  1. I bet it is a ELINT operation of some kind.
  2. This is a good idea +1
  3. Haswell-E is the way to go IMHO. The 2011 socket I believe will be the path future processors should be based on rather than the 1511. It has support for DDR3/DDR4 ram and quad channel operations.
  4. Hah..this is on top of my wishlist..why bother adding more features and pilot-able craft if the basic functionality of the game is lacking good AI or AI damage modeling?
  5. A couple times I noticed that I had actually knocked down incoming missiles with the su 27 using the launch override. I am guessing it is a proximity fuze that sets it off?
  6. It does not offer the performance to dollar ratio that earlier gen i7s offer. Especially overclocking wise. DDR4 ram does not really seem to offer any major performance jumps vs the cost either...
  7. I hate when people say things like oh its too hard to program AI so why bother with it just play multiplayer? DCS needs a halfway decent AI overhaul before we need more planes and other features. I know it is possible, look at IL-2 or Falcon BMS..much older games. It effects game play in a major way! At least some simple damage modeling on AI..
  8. It vs AI only. I have not tested online. I am glad to hear that ED is aware of it but for the moment, I do not fly the F86 awaiting further changes/updates.
  9. While I do not doubt the pre 1.5.3 damage modeling is a bit off(WIP), I am fairly certain whatever changes were made it makes the Mig15 even more .50cal resistant. I play one of the F-86 mission all time were you start behind a flight of Migs climbing, prior to updating 1.5.3 I never had 400+ hits without a kill.
  10. I agree with the others, neither your ram (16GB) or SLI (GTX 960) would be a good upgrade IMHO. I would sell your current card, use that towards a better card. Also I noticed you have your I7 4790K @ 4.00GHz. I think you have a little more overclocking headroom to get the most power out of your system and for free.
  11. As I updated my client DCS software to the newest 1.5.3 version, changes were made to the Mig-15 damage model. Before I could down a Mig with 100-200 rounds of .50 cal and now I just had a dogfight where I had over 430+ 50 cal hits and the thing kept flying like the terminator. I saved the trk file if I can find it. Anyone else noticing this?
  12. Huge strategic waste of money.
  13. Keep your energy state up. Do not get into a rolling scissors vs the Mig, especially a vertical one. Remember that the F-86 can break mach 1 in a dive, the Mig cannot without loss of control starting around mach .90-.95. The G-suit gives the F86 pilot a +.5 G advantage I read somewhere on the forum.

    S530 Range

Bottom line, is there consensus about the S530s range, for whatever reasons, is less than what it should be vs real world data? If yes, will it be addressed?
  15. Yes it is. On another note, to get the most performance, i7/980 Ti wise, I recommend overclocking as much as you can get away with. In my experience the 980 Ti gets significant gains OCed. I run my Ti boost clock at ~1400Mhz and memory +200-300 Mhz using EVGAs Precision X software. My card is a regular clocked EVGA card with the upgraded ACX 2.0 cooler and has an ASIC score of 74.5% so your milage may vary.
  16. F-16C Falcon Block 50
  17. I think it is a great release, sure there are bugs in the launch BETA but once they are taken care of/refined it will be a real winner IMHO.
  18. Samsung SSDs FTW! This sure comes up alot.. There are a lot of reasons why it is a good upgrade, you can mount it internally and clonezilla it. Samsung has a tech advantage with its 3-d V-NAND, giving them much longer lifespans and performance.
  19. I voted no. For all amazing work they are doing in upgrading the Mig 29, some compensation is deserved. I look forward to flying it a lot more ;)
  20. Another vote of confidence towards a Nvidia 970 video card, especially for DCS/any other game out. Especially for 1080p gaming. As another person mentioned, look for brands with upgraded coolers vs stock design. EVGA would be my recommendation from personal experience. IMHO.

    Mirage F1 Poll

+1 EE. It would be nice to have several sub variants but the focus I believe should be on the main aircraft, for time/resources sake. Down the road, after it has been released, then perhaps other variants.
  23. Gotta pay to play ;)
  24. Personally I have owned many generations of EVGA GPUs and have always found their products excellent. Great customer service, the step up program, PrecisionX OC software and generally excellent products. Highly recommend their upgraded cooling, ACX 2.0+ or the Hybrid models. Quiet and very effective. OCing the 980 Ti gives big gains, hence get the best cooling solution you can for your GPU.
