  1. Hello got a bug report. All other planes work normally but FW190 is acting strange, vibrating hard when it should be idle, and generally not doing as it is supposed to. Anyone aware of this and know if there will be (or is) a fix? Really want to fly it cause the new cockpit looks fantastic, but I need to turn of the jetseat and in that case might just as well shut off the game.
  2. Really? Cause I find without the JS there is absoloutely no feeling of G force, or acceleration as there is when actually using the JS. I mean honestly with the jetseat I can feel myself stall. It's not so much about what I can feel but what I can't. I mean sometimes the engines just cut out and you feel nothing at all. I can feel my engine/rpm ramping up, or accelerating. I can feel my guns firing, and my landing gears folding downwards.
  3. Not sure what you are saying, but I don't think Nvidia CP even affects VR performance.
  4. I'm not really sure how to use it propely but for some reason Dynamic weather has much better performance, so especially if playing in VR, leave cloud density on 0. Otherwise you will get stutters. Clouds look fantastic on dynamic weather I just don't know what I am doing to enable them! It's a little bit complex!
  5. Yeah exactly motion smoothing is fantastic with most modules. A few graphical anomalies here and there but it’s a small price to pay for the almost flawless performance and ability to crank up the graphic settings. I’ve never been happier playing DCS, as it means things like smooth dogfighting whatever and wherever you are looking, is now possible. Spitfire though, the artifacts are pretty hard to bear. And by the way Mastiff I am not on the rift but the VIVE we do have the same ability to turn off MS and get relatively smooth gameplay using another form of reprojection. But it’s not quite as smooth as MS especially in combat.
  6. Have you thought about getting a jetseat, so you can actually feel the engine sounds/stalls/stops and RPM’s etc? I agree about realism physics though, nerf them if you want but leave the options to play either realistic or simplified open for players to choose.
  7. Have you thought about getting a jetseat, so you can actually feel the engine sounds/stalls/stops and RPM’s etc? When you can actually feel the sounds it makes a world of difference, especially in VR with a good pair of headphones. It can create the illusion that the sounds are changing, even when perhaps they are not really doing so. I agree about realism physics though, nerf them if you want but leave the options to play either realistic or simplified open for players to choose.
  8. I see big improvements, might be more apparent in VR though
  9. Remember that stutters can still be caused by cloud density being set too high. Have also noticed they can still occur sometimes when certain AC's explode. Using dynamic weather seems to fix the weather issue at least, but the later isn't much of a problem. Definately still some existing old problems, but the pilot eject one which was the worse has gone. I havent tried the bombs in the viggen yet, that might be interesting!
  10. +1 Don’t even notice the sweet spot, all looks great for me! Huge step in the right direction!
  11. High cloud density still causes fps drops, and clouds seem to have reverted back to making annoying pop ins! Edit- seems to be solved using dynamic weather though
  12. How come no extenstions with T-50? If I don't have harder springs installed, could it possibly cause any damage? I'm just using T50 as it came but with 2 extensions. Will probably just leave it as it is then.
  13. What module? Sounds like motion smoothing, though you shouldn't be locked at 30 fps but 45, and any lower will cause big distortions. Are you sure its locked at 30? MS will always create some artifacts but I only really get them to the point where its distracting on the spitfire, but its very much personal preference, atifacts are still there with other modules just not in my face, and so I can ignore them. I will still see distortions from time to time, but for me its a happy trade off for better graphic settings, and much smoother performance. Go into steam VR settings, go to applications and then disable it and see if its any better for you.
  14. I know I should just try it myself but can never bring myself to do it. Anyone tried the warthog grip with the Virpil base? How does it perform, better, worse, or the same?
  15. I dont seem to have that option on my misc/options settings page. Anyone else?
  16. 80 percent more? Is that true?
  17. Can't say I've noticed this tbh though I am on the VIVE. No cone of good image quality for me that I can see. I have noticed that distant textures are not very focused (well in vegas anyway), but I like this blurred effect in VR more than I do a sharp image, as I find it conceals poor resolution and textures. The other sim has a sharp image quality option but I always shut it off. Personally am very happy with the update, just hope a hotfix for you guys doesn't come along and bork things up for me! :)
  18. To be honest on the VIVE with the new motion smoothing it is only really the spitfire that suffers from a distracting amount of (prop) artifacts, that force me to turn the gun reticle off when not it combat. All the other modules from WW2, to helicopter and jets (at least the ones I have tried) all seem to work great, and the gameplay is so damned fluid now. Last night though when I first tried DCS with the new update couldn't really put my finger on it, but it just seemed so smooth, and better graphically too. Not sure if that is placebo, or a result of better prerformance, causing less MS graphical artifacts. For me at least MS is the best thing ever to happen to VR/DCS (That said in the other sim I have to shut it off!). And thats on MSSA 4 and PD about 1.2. I've also noticed lately that weather effects are no longer stuttering, though this will have to be confirmed tonight. I really do think that DCS has come a long way recently! No more Vive basestation flashes when pilots eject is the biggest thing for me though! Oh how I have waited for that one!
  19. Ah maybe why I am unaffected cause mine was set to medium anyway!
  20. You might want to check back in ten years in that case!
  21. One reason I might not have this problem is that I cleaned DCS and ran a repair before the update. Also try deleting all the FXO shaders. Worth a try.
  22. Nope scratch that. Normandy trees still look bad when the light hits them.
  23. Try it with ASW on duburne. Cause for me with motion smoothing its very... well smooth. But it's not just the smoothness cause it was smooth before, but now it's actually clear and nice looking, without artifacts (except for spit prop) I believe because MS is no longer causing it to spaz out. It just all seems cleaner somehow or more polished. Always difficult to put a finger on these things, and its early days but still my initial impression is very good, and normandy god it looks so much better down low! Although trying a different time of day when the sun hit the trees they are still bright green! Strange though cause mission before was like midday!
  24. Not just frame rates. Normandy looks nice near the ground now, no more luminous trees. The Bf109 textures are gorgeous! And best of all no stutters the first time I shoot down an enemy plane. Not going to get to excited cause theres often new problems when old get fixed but this is a huge step in the right direction today especially for VR!
