  1. You can try the setting "Synchronize HOTAS at mission start". I typically find this causes more problems though, such as the throttle being all the way forward and the stick being full forward/left at mission start, really annoying for air starts. Easiest way is to just start the mission with your throttles in the normal place then move them back into the cutoff once you hit "fly".
  2. I can usually get the jump on Skilkas. Haven't tried SA-9. I did get a kill on an SA-8 earlier while it was surrounded by a bunch of tanks and BMPs:joystick:
  3. So far my tactic against a group of trucks/troops/BMPs is to come in low 100-200' at full burner and drop a pair of snake eyes ~100' early or so. It's so fast they don't even have time to shoot at you, including manpads, and the bombs usually take out at least most of the troops.
  4. Also noticed this myself, I try to control the bursts so they don't become long enough for this to happen. On another note, is the variable fire rate modeled yet? They both look and sound the same to me.
  5. I figured if OP didn't know that the engines weren't started electrically he might not understand what bleed air means. Compressed air (which it technically is) was a simplification.
  6. The APU starts the engines with compressed air.
  7. You're not using the "3 screen" profile, are you? Mines runs fine.
  8. Servers can limit what you can put on your plane. Have you tried it in single player?
  9. Again, I have no such issues with restarts, throttle does not move back into the cutoff without hitting the button, for me. Perhaps you guys aren't pushing it forward far enough when you start or something?
  10. Yeah I was wondering why that number changed when in STT.
  11. HEAT would be neat :)
  12. It always worked fine like that, the green vehicles on a white background is a lot of contrast.
  13. I actually just read a post from a former Viper pilot on another forum yesterday.
  14. It's the very first version released, calm the hell down. Judge the module after they've taken community feedback and made updates for a few months, if it still has problems, that's totally fair.
  15. Well, the FBW will hold the plane in a climb or a bank just the same when you release the stick, it's not outside the realm of possibility it will hold some negative G too (I've only done this while inverted, it may not hold a negative G while "upright").
  16. Yes, because the FBW will hold the plane in negative G after you pass out, you'll never wake up. I do not know if this is intended behavior, but that's what is happening.
  17. Agreed, seeing little electric passenger trains running where diesel freight trains should be running is a bit odd.
  18. That's the water line, the virtual point where the nose is pointing. There's one switch that turns it on. It looks like OP has two water lines, if you click the HUD power switch twice it goes into a test mode, this may be the problem.
  19. Yes, above 20k it's crazy right now, you can put it totally vertical in burner and it will accelerate well past mach 1 to well over 70k.
  20. I just started and stopped it several times with no trouble. DO NOT move the throttle after you hit the engine stop button while the engine is spooling down, it will go forward out of cutoff and the N1 will not drop to zero and the throttle will not move back to the cutoff position anymore, and it will not respond to any attempts to restart it.
  21. This one is fairly low priority all things considered, but I've noticed the exhaust nozzle starts in the closed position and only opens as you get into afterburner. Typically the nozzle is wide open at idle throttle as not to produce any thrust, it will close as throttle in increased and then open again as you get into the burner.
  22. I'm less than thrilled with a lot of the weapons/damage modeling in DCS but I've found the cannons in the M2000 seem to do the job pretty consistently for me *shrug*
  23. The M-2000C is quickly becoming my favorite module. My only real gripe so far is lack of mapable controls. I took some of the keyboard only ones and made them usable on my joystick/throttle/panels, but lots of stuff (the radar controls most notably) is not mapable yet. I also find it a shame that the (real plane) designers limited the slick mk82 to CCRP only, CCIP with mk82s would easily be the most accurate delivery of unguided bombs, no matter what it seems there's always a silly compromise made :( I'm really loving this plane and can't wait for more updates from RAZBAM!

    RWR Display.

I would agree that most contacts end up way too close to the center of the display, making it very hard to tell whats going on. I would think there needs to be a small, virtual circle in the center of the display where contacts cannot move any closer.
  25. AFAIK this issue is present on all (or at least the majority) modules, it's not unique to the Mirage.
