My Thrustmaster F18 Hotas does not work in the F15?
randomTOTEN replied to JON3Z's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Hi Jones! Welcome to the forum! I searched as well, and couldn't find anything which looks like what you found. Would you be willing to share an example of a solution from 2017/18? Your post makes no reference to checking the control bindings for the controls and module (F-18 Hotas? The Warthog with the F/A-18 Grip?), did you check the bindings? DCS has arguably the best control setup of any pc flight simulator I've ever seen. It will take some effort to learn and use (if you've never managed pc controllers before), but it is incredibly powerful. Let us know how it goes! -
When will we get the voices for Petrovich?
randomTOTEN replied to Stratos's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
I think a lot of us are getting along okay without CPG voice. I've even done a couple multicrew sorties in the front seat with no comms. As long as you have a good idea of what the other pilot needs it works fairly well. There's actually at least 1 voice line available since ea release. If you encounter a SAM/MANPAD launch in single player, Petrovich will warn you and tell you to flare (in English). -

I disagree with Hector. I look forward to hearing my authentic Russian speaking companion. I'm sure we'll have an option for CPG voice. -
reported MP: Nosewheel doesn't center for other clients

I'll have to look through mine to see if I captured it when I get the chance. -

I feel like I've seen this behavior since the first ea release of the hind. I.e. this has always been an issue... -
Maybe somebody else can better understand what you're trying to ask. It doesn't make sense to me, but I've never used Comanche Gold (only Maximum Overkill) so I really don't understand what you're looking for.

Question about starting Supercarrier
randomTOTEN replied to ertert's topic in Missions and Campaigns
This is your first post, WELCOME! EDIT: Without another aircraft which would have ready made missions using the Supercarrier (i.e. F/A-18C or F-14A/B) you will probably need to create a small mission yourself to interact with the supercarrier module. There are also several active multiplayer servers running missions using the Supercarrier. You may want to join one of those sessions (basically a mission created by somebody else and hosted online) and use it to check out the carrier. -
When's the last time you were typing in Lat/Long... on the ground... in single player? Exclude preplanned targets in the Hornet.
-
Then you really didn't get the point of what I was asking.
-
I'm going to ask. It's dumb that I'm going to ask this, and I pretty much already know the answer. But I'm going to ask this anyways... Single Player, or Multi Player?

It's so much better with a track, thank you. You need to thank the boom operator not talk trash about him in both of these threads. Here's the poor boom operator, having to chase you all over the sky. You can fib and take grainy screengrabs at the perfect time if you want. But the track tells the truth... You boom operator has the patience of a saint. YOU OWE THEM AN APOLOGY You also need to stop bashing the tanker with your airplane.. that's quite expensive you know? Nice job on your third attempt. Again, 2 tires with a new jet I don't think justifies how much you badmouth the boom operator. Here is my advice. You say: You complicate the task of refueling by trying to do everything at once. Complex tasks are broken into pieces, and those pieces can be practiced individually. Don't try to refuel if you can't fly formation first, and you can't fly formation if you can't get a handle of the throttle in your new jet. Pull up on the side, and take some time to get a handle on formation flying. No director lights to squint at, no boom to watch out for. No radio calls and cockpit lights to pay attention to. Fly the airplane first. Learn the skill of formation before you try taking fuel. You should be able to sit ROCK SOLID off the tip of his wing. If you can't do that... what makes you think you can do it on the underside squinting at lights?

do you not know what a track file is?

and where is your track file?

A search...

I personally would also like to retain the Russian (USSR/CIS/WP) style ATC for those combinations of theater, coalition, and aircraft which justify it. It would be disappointing to loose the unique QFE/Metric/Russian Language system we currently have, and which is unique to DCS.

Roll Input structural failure modeling is incorrect.
randomTOTEN replied to =475FG= Dawger's topic in Bugs and Problems
Fly By Wire they were ripping their wings off when they pulled the paddle (disabled the limiter) too... EDIT: I have a tacview where a Viggen pulled an estimated 11 G on me in a merge. Clearly the limits for that aircraft should be looked at too. Regardless, you guys should not be putting your jets in a position where these become issues. Many users don't know the actual failure points of their modules, because those are set beyond the load limits in the manual. Because they respect those limits, they will spend years flying the F-5, and never snapping the wings once. They don't make it a policy to wreck their jets on every sortie. -

that's exactly why it's happening -

Yeah, that's not how I read it. I quote: "NORMALLY, THE LOAD FACTOR INCREASES DURING A ROLL DEPENDING ON ANGLE-OF-ATTACK, ROLL RATE, ETC." "ROLL ENTRY G LEVELS ARE ESTABLISHED BY DETERMINING THE G LEVEL AT WHICH A MAXIMUM RATE, 360 DEGREE ROLL (AILERON TO THE SPRING STOP) CAN BE INITIATED WITHOUT EXCEEDING THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE LOAD FACTOR. FOR EXAMPLE, AN AIRCRAFT WITH AN EMPTY CENTERLINE FUEL TANK MAY ENTER A MAXIMUM RATE ROLLING MANEUVER WITH 4.8 G ESTABLISHED AND BE ASSURED THAT 6.0 G WILL NOT BE EXCEEDED, PROVIDED NO AFT STICK IS APPLIED DURING THE MANEUVER." "ROLLING MANEUVERS CAN BE INITIATED AT G LEVELS ABOVE THE ESTABLISHED ROLL ENTRY G IF LESS THAN A MAXIMUM RATE ROLL IS PERFORMED; HOWEVER SOME G INCREASE OCCURS DURING THE MANEUVER." No. It reads to me that roll rate adds additional G. And the certification standard is set at 360 degree full deflection aileron rolls. It's kind of a moot point. I just loaded the Caucasus Intercept Quickstart. The jet has about 2600lbs of fuel on board(above the quoted 2200lbs minimum condition) and two sidewinders. Exactly your test conditions. I loaded the jet to 6 G (instrument), then put the aileron to the spring stop. I rolled through more than 360 degrees with this configuration and the jet held together just fine. I suspect this might be a Multiplayer issue then. You guys need to start posting tracks...
