, cheap coding. It's like the same visibility the same conditions, clock passes the 9:30 mark and boom magically you can lock :)

Yes. Me personally, have more trust in Western companies. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I wouldn't be so sure before really trying it. Oculus rift came with a full set of camera, rift, remote and xbox controller, was tested for 2 years by DK owners on any kind of software. Worked reliably for me for 2 years already for the price of 450 euro. This pimax still looks like a joke to me, shitty website, no tracking station, no controllers, questionable product, tested and shown only on pre-prepared events, on specific software and systems only. God knows how reliable the product will be and how good the support in case of issues will be. The whole story around it looks so unprofessional that I expect a lot of issues and surprises. I really hope I am wrong, as I desperately want a new headset with better FOV and I will buy Pimax it it proves me wrong. But I would not pre-order it with this limited testing/information they have provided so far.
-
Good points! I didn't know 200 FOV is diagonal, wow. I am not buying this until it is proven to be working reliably and as good as marketed. No trust on unknown chinese company without any previous success.

What this has to do with a consumer product aimed to a niche market ? A company develop a product and it put it's price tag based on many things, development time/effort/cost, production cost, marketing cost, profit margin, even future development.... it is complicated task based on a lot of researching and calculations, not just some weird guy sit in the toilet in the morning and decides"hey lets make it 1000 bucks it sounds fair for what it is" . If the product is sold then price is good if not, company failed. If one make $10000 a month, then 1000 for a headset is not a big deal, if one make $800 a month, he probably better sit and study, find a better job/profession or whatever to make more rather than wasting time/money on playing games or complaining how expensive a top notch gpu or newely developed technology costs.
-
It's not only the AP buttons, weapon buttons are close to impossible to see if they lit or not, datalink is the same and almost unusable in hot situation, instead you have a mod, which is not a fix by ED, you can't really see if anything in cockpit is lit or not. Try fly at night, cockpit illumination is not working at all you can't see shit. Anticollision light going trough the cockpit is also very annoying bug and it is there forever. Not to say the 3d model details and textures are not on par with the modules even from 2014 let aside from the new ones but the price is still 50 bucks.
-
Why don't you develop a vr headset and sell it cheaper ? You can't decide what is a good price and what is not. It is the market that decides. If it is sold and the company profits, then the price is right. Don't call people who make enough money so they can afford expensive stuff sheeps. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Brief overview on the campaign from my side: 1. Idea of such training campaign is very good, there must be similar for all modules! - 10/10 for the idea 2. Mission design is good, the scenarios are designed to cover the basics for piloting/navigation and weapon deliver, no complex tactics or doctrines, just basics, very good for any beginner. - 10/10 on the scenarios for the missions. 3. Immersion is not good, no additional VOs or other traffic to create noise and more "live" around you, pretty much sterile environment, most likely the campaign was just rushed with no attention to details. - 4/10 on the immersion 4. Briefings are bad and confusing, simple navigation of 2-3 waypoints are described by just text with no map drawing to make it more clear. Had to open the map and draw them myself to get more clear picture of the RPs and route legs. Due to the confusing format of the briefings, missions look more complex than what they actually are. No pdf are also included, you can download them in the forum however. Absolutely 0 details in the briefings, seems like they had to finish them for a few hours before the release. 2/10 for the mission briefings. 5. No issues so far from technical perspective, missions are working as intended, no issues with triggers not working etc. 10/10 for reliability. Overall I can give around 6/10 because I am a person who really like the attention to details and this campaign was obviously rushed. I do however recommend it 100% to everybody owning the L-39 and anyone new to DCS. Also if you like L-39 and just looking for some content to fly it, for 10 bucks this campaign worth the money. This is just my opinion tho, other people experience might differ.

Yeah, VR zoom just compensating for the shity res and SDE we have. I am looking for a way to overcome the limited fov for checking 6. I noticed that it is just a few degrees which limits you to see behind when you turn as much as possible. If we can set sort of snap views with a bit offset to the left or to the right, so you can press a button snap view a bit to the right, then turn your head all the way right and voalaa. But I don't know if this is currently possible.
-
Thanks! Appreciate, much better now, I can finish it :)

Any MP servers with D2M enabled (M2000) but max. AIM-120B for blue fighters?

Hi, I have tried to join interceptors since I am interested to learn A2A Modern combat and fly with other people. Unfortunately was rejected due to being member of another squadron even tho it is based on warbirds like p-51d and Sabre. I don't see how they interfere each other as it is almost like a different game, also people can easily just change their nickname and bypass this rule but anyway rules are rules. In case TAW changes their mind, I would be happy to try again and fly withing your squadron! Regards, Metzger
