I think that DCS is technologically so advanced that the issues can be only dealt by professionals. I remember during Black Shark 1 days that community involvement resulted in a relationship disaster. However, maximum cooperation effectiveness can be found by providing original data for simulation improvements. Some ED staff said that talented people, enough for DCS requirements, are hard to find. I don't think that the 2.5 version is a disaster yet, because it's a beta. Many people begged for its release, assuming the consequences I guess, but nothing oblige the other people to install it. Unfortunately too many of them take it too seriously. However I'm amused that this topic isn't successful. The usual congratulation torrent is broken. Perhaps the lack of rep point system ? :lol:

With experience you'll learn to not trust this info bar. At first you will notice that it's not TAS but EAS that is displayed. Then you'll discover that any AoA value reading except from the cockpit instrument presents an offset and a coefficient with this module. Better use the instrument only.

Not to mention that such project can be (and it will be) unexpectedly delayed for months because of technical difficulties.

Check the altitude. Maybe you fly at 100m high in paramotor, but 300m in DCS… I wonder what do you technically suggest to enhance the speed sensation, because if you raise the top speed of the aircraft, that would break everything in the sim.

The electromagnetic pulses emitted by this radar technology is reflected by the ground so it clutters the radar display. It becomes impossible to discriminate a target from this clutter. That's why the radar scans no lower than -1.5° below horizon, and it is more convenient to stabilize it rather than making it fixed to the aircraft orientation.

I'd say they need to release a second module to finance the finishing of the first one, both in money and experience terms. All 3rd parties do that apparently.

Cool, I think that rep system could bias people's behavior for points. Can you disable the visitor message board in profiles as well ? Unlike the (old) rep, the messages are public and they can't be edited or deleted by the profile's owner. That's much more dangerous.

When you arrive to the first waypoint, you have to setup again the doppler navigation system to go to the next waypoint, and so on. It can manage one destination only at a time.

3D model overhaul has been officially announced. Just hope that specific part of it will be fixed too.

This is purely cynical. Everybody knows by now where this module fails thanks to original documentation, just open your eyes and read the topics about them. This may be the best MiG-21 simulation ever, but it's not a valid excuse. Naive word play like this cannot hide the fact the care given to it is sub-standard (except graphics). After the years, people has lost patience and yes, it's threatened to be trashed and forgotten if another module comes out to fill the role. I's not constructive but thanks for shining his shoes.

DS enhances many things but no, you can't deny that the screenshots of cockpits against the sun are totally unrealistic and hilarious. Just drive your car against sunrise and tell me if you see your dashboard as brightly. Don't try to lie to everybody including yourself. DS is tuned for day situation with the sun at the back only. Altering the situation just reveals how evident the range is too high and desperately static. Nothing will be better for low-lighting conditions and sun glare without bringing HDR back in whatever form. Tuning the materials only is hopeless.

Actually for PC platform the standard target is 2.2, mac is 1.8. This is because of the phosphor pigments' response of CRTs that required that gamma in order to look like 1. Today's displays continue to electronically mimic CRT gamma response so the 2.2 number is still the goal. I'll use these charts now they are better that the ones I've used, so thanks for the link ;)

Not really. They just have to update the last message only to the message queue of 2 items max, instead of expanding it by appending and force to announce every obsolete message of the queue to the end.
