So here's a progress update. This is how I assembled the sides of the boxes, drilled and tapped aluminum bar welded to the side panels. The switch panel drilled with the rotaries, I was even able to add the holes for the anti-rotation pins on the switches, so they work great. And with the engraved panel on top, hasn't had the white fill yet.

I had the same problem with my GTX760 (2gb), I upgraded to a 970 and it sits around 3.5gb vram usage. How many many screens are you running? Resolution?
-
Yeah those are ones I ordered (except 1/2" shaft) I was gonna use the rotarys we use at work but they're 12 position (30º).
-
With the success of the first panels, I ordered more parts and I'm starting to draw up the panel for the right side. This is what I have so far. I never make my own CMS programs so having the extra buttons/switches are of no real use for me, so I omitted them.

Thanks. Turns out it was one of the aircraft mods (F-15E,F/A-18C,Mi-24) that I had installed.

Lately the integrity check isn't letting me join, I don't have any weapon mods and can join other servers just fine..

Thanks guys, here's a few more pics. The switches are mounted in aluminum panels, I sheared them to size then stuck them to a piece of wood with double sided tape, I then clamped the wood to the mill table so I could accurately drill the holes. The "frame" is aluminum plate and bars that I welded together. The bars are drilled and tapped and the switch panels bolt to the "frame" and the engraved panels bolt to the switch panels. To get the required thickness, I simply took scrap engraving plastic and stuck it to the back of the panels. I'm using a GP Wiz40 to wire the switches to. The white plastic around the gear handle is teflon, I had to add that to prevent binding.

Well here she is.

A lathe spins a part while stationary (as in non-spinning) tools cut and shape it, such as the switch shafts above. I used a CNC engraver for the panels.
-
Turned the switch shafts for the AHCP. Engraved another panel and used the prox sensor to keep the engraving depth constant.
-
Well here's the AHCP/landing gear panel so far. Unfortunately it lifted up a little so the engraving near the top is deeper than it's supposed to be (hard to see in the picture without the white fill).

M-61 Vulcan and Gau-8 Avenger dispersion values
Deezle replied to Flagrum's topic in Bugs and Problems
This mod is not MP friendly unless the server/all clients have it. -
Try GUI = { x = 1920; y = 0; width = 1920; height = 1080; }

I finally got the last parts I needed for my homemade buttkicker setup, instead of a second sound card I noticed my PC recognizes the optical output as a separate device from the analog output, so I simply ordered an optical to analog converter for the transducer to use. SimShaker is working great

Howdy all. I've posted my pit before as it sits but I'm taking the plunge into panel building. I'm starting off with the AHCP, landing gear panel and fuel control panel. I'll be taking some liberty with dimensions, switch layouts, and such, to fit my tastes/needs, for example I'll be putting the SAS switches in place of the fill disable switches. After I get this side complete I'd like to do a basic countermeasure panel, electrical panel and AAP for the right side. So far I started work on the landing gear handle. I'm not a machinist by trade but I spend a fair amount of time on a mill and lathe and know my way around them. I also have access to plenty of engraving plastic and a CNC engraver at work for the panels. So here's the landing gear handle with a couple gratuitous shots of my rig. A pile of EATON SPDT and SPST switches. I'll be turning aluminum shafts for them where appropriate. And a recap of the pit as it currently sits.

How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
Deezle replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've done that, I have several working functions I've made for other aircraft, but with the Huey, the function I created, the two spaces for mapping to the stick or throttle are greyed out. I even copied a similar function from another thread and pasted it in, and it's the same story there too. -
How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
Deezle replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks to this thread I've mostly got the hang of getting these toggle mappings to work with my TM WH, and I'm currently gearing up to build my first panels. However, with the Huey I'm trying to make the radar altimeter power switch work with the radar altimeter switch on the WH throttle, I made the appropriate changes default.lua, however in DCS the option of mapping that function to the stick or throttle is "greyed out". I'm not sure where I need to be looking next. -
There's a sticky for the mod you're looking for on this very page ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130459

Memory can be very important. I'm using ~3.5gb of vram with my current setup, you can imagine the problems this created when my last card only had 2gb of vram...

How come my mk-82 / mk-84 never hits targets?
Deezle replied to oscar19681's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Wind and/or lack of practice. I was doing a mission last night and I entered in the wind data in the LASTE wind page, I had two DIRECT hits with CCRP and Mk82s on armored targets from 4000 and 7000 ft AGL, I was very happy with those passes. -
I've been using this since you posted this and I must say DCS does feel smoother at lower framerates now.
