It has been discussed before several times. I have no experience with other fixed wings with this kind of weapons so I can't answer why those persist when the "Mother Ship" is destroyed, but the explanation for the Rb-15F has been that it needs to be modeled as an individual aircraft to not self destuct (as it is now it's a part of the Viggen still after launch), and from what I have understood that is not possible at this time. Again, this is my understanding, I might be wrong. Skickat från min F5121 via Tapatalk

PVI looks completely different depending on mission?
Holton181 replied to Spirit X's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Where is the sun in these pictures? Looks like the PVI is in the shadows in the first and lit by the sun on the second. -
For those on the sideline about buying Normandy...
Holton181 replied to Mr_sukebe's topic in DCS: Normandy 1944
Have you deleted (and to be on the safe side, emptied trach can) the folders fxo and metashaders2 in the saved games/DCS.openbeta resently? Should be done after each update. (if you still have the metashaders folder, without 2, it definitely should be removed since it's not in use anymore) -
An old PFT Lynx (first gen from 2012) with the pots changed to hall sensors. I believe you have done something similar to the curves as I, I might even have gotten the idea from you, don't remember, but we talked about it in a thread a while back. Seems to be implemented in latest OB. Thanks Wntermute for the find.

Yes, the FFB settings do elevate the deadzone issue and migt be part of the problem for Schmidtfire, but I myself do have all FFB settings OFF and the sliders in the Gazelle special options at zero. Still there are a small deadzone present making hovering unnecessarily difficult and breaks the immersion in flight. We are several people noticing it (search for "deadzone" in these forums) not only being FFB related, and I have a feeling, but not sure, that it is mostly those of us having longer hardware cyclics. With my curve tweak the deadzone is much reduced but still noticeable. Would very much like if you the developer could remove it entirely. I personally would then not have any big misgivings against the Gazelle.

Yes, the hard-coded deadzone. The only real issue with this bird. What I have done is to configure custom curves for both X and Y. In the axis settings, tick the custom curves checkbox and a number of sliders, similar to an equalizer, shows up. Tinker with the lower ones (leftmost sliders) and you might mask the deadzone. The only thing I have done is to set the leftmost slider to 1 instead of default 0. This way the Gazelle feels like a real, small and agile chopper not far from the Robinson R44 I fly IRL. Tiny adjustments with my fingertips during hover. It isn't a perfect solution, but much better than default. Your settings might differ due to different hardware, configuration and taste.

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, just a final tip on this subject. To easily see whether or not you engaged the altitude hold, select the ground radar mode and fly less than 300m above uneven ground. The helicopter (and its nose) will start to bob up and down with the terrain.
-
Yes, it's connected to the Ka-50's AP, but then you need to have the altitude hold channel activated. If you have, pres whatever button you have assigned to the collective brake before moving the collective and don't release it untill established a steady altitude/height above ground (depending on what mode you selected, barometric or radar).

Yes I've seen it too, therefore I return from time to time to read new content (how I found your thread due to somebody made a relatively new post). But the Belsimtek forum can not be entered from within forums.eagle.ru, I believe posts there can't even be searched for from here. The only way I believe one can go there is through Google and similar. At the time of Belsimtek's assimilation into ED, the Belsimtek subforum was even locked, no new posts or threads could be made. But at some later time it got possible again. No clue why. (with disclaimer I might be wrong)

Performance charts, economic cruise and maximum range
Holton181 replied to Sajarov's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Gonna help with one word: plané = glidflykt = gliding Somewhat old word I didn't recognize myself as a Swede, but I found the explanation. I guess it's for descending at idle power. -
From the info below your name, it appears you are part of the actual ED team, not just some middle hand forum admin. Good to see you around in these forums, wish more of your colleagues followed your example!

Hi, I have followed the instructions described by Grajo how to have the side gunner on the Mi-8 loaded but without the hardpoints nor gunsight visible. I also tested it on the UH-1H and it works identical to the Mi-8! See here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=269385 Now, for the UH-1H there is a downside: The guns are floating in the air... If possible to edit the textures for the guns to add some kind of attachment to the fuselage, based on real or fictive designs, it would be nice if someone with the knowhow would be so kind...:smilewink:

I take the liberty to repost (more correctly just linking) a thread containing some interesting discoveries regarding hardpoints VS side gunner (and gun sight). Credits to Grajo and Taillhook. Enjoy: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200876 Edit: Just like to add why I did this. Because that thread is posted in the old Belsimtek subforum, officially closed, and hence not possible to find from within forums.eagle.ru.

See this: (post #7, edit: actually #5 for confirmation that it removes gunsight) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200876 Haven't tested it myself though.
